BEWARE of renting any apartments from Tania from ZR Zurich Relocation AG. We rented an apartment on Niederdorfstrasse in the old town of Zurich, Switzerland for a month, 6-DEC-2021 through 7-JAN-2022 from Tania at Zurich Relocation through Airbnb. Tania scheduled plumbing work to be done in our apartment during our rental period and didn't tell us until the day after we moved in (7-DEC-2021). We were told that "a" technician was scheduled to arrive in our apartment on the morning of 20-DEC-2021 to address a "small" water issues in the kitchen but we would still be able to use our kitchen 100% that same afternoon. It was clearly not an emergency situation since we moved in on 6-DEC-2021 and work was scheduled on 20-DEC-2021.
In reality, 7 technicians showed up early in the morning on 20-DEC-2021. They brought several large pieces of equipment into our kitchen and left it there for 2 whole days. They were in and out of our apartment for 2 days, used our bathroom whenever they wanted and left us without a usable, working kitchen for 2 whole days just a couple of days before Christmas. We had to put up with all this again a week after Christmas for another 5 days . No hot water, several workers in and out of our apartment whenever they needed access and using our bathroom whenever they needed because apparently, the water issues in the apartment building were not fixed on 20 & 21-DEC-2021. The hot water had to be shut off in the kitchen from 3-JAN-2022 and remained off for the remainder of our stay - 7-JAN-2022.
With all the issues we had during our stay, not once did we receive a follow-up message or phone call from Tania or Zurich Relocation asking if everything was resolved. We were left to deal with the contractors, technicians and the building manager directly during ALL the repairs. We were never offered anything in return for all inconveniences during our Christmas vacation. Only after being forced to fight and argue with them did they credit us back only 2 days but it should have been much more.
Tania & Zurich Relocation expected us to tolerate and agree to any and all inconveniences thrust upon us. Tania provided very poor communication regarding the timing and impact of all this, used bullying tactics when we expressed our frustration and concluded with a list of lies in her review of us on Airbnb.
Tania's review states this was "a small cooperation (short inspection in each flat) of all tenants. Linda and her husband were informed about that on time. However, they hardly cooperated, unpleasantly communicated and took advantage of this small issue!"
This situation was far from a "small cooperation (short inspection)" as Tania stated it was. To say that we "hardly cooperated, unpleasantly communicated and took advantage of this small issue" is so blatantly deceptive, it defies description and is indicative of the poor business practices employed by her and Zurich Relocation.
They absolutely have no concern or consideration for the people renting their apartments.
It was obviously not enough that ALL access and ALL of the intrusive work that the building manager wanted to accomplish was completed while we were occupying the apartment during our vacation, that Tania felt the need to post her lie filled review and label us as not good guests.
Beware!! Think twice before using Airbnb & ZR Zurich Relocation AG for your hard earned vacation and subjecting yourself to Zurich Relocation's unreasonable treatment. If you stick up for your guest rights with your host, if you hold a host accountable to abide by the terms of your lease, the host can punish you with a libelous review and ruin your Airbnb reputation with potential hosts, not to mention not getting what you paid for.
Airbnb does not take down host reviews even though we have proven with pictures of all that happened, that Tania's review is unfair and ALL lies. Airbnb needs to take a hard look at their overall review policy to ensure fair and equitable reviews and to protect guests' rights. Their policy is clearly slanted more toward the rights of the hosts and not their paying customers.
This whole situation with Tania and Zurich Relocation has been the most stressful experience we have ever dealt with.
Clearly, we will never use Zurich Relocation or Airbnb ever again, nor will we ever recommend them to anyone in the future. read more
