We ended up eating here two nights in a row - as there wasn't really anything else in the area besides bars - but were so happy we did.

Fortunately the meals are much better than my recall of their German names. The woman serving us…read morewas equally as fabulous as the meal. The salad had potatoes that were soaked in a vinegar and oIl based dressing. I am positive that my description does a huge disservice. I had three filet dinner with chicken, lamb and beef. All tender and tasty! They were joined by a pasta with a delicious gravy. All was topped off fried apple rings and vanilla ice cream. When in Stuttgart Germany I highly recommend this restaurant.

If I'm back in the area I'll give Staffele another visit, but I'm rounding up from 3.5 based on the…read morefirst visit. Staffele is a cute little place tucked back into the side streets in the seam between the Mitte, Sud, and West neighborhoods, a quick walk from Feuersee. The inside is old-school dark and pub-like, but outside they have a small (covered) beer garden with a handful of tables. You are right in the city, but tucked into a tiny side-street, so it's still nicely quiet. We found the service to be okay, but even more business-like than our other meals of the week. As far as the food went, the jaegerschnitzel was good, and the maultaschen with eggs was one of my favorite dishes of the trip. Usually maultaschen seems to be served as a giant meat-filled ravioli with a cream sauce or broth, but here they serve it chopped into bite-sized pieces, pan-fried with eggs, and without sauce (vaguely like fried-rice, but with meat ravioli). It was a nice change of pace and a tasty choice. If I find myself in the area again, I'll stop by and try some more of the menu out...

My Wife and I went here for a date night; this place is good for that! The portions are small, but…read morehere in Germany things like the glassware, drinks, etc. are measured exactly as they should be for portion size, so don't go here if you're a greedy pig looking to stuff your face with a serving for 20. The food is very filling and honestly the best food we've tasted here in Stuttgart! This is an authentic gourmet restaurant with a Michelin Star; these are earned, not by yelp reviews and random people, but by the big wigs. They've earned it and have maintained that reputation regardless of what other reviews show. My wife and I had the duck and deer for the main courses. Both were incredibly amazing! We cleaned our entire plate and were tempted to lick them clean. We ordered the beef tartare for the starter and we probably had the same euphoric reaction a Lion would biting down on on some caribou. For dessert, we chose the Sorbet and the Almond Pudding/Cake. 20/10 for all of the food; all of which was recommended by Rusty so thank you for that! Danke schön! We were recommended, by Rusty, the Primitivo red wine and the Lugano white wine; both Italian wines were incredibly delicious and a perfect pairing for the meal! We tried a glass of both to start and decided to buy a bottle of the Primitivo; good choice! There are many more wines and more elegant/High-end wines but we stuck with the recommended Primitivo. We loved the ambiance, and the spinning clear dome chairs suspended from the ceiling were a nice way to get a little cozy together. The music varied, but all tunes were perfect for the mood! They had R&B, Alternative, Jazz, and other good tunes! A lot of individuals are saying it's expensive; most likely due to the "small portions/price,"but as mentioned, these proportions are perfect and the taste is worth the price! A good filling meal and a great night; we will definitely return for a future endeavor! Johanna and Rusty were tending to our requests and we couldn't be happier with their performance, professionalism, kindness, sociability, and the service! You both were awesome and we thank you! To the chef and all the kitchen; BRAVO! Thank you for the meal.

Parked on the street and since I didn't have change, the server was good enough to let me borrow a parking permit so I didn't need to feed the meter. Server was great and willing to explain the various dishes. Ordered the tripe stew, German raviolis and schnitzel. While my kids didn't enjoy it as much, I thought it was great. Really liked their potato salad. While food and service was definitely a solid four, the ambiance/weather (especially when it's hot) and credit card is why I held out to 3.5. If the food is the same the next time, I'll bump up to a to a 4.
