I'm young professional, and in this college town often mistaken as a college student, which I feel should be beside the point in the way I'm treated. There was a woman handing out tickets for a free glass of wine. As I walked in she offered online ticket to everybody but me looked me in the eye and and move to a different part of the room. I looked around, and the entire time was made to feel uncomfortable, as though I didn't belong there. It's really a shame because I've been looking forward to doing this first Friday Art walk for a long time and for this to be my first experience of it was truly disheartening. I will not frequent this establishment ever again.

I guess what really stood out to me was the attention to detail. We have a relatively old house (60's), I have batten board siding that had deteriorated on the south side and the west side and was weighing weather to stucco, reside or just paint. Evan thought it was salvageable and he was right. His team did a lot of preparation beyond spraying down, scraping, i.e. caulking, bondo, back rolling and it turned out great. They were especially attentive to knots on the fascia. Realistically, these guys are pros and two or three times they set me straight on a few things. I thought at first that it would be nice to trim out the mid band of our batten board walls and they talked me out of it (thank goodness) since I had double windows. Anyways, it sounds like reading the reviews that Kim M had a bad experience last year, but I had the opposite experience with a responsive, hard working crew who was exceptionally customer service oriented, finished up quickly and saved me thousands by focusing on the underlying prep that goes into a painting job. We have an active HOA with high work standards so I was really grateful for their work and attention to detail (i.e. roof elements, replacing screen doors, keeping deck pristine, etc. Anyway, just wanted to provide this more recent perspective.

I'd been hearing a lot about Mike at Otteman Arts in Loveland, CO…read more I had a framed mirror that had one of the corners come loose making it look like one more bump and the mirror would come crashing out of the frame. The half inch gap in the joint made it look pretty ragged; certainly not like anything any of us would want hanging on our wall. Mike is quite the craftsman when it comes to frames and what I got back resulted in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jo1LzQ7PYJE It also had a marred finish. Mike is an artist that studied at University of Denver and when he told me he could repair the finish, I pretty much believed him. When I got this mirror back, this video is of the result of his artistic work on the finish of the frame: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YCRL6Q_vaUU Not only did he do a super job of retouching the finish and repairing the loose joint, but, the frame came back to me with these attached. A very nice touch indeed: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3kmJBdzAb4g I put this last video in the "News" category at YouTube because I think it is news whenever you find a craftsman that is as service-minded as Mike Otteman at Otteman Arts in Loveland, Colorado.
