I ordered takeout from Zumo sushi recently and I was super impressed by the quality. Ambiance was busy and loud little sushi spot. Takeout process was really quick and easy, staff was really friendly and helpful. The Red Dragon Roll was really fresh and flavorful. The parking in front of the restaurant was available. The next time I stop by I will be sure to eat inside the restaurant. read more

Even though it was very busy and seemed understaffed for the number of servers needed, the entire staff did an amazing job! The food was delicious, and the service was great. We also ordered the Red Dragon Roll, spicy edamame, and miso soup all of which were fantastic! Overall, a great experience! read more

Visiting Kapaa Kaua'i for a week so we wanted to eat somewhere the locals love! Very busy restaurant! Always a good sign! 6 of us came in for dinner. We waited about 15 minutes to be seated... service was great and so was our food! Everybody in our party was happy with their food! My husband and I loved the sushi! We went back a couple nights later for takeout-chicken fried rice and Penang Curry chicken! Sooo good! Highly recommend!! read more

We came here to celebrate my daughter's birthday. This is a small place with a lot of table tables for two. There were six of us and when got there, They put some tables together quickly so we could all sit together. I can't remember our waitresses name, but she greeted us with a smile, quickly got us menus and water. We ordered appetizers for the table. Calamari, crab Rangoon, and shrimp tempura , everything came out tempting at the proper temperature and altogether so we could get started with the birthday celebration. We also ordered a bunch of rolls and some sashimi. Everything was fresh and appetizing and yummy. They don't serve alcohol here, but you can go to the ABC store and buy it and they will give you glasses to serve yourself and they will keep your extra refrigerated till you're ready for more. Our waitress checked us regularly and took care of our table professionally. We had a lovely time and we can't wait to go back. read more

Great house rolls and sashimi. Great service. Highly recommended. Great service. Lots of locals.

Was visiting and looking for a sushi place to go and this place did not disappoint! The fish are fresh and the service was good! They also do not serve alcohol so it's BYOB, and thankfully there is an ABC store nearby to get a couple drinks! I would definitely come back here again my next visit to Kauai. read more

Local resident and made a stop here for Sunday lunch. Since that first visit - I've been back 2 more times and it remains one of my new favorite sushi spots. Food presentation is consistently appealing, service is quick and friendly, and the food is delicious. My favorite is the salmon dynamite and green beans (appetizers). The fried ice cream is also a tasty dessert. read more

Great sushi and attentive service. We had Salmon Roll (with roe) and the Shrimp Roll. Both were outstanding! I tried spicy Miso Soup. It was a bit too spicy for me. Will get regular next time. And there definitely will be a next time! read more

First impression, one of the sushi chefs was so nice. The restaurant was super busy and he assisted us right away letting us know someone will be right with us. After waiting about 30 min, after we called ahead and was told there was no wait, we got a table. Unfortunately once seated, we didn't get water or any utensils until after about 20 min of being seated and we had to ask for some. Once our order had been taken it took over an hour to just get our miso soup. I had asked about our order and the waitress said it would be right out. A party of 6 who was sat at the same time was finished and paid before we even got one main entree. After only getting 1/3 of our order in the matter of an 1.5 hours, we were going to order more but then the waitress took the menu out of my hands as I was reading it. After that we just asked for the check and cancelled the food we never got. The food itself was really good which was so disappointing because the service was so bad. The chefs all seemed very kind but once it got super busy it seemed like the attention was focused mostly on large parties. read more

I ordered a spicy shrimp roll to go. It was awful. I went to culinary school, and it tasted like the rice used to make the sushi was leftover rice from the walk in. There was no spicy sauce on it like the menu said, and the shrimp tasted weird. It felt like a bug was in my stomach last night. I don't like leaving negative reviews, but this was irritating. Would not recommend. read more

Zumo Sushi is a nice little gem tucked away from all the hustle bustle. I had the Zumo Roll because that should be their BEST roll if it's named after the restaurant right? Well, it IS. I also got the Blackhawk and it was equally as delicious. The next taste test for me was the fried rice. Usually it's uncommon for fried rice to be good at a sushi place but IT'S WORTH EVERY BITE. I'd completely visit again the next time I'm in Kauai. Friendly service, food comes fast...no complaints. Parking - right in front of the restaurant. Prices - quality is worth the price Service - friendly and attentive Ambiance - cozy read more

Amazing all the way around! Best roll and service was amazing! Best roll we've had the entire trip'

Casual atmosphere, very good casual service, and great sushi. We ate here 3 times during our 10 days on Kauai. It's not visible from the street and our gps messed up but we still found it -- a few steps from the entrance to Publix. read more

We stopped by Zumo Sushi during our trip to Kauai and ordered three different sushi rolls--each one was really good. Super fresh, well-balanced flavors, and nicely presented. You can tell they know what they're doing with sushi here. The service was just okay--not bad, but not especially warm or attentive either. As for the atmosphere, it was fine. Clean and casual, but it could definitely use a little more vibe or character to match the quality of the food. Overall, definitely worth visiting for the sushi alone! read more

We ordered the gyoza, spicy edamame, tempura roll and red dragon roll. 1. Gyoza was tasted very doughy and I felt like it was warmed in the microwave. The filling was still hard. 2. Spicy edamame, they sprinkled red pepper flakes and drizzled soy sauce over the top. 3. Tempura roll. Since we had a late lunch I ordered light. The roll was so bland. I asked for jalapeños and spicy mayo to spice it up and add a little flavor. 4. Red dragon roll was my husband's. He said it wasn't bad. read more
