Great location on the docks. It was a busy summer night and we were able to find a restaurant that could accommodate us. The food is good but takes a long time to appear. Sunday night 8:15, Table of 3, finished 10:15, £71. Very hot inside (it was 18 degrees outside), chairs uncomfortable, no service or water offered for 15 minutes. Recommend you order everything right away and if getting an appetizer ask them not to hold the main course. The waiter was apologetic and nice enough but they seem to be in the habit of apologizing here. The kitchen was definitely overworked (I could hear the cooks shouting in frustration) and were rushing out some nice wood fired pizzas undercooked (still white). Other food passing by looked good. The baked pasta with pork meatballs was good. The pasta with venison ragu was tasty but had barely any meat. The pasta noodles were slightly overcooked and not very hot. I thought it was a kids meal. Found this in the corner of Katherine docks! Beautiful place and very friendly staff. I opted for outdoor sitting in the cold night, the staff was polite to check on me twice that I was okay and not cold. The pizza primavera was good, the artichokes were too big for me to bite into making it a clumsy bite. The tiramisu was perfectly moist and good flavour, could've been a tad bit sweeter. read more

Surprisingly good Italian for being a chain-restaurant. Dined on New Year's Day for dinner, understandably busy. Staff worked swiftly and efficiently to have us seated and served in a timely manner. Using a pre-paid meal card given to us as being part of a large group tour to London. I wasn't expecting much as far as taste and quality, however I was pleasantly surprised. I was expecting along the lines of Olive Garden quality. It was definitely way better than that! Ordered Arancini for appetizer, ravioli as my main. Daughter had pasta w bacon, peas, mushroom and cream sauce. Her dish was divine! Had brownie and ice cream for dessert. This is one of the worst meal I have in London. The roasted mushroom Brindisi is bad, a few mushrooms on two pieces of soggy bread. The bruschetta is some cherry tomatoes on top of some white tasteless bread, not toasted, the seafood pasta is a disaster, I basically spit out the mussels as it is bad and the pasta is not cooked and it is still in its dry form. This is my 2nd time visiting. Such a fantasic location with views over the docks. Restraunt is nicely laid out with the kitchen central to the room so you can peek at dough being tossed which gives it a nice authentic feel. We had to wait a while to be sat down... This happened last time as well. The door seems to be the opposite side to where the staff tend to be. We managed to flag someone down though and the food was fresh, tastey and prompt. I had a gluten free base on a ham and egg pizza. I was a little worried as I wasn't sure if I'd feel like I was eating 'fake pizza' but it was delicious and I would def recommend. The loos are slightly awkward to find as they're upstairs and around a corner - feels slightly like you're going somewhere you're not meant to. Just off the water in St. Katharine's docks, We went there whilst staying at the Tower Hotel. Very attentive waitstaff and we were seated right away. We started with the calamari and the an olive sampler. The octopus was very fresh, the batter light, and the quantity was enough for the 2 of us. The olives were good too, but could have used some bread with them. For entrees, we went with the Pasta Della Casa, which is casareccia pasta, roasted chicken, pancetta, baby spinach & riserva cheese, served with a mushroom sauce. It did not disappoint - creamy, crispy, full of flavor, it went so well with the Peroni I had with it. My wife went with the Super Zucca Salad, which is butternut squash, goat's cheese, mint, courgettes, lentils, green beans & mixed leaves, tossed in a white balsamic dressing. It also had two small fires bread pieces that were a nice addition. The entrees were again served quickly, were off nice proportions, and were delectable. The service was friendly but sooooo slow. First we had to wait in line for a while even if there was plenty of empty tables inside (maybe everyone wanted to sit outside, I don't know). They were nice and arranged the tables so that we could sit with our friends and a baby. The waitress took our order quickly but that was it. Wow. Very decent find amongst a plethora of casual dining. The lasagna was in a Demi-béchamel sauce and it thickened as the 1000* platter cooled. Magnificent! The cheeses were from three different countries and tasted very good. My wife enjoyed a chicken and mushroom risotto plate that she described as bliss on a fork. Ok. She never said that. But it was very tasty. All of the wait staff and managers were very attentive and didn't mind that we took our time and wanted Ice with our drinks (like many Americans expect). First off, let me start by saying that I generally really like Zizzi's. I regularly go to the Central St Giles branch, and have never been disappointed before. That's why when choosing a restaurant at St Katherine's Dock, we decided on Zizzi's...we were hungry and wanted a reliable choice! It was one of the worst meals I've ever had. We started with the Arancini balls and the garlic bread with cheese and caramelised onions. First they brought us the wrong garlic bread, and when we got the correct one, I wish I'd stuck with the wrong plate! I've had this dish multiple times before and enjoyed it, but this one was covered in so much soggy caramelised onions, that it was all you could taste. Pretty unedible to me.. For mains, I went with my usual choice of Pappadelle Pasta with Chicken in a tomato, rosemary, onion and mushrooms sauce. I usually love this dish...there are even times when I crave this dish! However, I took two bites of it here and sent it back straight away. It was tasteless...completely tasteless! I didn't ask for anything in place of it, as I didn't think they would be able to put together an edible dish! The whole experience actually put me off eating for the rest of the night. The waiter apologised (and to be fair on him..he actually did a good job), and said the problems were probably because it was very busy that night and the kitchen was rushed. Only the outdoor terrace was full that whole night!! Upstairs remained shut. If they can't handle that amount of customers, I don't know how they can function as a restaurant! We came in around 12:30 on a weekday, so in the middle of lunch. There were plenty of people and plenty of open tables. So, it was active but not overwhelmingly so. Didn't seem like they had more than two people working the front of the house. There was a hostess who was also serving and a bartender who was also serving. Maybe I caught them on a day when they were short a couple people. It was hard to get service. We sat for quite a while before anyone took our order. The food came out on time and it was really quite tasty. I had the mushroom risotto and tried the tuscan potatoes. (Seems that putting rosemary on potatoes is all the rage these days). Anyways, when it was time to leave we had to wait a long time to flag down a server to take the credit card, and then the credit card machine didn't work. So it was rather frustrating to have so little attention and service. But the food was good. Worth going back. My colleague had been there before and was surprised at how slow it was. First, let me just say that the location of this restaurant on Yelp is totally incorrect. The actual location (St Katerine's Docks) is in the opposite direction from where it is stated on Yelp... My daughter and I shared a pizza and ravioli. Yum! We could have/should have shared just the pizza because I ate too much. My grandson (9 years old) and husband both had lasagne. Grandson had it tied for number one best lasagne ever. Husband's had mostly cheese, very very little meat and pasta. Cheese was soupy. Maybe he got corner of pan? Looking for a late meal whilst staying near Tower Bridge and booked into Zizzi in St Katherine's Dock. Pretty busy when I arrived, bumped into a friend of one of my daughters from Leeds! Small world? Back to my review, didn't want too much as 9.30 dinner went for courgette fritti and picanti pizza, asked for fritti first but both came together but never mind. Both dishes very tasty and pizza could have done 2 people, i managed it all! Good to see they did a 500ml carafes of a selection of wine good for 1 person. We tried to book a table for four, but were told there was no space to book, however, they told us to come down anyway. Confused, we turned up for dinner but were left standing in the tiny entranceway for 10 minutes. The maitre de kept giving us what seemed to be code words and signals - they might as well have been, anyway, as we had no idea what was happening. We tried to get some information: "Can you please just tell us if we have a table, or else we'll find somewhere else." In the end she said "Come back in 20 minutes" (followed by more coded hand signals). So we did. We were a little put out by all of this but when we returned, we were whisked to a table, and after that Zizzi were able to win us over. The service was fantastic, the food delicioso, and the ambiance was very welcoming. The wait staff were friendly and quick, and the menu was fab. This is a cozier, warmer venue than other Zizzis we've been to (notably the Tower Hill restaurant, which was terrible in every way). We live close by so will certainly be back again, and so far, we were impressed. We'll just have to make sure we book well in advance to prevent any weird hand signals and "The crow flies at night" stuff. read more

I went there for a birthday meal I was being treated and really I was quite disappointed. The service was excruciatingly slow and it really spoilt the evening for me. The starter and salad were good squid rings cooked to perfection and seasoned just right and the salad dressed well and crunchy. But the main course! I had the seafood pasta and have rarely, outside of school dinners, come across such overcooked pasta. I did not complain as I had waited so long for the course I was just hungry. The sauce tasted vaguely of Heinz soup but the ingredients looked OK and the mussels were tasty although the prawns were a bit overcooked. For dessert I had Limoncello which was served well with an iced glass no complaints there! It wasn't cheap yet the food and service combined were really no better than average and I'm feeling generous! I won't go back unless someone else foots the bill! read more

Been to Zizzi 3 times now and have in general really enjoyed my experience. The service has been consistently good. My first meal, penne vodka, was WAY too spicy, however everything else I had tried (veggie antipasti platter and cheesy garlic bread) were very good! The second time I had the Ravioli di Capra and was very impressed; very good dish :) The last time I had Fettucine alla Carbonara, and I wasn't super excited about it. It was just good. The reason this doesn't get less stars though is because my partner has consistently loved what he gets which is Rigatoni Con Pollo e Funghi. I just haven't been able to find my gem yet, but I'm sure I will :) read more

Had a business lunch here on a Thursday. Its a new restaurant in the St Katherines dock fold. Really nice location, seating outside as well. I believe its a new concept Zizzi and had a great range on the menu. All four of us were happy with our meals, the pizza and pasta looked great. It also has an open kitchen so you can see food being freshly prepared. The wine list is quite extensive with a good range. It was good value for money and I would definitely eat there again. read more

Located near Canary Wharf (about a 15 mins walk) is this once busy branch of the popular restaurant chain. It's probably a bit quieter now half of the workers in Canary Wharf have been laid off. Service is generally good, but the few times I've been here it's been very busy and somewhat stuffy. Fortunately I've found the staff to be quite nice and helpful when it comes to making special requests for your food (i.e. asking for no mushrooms in a dish). I love the brushetta genovese and really recommend it, there's nothing like the lovely chicken in pesto on lightly toasted bread. Also the chicken rissotto is nice, and the lasagne's not too bad either. Sure, c.£9 for a dish can be a burden on your wallet, but if you dine here on a day when special offers such as 2for1 meals is on, it really is a hell of a bargain. read more

4 of us dined at Zizzi's for a birthday. Firstly, the phone was ringing constantly and it was right next to us and the staff did not bother to pick it up once. They just continually walked passed it. It was very loud and intrusive and I heard the table next to us saying how annoying it is too. Zizzi's were obviouslly full but could have taken the phone off the hook or muted the ringer but didn't. Then three of us were served starters and the other was told they had ran out of bread so would have to make more for his starter. If they knew that, they should have made it and bought all our starters together as the three of us were finished ours by the time the 4th was bought out. Next, I personally ordered a Pizza with 'Roquito Pepppers' as an extra topping (which I had to pay an extra £1 for). My pizza was bought out with Jalepenos on. Jalepenos are green and hot whereas Roquitos are red and sweet. We did not wish to send it back as it would have meant delaying the evening even further yet I still had to pay for the wrong topping. Also, the receipt stated 'chillis' as my extra topping. I asked for Roquitos. So the staff are not very attentive. There was also a very long wait between ordering and courses. Overall, we enjoyed the food but were not quite satisfied with service so I emailed Zizzi's to complain. My main complaint was the phone ringing constantly as it ruined the visit for us. The purpose of my complaint was not to receive a refund or anything free, but to receive a reply stating whether or not they would do anything about the phone ringing in the future as this would affect out choice of whether to go there again. My initial complaint email was replied to by "Iain Moffat-Customer Experience" saying they would look in to this and get back to me. This was 4 weeks ago and they never bothered to look in to anything or get back to me. That is why I would not visit Zizzi's at St Katherine's Dock again and that is why they are getting a 1-star review. Our initial experience probably would have rated as a 2-3 star review but the fact that they have no customer service aftwerwards means we would not trust another visit their to be a pleasant experience. read more
