It was the best service we received in a two week vacation and not to mention the best meal we had in Germany. Delicious local beer that you can only get in a few spots in Dresden. And on top of that the prices were great!

Everything about the experience was great…read more First, the building and the beer garden were perfect -- not touristy in the least, and sitting outside was just great. (There is a park behind the beer garden, so the overall vibe is super chill.) As for the food and drink, they exceeded our expectations. After having eaten out a lot over a two-week trip, the food here was much better than most of the places we visited in Germany. The pasta my daughter had was great -- lots of fresh veggies mixed in and it was her most memorable dish the entire two weeks. I had the white asparagus with a schnitzel and could not have been happier -- the asparagus and hollandaise sauce was outstanding, and the schnitzel one of the better I had all trip. As for the service, the folks who helped us were polite, funny and cool. I highly recommend this establishment. So glad we found it. Highly, highly recommended!!

My mom and I were in Dresden for two nights and wanted good beer and bratwurst. I found this place…read moreonline, and we took off on public transportation. The tram we were on for some reason stopped running, and we don't speak any German, so we didn't know why or what do do. It was raining and freezing, and I wanted to give up, but we eventually made it somehow, and it was worth it. We had an amazing hot pretzel with brie cheese spread to start while we shared a beer sampler to decide what beers we wanted. We then had the best bratwurst I've ever had. It was bursting with flavor and so juicy and tender. The ambiance is wonderful too. It's in this huge old building and there were at least three large dining rooms. We picked the room near the front where cute booths curved all around the room. The back room has great views of the river. The servers were both really lovely and patient as we asked questions and decided on our meal. Wish I could go back!

Put the lid back on and the food stays hot while you try everything on the menu you possibly can. Everything in those jars was exceptional. A few notes: reservations are very required, but if you want to try just walking in, go early. This is how we landed a table and it was worth the gambit. Do not dine in the tourist section. The new part of town is where all of the interesting and amazing restaurants are and the locals are never crossing the bridge to eat. Of all the places we went to, Lila Sosse was the high water mark.

We watched him pull many patron's tables inside when it unexpectedly began raining. The food is OK but not exceptional. A lot of the dishes are a bit oversold---for example, a basic cheese spaetzle is called "Swabian noodles" on the menu, which is a bit pretentious. Same goes for the pork preserves and hearty beets. Everything is served in glass jars, which is a bit of a flourish. However, the food is good, and the setting is outstanding.

The servers smile and are very nice. The food was great. We had suckling pig with a potato dumpling, bread with schmaltz and a soup. The weisswurst was very tasty and came two in an order and served in a tasty broth with small veggies. It also came with a pretzel which is a great deal for 7€. The beer was tasty as well. The meatloaf is very dense and cut like a thick ham slice. On the salty side, this was well balanced with the sour cabbage and potatoes. We also ordered a side of beer sauce which is similar to a gravy and goes with meat dishes, not an accompaniment to the pretzels. The sauce tasted strongly of dark beer. Service was wonderful and we were checked on often by our server. Menus have English translations and it was nice to see a good mix of both Germans and foreigners here. Overall a great dining experience.
