Burrito Rico is unquestionably the best (and the only) spot to have such tasty burritos in Bonn…read more The atmosphere is nice, the staff is very friendly and all sorts of burritos are great. The quality of the chicken, pork and meat products as well as the sauces-green salsa, red salsa, mango salsa, yellow salsa, red-Tobacco-like sauce, sour-cream, guacamole-are very high. As a person who cannot tolerate the taste or smell of cilantro/coriander, I like this place even more as it goes easy on cilantro unlike its counterparts in the US or Latin America. I don't care if the food is "not Tex-Mex enough" or "not even comparable to the burritos in Texas," I am just glad that I don't taste soap and I can enjoy my burrito without the stress of tasting cilantro (and puking afterwards). I find it pointless to compare Burrito Rico to places that serve breakfast tacos for a dollar in Texas; that's mixing apples with oranges. I am not a spokesperson for Burrito Rico but I don't think even the restaurant has such an ambition to become like a cheap Mexican restaurant in Texas. :) It should be noted that Burrito Rico is a little pricy. Especially the price of guacamole is ridiculously high. Even though one burrito (which costs around 10 Euros) is enough to stuff a person, it is not enough to stuff a very hungry person. :) Another downside is that sometimes the burritos are not rolled properly so that the customer is getting burned by his/her first bite of hot salsa. I remember that couple of times I had to go downstairs to wash my face and clean my nose in the middle of lunch or dinner due to this mistake. Also, nachos are very standard; I am sure nobody would distinguish them from cheap chips sold at Kiosks. Finally, it is really surprising to see the place is not serving Taco salad in crispy bowl-it would be a huge asset. Overall, Burrito Rico is the best place to have the best burritos in Bonn. Period. :)

Being a person who LOVES Mexican food and have been experimenting with cooking it my whole life,…read moreBurritoRico was a real disappointment. I was really hoping to find my fix in Bonn, but alas, I will have to keep searching. My partner ordered the tacos. The flavors went well together, but the meat was dry and the corn tortillas were not heated on a grill. The tortillas fell apart pretty much immediately so he was left eating tacos with a fork. I ordered the vegetable burrito and again, it was very over cooked and pretty flavorless to add. The beans seemed like they'd been cooking for days and had been burnt. Too much rice and too little flavor. We also got the nachos to see what they were like and it was just laughable. It was room temperature ballpark nacho cheese (runny, unnatural, yellow stuff) on top of store bought tortilla chips. The toppings were sparse and you only got about 1/2 a basket eaten before your chips were completely dry. Cold nachos? I could not understand. The redeeming traits were a nice interior and a very tasty yet tiny margarita. For the €30 that we spent at BurritoRico, I would rather stay home and make Mexican food with actual flavor.
