Because of the flexibility of the owners we could stay in a double room together with two young children (they put us exta-matresses in the room). We had a very pleasent stay there.

This was a really neat place. It's a bit different than your usual hotel experience, of course,…read morebut I'd definitely stay here again. To check in, we visited Cafe Pini, which was in the same building. There, we were given a sealed envelope with a letter and two keys. This felt a bit awkward to me, but only because I had forgotten about this instruction in a prior e-mail I'd received, and therefore wasn't expecting it. The rooms and bathrooms were clean. Decoration varied. One room was more modern, another was completely...bizarre, to be honest. It made me feel like I was living in an antique shop. I appreciated the unique atmosphere. (The bathroom was completely modern, and even included shampoo, soap, shoe horns and shower caps.) Great location. There were a lot of restaurants, cafes, bars in the area that were very much worthwhile. You could also walk to the main attractions (Marienplatz) easily if you wanted to. There's also access to public transportation very close by. The breakfast was included, and was very good. The spread wasn't obscenely large, but the food was delicious, as was the coffee (French Press, made fresh!!!) The very nice lady who ran the breakfast sliced fresh ham as soon as she noticed it was getting low, and checked in to make sure you had everything you needed. Additionally, the atmosphere of the breakfast was very nice. Quality tablecloths, matching china...very fancy.

I travelled to Munich in Feb. The hotel is located in a building which was built in 1885. The room…read moreis well-decorated, lovely and cozy, people at the reception desk are friendly and helpful!! I lost my chocolate I bought in Switzerland when I checked out, and when I discovered I was already on the train. The hotel helped to mail it to my friend in Germany, for free!!! He took it back to China and mailed it to me, the chocolate is so well-packed that when I received it, there is even no wrinkle on the paper bag!!! I would definitely recommend Splendid Dollmann to every tourist, it's literally the best hotel with the best service!!!

In the early 90's I walked into this hotel because it was cheaper than the youth hostels in Munich…read more I think i may have been the only guest there at the time, and I spent a bit of time speaking to the owner at the time who was very nice and though his English was as bad as my German we got along just fine. In fact he even let me use the hotel's only washer and dryer. This is where he and I became friends. While talking to him he showed me several scars on his chest area, huge scars, and simply said "American GI" smiled and pointed at me and said we are friends now. Not nerve racking at all for a kid in his late teens. For years afterwards I have returned to the hotel, always being given a room for the 20 marks a night I paid that first year. Now that deal is gone, though while it lasted I watched this place turn into one of the more beautiful and comfortable small hotels in Munich. I believe the last time the nightly rate was over 200 dollars. I can not afford that, but I still walk by, and though my old friend is no longer there, I still stop in to look around the lobby and tell my friends the stories. The location is ideal for those who can afford it. Right down the street from the park, a short walk from the old square, and not a terrible walk from the train station. Some day when I make more money I will happily stay here again.

Cool little boutique hotel with loads of charm and very close to the Oktoberfest grounds…read more We were looking at hotels months before Oktoberfest and found this gem. It wasn't terribly priced and was very close to the Wiesen. And as we didn't have table reservations, we wanted something close to the grounds so we could show up early. The design is very cool. Modern with a cool Bavarian charm. The staff was great and spoke very good English which helps as my German was elementary at best. The rooms are clean big enough, and have a little balcony with ample fresh air. The other amenities are good as well. The bar was small and intimate but what makes this place is the amazing German breakfast. It's everything you expect from a German breakfast and more. Grab your food and sit on the patio area to take in the morning air. Overall I was so impressed I would absolutely book again for my next Oktoberfest.

Ideal hotel for Munchen Oktoberfest!!!…read more Hotels in Munich are not cheap. AC/DC were playing when we went and most hotels were booked solid. Found this place through Trivago. Located about 400m from nearest ubahn station. Not a bad walk down and then you're only a couple of stops from the centre of the city. Rooms are clean, the bed was comfy and there's a great shower! Breakfast was included in the room rate and is served from 7am - 10am. Great selection of continental breakfast items. Although I stuck to granola with yogurt or bread rolls with nutella - yum! Also serving good beer / cocktails in the bar which is always a nice way to finish off a busy touristy day!

It seemed pretty pricey to me - over 500 Euros for 3 nights - but since I'm an American who is used to having A/C in every building all the time, it was definitely worth the cost so that I could enjoy my few days in Germany (after suffering through a day or two in an un-air-conditioned AirB&B). Besides, this hotel is in walking distance from many wonderful attractions and restaurants in Munich, so its cost is absolutely justified! Will definitely stay there again if and when I return to visit Munich :)
