The…read moregym does cost more than others around, but the amenities are worth it (free locker service, free towel service, child care, etc.) Also, The Club has first-rate equipment, and it's definitely one of the classiest looking gyms I've ever visited. As for programs and equipment, The Club at Oak Branch has Les Mills fitness classes (BodyPump, BodyAttack, BodyStep, etc.), they have a large pool (I think it's Olympic sized, but don't quote me on that one-- it's huge, though), a nice cardio room with plenty of treadmills, elliptical machines, etc., and a weight room. They also have a unique program for young athletes called Parisi Speed School, which is a program designed to help athletes improve athletic performance, maximize their natural abilities, develop a higher level of self-confidence, and learn to prevent injury. If you live in the Greensboro area, check out The Club at Oak Branch or their sister site, The Club at Green Valley. Both locations are great.! I'm a member of the Golds in Germantown, MD. I passed this Golds on my way in so I wanted to see if I could workout here with my existing membership. Predictably, I couldn't. Turned out I needed something called a "passport" from my main gym. How I would even know to obtain that, I don't know. They told me I'd need to pay either $15 for a "day pass" or $40 for a week pass. I thought the week pass would provide the best value since I planned on working out multiple days a week. Helpful hint before paying--any--gym for a temp pass: WALK THE GYM. Had I done that, I would have seen that: - 2 out of 3 squat racks were busted - The equipment was old enough to easily see rust - The equipment was outdated - Some equipment had no "starting weight" listed - Some of the stretching and warm-up equipment was locked up - Heeeeavy on the sausage Of course they wouldnt give me a refund in typical gym fashion. Shame on me for not getting a feel for this place first. The next day I went to Strength and Body in Greensboro with a friend and that gym blew this Golds into orbit. It had new and premium body building equipment, multiple rooms for multiple things, a seamless, quick guest system, and ALL the equipment was in working order. Next time I'm down here I'll definitely skip this Golds, pay more, and go workout with the soccer moms and housewives at O2. But I have no doubt my experience will be better and I won't need a tetanus shot after using the equipment.
