The "Tower" is a whole huge building!
    Shellene O.

What an amazing track! The spectator areas are very clean and all of the bleachers have backs. There's no open spaces so nothing can fall through to the ground. First track I've ever been to that had TWO tunnels under the track to move from one side to the other (one at mid track and one at the end of the track). This was our first experience with 4 lanes of racing and we definitely enjoyed it. For an NHRA even, the NHRA brings in a big screen to show the in venue information, this tracks bleachers are SO BIG that unless you went down to the end you really couldn't see this screen. My other point is, there seems to be a lot of wall space around the tower at the starting line that could be turned into screens, so maybe that's something they'll do in the future.

There is a reason they call this "The Bellagio of Drag Strips". Bruton Smith and the folks at SMI designed and built a showcase 4 lane, that's right, FOUR lane dragway. Like all the ingenious promoters at SMI, this facility boasts the best of NHRA facilities and offers a truly unique experience for the fan. zMAX is the only 4 lane dragstrip in the world and the grandstands, parking, and overall experience should truly be added to the race fan's bucket list. From reserved seating on both sides of the track, luxury seats, stadium seating options, ample parking, tram service, well designed pits and super convenient access to highways, this drag strip was made for the fans! Given its proximity (on property of Lowe's Motor Speedway and The Dirt Track at Lowe's Motor Speedway) to NASCAR nation, the facility is privy to all the hotels, facilities, restaurants and raceshops that make the Charlotte, Concord, and North Carolina area home to so many race teams. Hotels are easy to find, Concord Mills mall is literally a mile away, and traffic is so well designed you don't realize how many tens of thousans of fans are there for the event. Experience a facility second to none and understand the addiction and passion drag racing fans have for 330 mph speeds and deafening nitro-fed engines.

My first time and I had a blast. Ladies got in free we went on a Friday. My husband paid $10.00 to get in. There were all kind of cars there from mustangs to family cars.

HUGE place...drag strip was awesome! Lots and lots of air conditioned restrooms, yay!! One of the better venues on Power Tour.

This is one of my favorite drag racetracks. It is alway clean and everything is easy to find. Parking is reasonably priced and well staffed. I got in and out of the parking area with ease. My son's team races at this track once a year and I always drive 215 miles to from Georgia to attend. Although it was extremely hot, I have no complaints. I will be back next year.

When we heard the Outlaws would be in Charlotte, we decided to hit that up and get some much needed time away. Describing our experience in one word - HORRIBLE! The dust was so bad that you couldn't see anything. We thought maybe after Friday night, they would do something to make things better for Saturday. No such luck. It was worse, and it was hard to get worse than Friday. The dust was so bad that you couldn't see the person standing beside you. You couldn't see one car on the track. As a matter of fact, you couldn't even see the race on the big screens either because the dust drowned out the lens on the camera....all you could see were shadows and dust. Absolutely the worst place I've ever been to watch a dirt track race. I don't know how the drivers were even able to see where they were going! Needless to say, I don't think we will be going back to this track any time soon. The NASCAR track is awesome....dirt track...no comparison! Two stars was pushing it...only gave that because we like the area. Very disappointed.

And this event was the championships. Stock car racing is something everyone should experience, if you like anything that goes fast. Here it's byob which is awesome. Saves money so you don't have to pay vending prices. Bring snacks, drinks, beer, blankets to sit on (bc it is a dirt track and the seats are, well dirty lol). Usually I don't wear anything nice to a dirt track but here it wasn't so bad. Also it's quick, meaning if you have ever been to Carolina speedway it's a lot different. Organized and quick to start each race. This time I had a giant corn dog and it was awesome. I will be back here for sure.

Even though it was after Christmas, it was still an awesome experience. I truly wish more people knew about because it is so worth the time the money. It's the largest Christmas expedition on the East Coast and we've had great memories both times. This is our second year going and we enjoyed our time this year more than the first. The first part is you driving in your car as you see all of the super cool light fixtures while listening to Christmas music that corresponds to the lights. The kids (and us), we're in love with the different themes that we saw along the way. Very vibrant and bold colors that really don't do it justice through a camera lens. It's something you truly do have to see in person to get the full picture. There's also a movie playing on the Jumbotron that you can listen to while you're riding around or you can park and watch the movie with your family. This year we did the VIP skip line for $96. I will say that it seems as if in the VIP there wasn't as many light fixtures while riding in the car as there was in previous years. I'm not sure if we seen less exhibits because our route was shorter. That would be our only complaint. You do pay by a car/ van so I would say if you could take as many people with you in one vehicle. Once you get to the halfway point there, there's an area where you can park and then you can get out. Here is part two where you go to all of the different vendors that are inside the heated area. There's so much to do. You can take pictures with Santa. You can get your character made until cartoon portrait . There's free events where kids can make Christmas ornaments win prizes color take pictures with the themed Christmas tree trees (that were so so cute by the way.) They had a bar for the adults and hot chocolate and popcorn for the kids. When you go outside of the tent, there's part 3, a world with outdoor activities. There is an area for Christmas carols tubing that had artificial snow. Theres bonfires with s'mores. Ann area with a bunch of food trucks to choose from. There's hundreds of photo opportunities where there are huge, beautiful light fixtures that you can walk and see along the track. It's literally something for the entire family to enjoy or even a date night if there's something that you would like to do. This is something that my family will continue to do in the years to come.

Typically we avoid holiday crowds (that's to keep the season merry, ya know?), & I'd heard from other friends that the crowds this year were excessive. However, I would recommend going to this on a weekday that isn't too busy or too close to Thanksgiving or Christmas. Was a unique and fun way to hang in the car celebrating yuletide while watching artistry of lights and music with friends. Was exciting for the men in the car to know we were driving on the actual speedway too. Glad our driver didn't take us up on to 'high bank' of the roads as he promised to do earlier. Know that you won't be able to hop out of your car to take pics or use the bathroom there, and there is no swag to purchase. (Would have loved that option as a unique gift for friends.) Note: If you go, you're supposed to turn your head lights off so they don't detract from the light show. Was a bummer when folks kept theirs on, because the headlights would sometimes be blinding! Also note: If you go during a wknd- which is more expensive- there is a place for kids to go (& I'm guessing you can THEN get out of your car). They also usually show a Christmas-themed movie on those nights...not sure how exactly that works, but sounded fun.

Cars are fast, responsive and racing was competitive. It was our first time to K-1, and the staff were helpful and friendly. Food available and fine too. Main issue we encountered was very slow sing-up/registering and payment when entering. There should have been two people working the front desk. Not cool to wait 30 min on a non-busy day just to get in. Maybe it was related to holiday staffing. Nevertheless, we left with smiles on our faces and will be back.

Subject: Formal Complaint - Unsafe Conditions, Unprofessional Conduct, and Denied Refund…read more I am writing to formally complain about a serious safety issue and unprofessional conduct I experienced during my recent visit to K1 Speed. During my race session, the race was stopped multiple times because other drivers spun out. Staff stated these interruptions were necessary for safety. However, during the same session, I was struck multiple times at high speed by other karts, and the race was not stopped, nor was the situation addressed. This inconsistent handling of safety created a situation that felt unsafe and poorly managed. Because of the repeated interruptions and the collisions I experienced, I requested a refund after the race. My request was denied without a clear or reasonable explanation. What made the situation worse was the way my concerns were handled by an employee named Gavin. Instead of listening or attempting to resolve the issue, he spoke to me in an unprofessional manner and went on a prolonged rant blaming customers for what was happening on the track. I felt dismissed and disrespected rather than assisted. This is not acceptable customer service. I paid for a safe and well-managed racing experience and did not receive one. I expect this matter to be reviewed seriously. I am requesting a refund for this session and a response explaining how this situation will be addressed to prevent similar incidents in the future. I look forward to your prompt response.

First, let's talk parking -- or more accurately, the complete lack of any organized system whatsoever. Getting in was a disaster, but leaving? Somehow even worse. Expect to sit in endless lines questioning every life decision that led you there. You could probably attend a second concert in the amount of time it takes to escape the parking lot. The food options were exactly what you'd expect: overpriced, mediocre, and somehow still disappointing even with low expectations. Nothing says "great venue experience" like paying stadium prices for gas-station-quality food. But the absolute worst part of the night was the nonstop parade of drunk patrons stumbling up and down the aisles the ENTIRE show. If you're unlucky enough to sit near an aisle in the front sections, congratulations -- your view will constantly be blocked by people carrying beers and wandering around like they're in a shopping mall instead of at a concert. Apparently the venue has zero interest in controlling aisle traffic or making sure people who actually paid to WATCH the show can see it. At some point it felt less like a concert and more like watching intoxicated traffic patterns in real time. Maybe instead of letting drunk people roam endlessly back and forth during performances, staff could direct them to walk around the seating sections instead of directly in front of everyone trying to enjoy the show. Overall: terrible parking, bad food, constant distractions, obstructed views, and an unbelievably frustrating experience from start to finish. We absolutely will not be returning.
