We ate in the bar, simply because the dining room was empty, and the bar just felt right. My wife and I ordered Beck's beer and split an order of Bruschetta, which was really good, and wonderfully presented. The Beck's on draft wasn't bad either, let me tell you. The tab was 11.50 Euros, not bad at all. We will likely return for a meal next time in downtown Bremen.

I was told the place was reserved and was invited to sit INSIDE in a place for only two persons. The interesting part is that there was no sign of reservation and that 2 minutes later a group of three people came in, asked for a place (without any reservation) and were given this place. Of course, I can understand a group of three generate more money than one...

I ordered the potato soup which was amazing! Also had been looking for sauerbraten all week and they had it. Unfortunately it wasn't cooked long enough so it was a bit tough. Overall though it was worth getting. The city is amazing and they have a ton of options but this is a good one.

The good news is, quality control is now ridiculously easy. The oxcheek ragout, the char, the herring buttermilk aspic were enjoyable. So, some excellent food is coming out. Anything on the plate was meant to be there. On that note, know your audience. The paper placemats with restaurant name printed, boiled beef amuse-bouche, and the popcorn added to the flank steak main are well and good for Bremen. But, in larger markets around the EU, it might get you stabbed, I mean, on the receiving end of some harsh language. I'll still go back. 2021 08 25. M0. G&M 15.

The service was very nice; our waiter was telling us about the dishes and making our visit pleasant in general with his attitude. The food: OMFG... The head chef has a way to put together unexpected details on the menu, for examples sweetbread and scallop, truffles with lobster tail and fish, and fois de gras in ravioli, and he/she pulls it of gallantly. We had the 5 dish gourmet menu with a few, very good wines from the list to it. There was often silence between me and my co-eater in order to fully enjoy the beautiful taste combinations. Very pleasant indeed.
