This cafe was full but we were seated immediately. Our server was friendly and efficient. Though my German is not great, the server was patient and we met in the middle as he spoke some English. I had the chicken schnitzel with French fries and crème brûlée for dessert! I enjoyed it and will return if I'm back in Trier!

The schnitzel, while served as two pieces versus one giant piece, was decently (but not perfectly) executed. Crispy, somewhat tender meat (could have been more tender) and a very flavorful sauce with fresh mushrooms. The spätzle was soft and buttery. Almost melted in my mouth. Can't go wrong with a nice Pilsner to wash it all down.

I was a little confused at first but soon realized that you actually go inside to place your order and then they bring the food out to you. I ordered a glass of white wine and the shrimp salad. The wine was delicious and perfectly complimented the salad. The salad was good. It was a little small so I wish I had ordered something else because it didn't satisfy my hunger but it was super tasty! I loved the gorgeous views provided on the patio. Everything was just so nice. The staff were great. I will definitely come back next time I'm in Trier!

This is a very traditional yet never old place to have dinner in Trier. I've been here two times,…read moreoverall, and the Ambiance as well as the food were great. If you can and the weather allows it, dine in their outdoor area: it's lovely, has separated areas and is also protected from the neighbouring streets. Service was fun, as our waitress had a very strong personality, which we weren't used to but loved! She was very efficient and made sure we were always doing fine. Cuisine consists of different options: some more traditional plates (like schnitzel, potatoes and wurstel) but also some variation (fish, fish soup, octopus, pasta...). Overall the plates were delicious. One thing we all noticed, and that perhaps is of great value to know for customers, is that their steaks tend to be well done, even the ones they consider to be rare or, as they say "Englisch". The steak in itself tasted really good, but definitely not rare (I don't have a picture).
