Our front yard is very small and we have an even smaller patch of turf that we wanted some help mowing/fertilizing. I was satisfied with their pricing structure but for the fact that they wanted to charge an insanely high hourly rate for hand pulling weeds. I called to talk to them about this and to point out that there weren't many weeds that were grown but a lot of fledgling weeds which was the whole reason we needed the help (we handpick / dig up more mature weeds all the time). We reached an agreement we were comfortable with and then when they sent us an upgraded bid, they still had a crazy high amount baked into the bid for handpicking weeds. I called to ask if they could get an eyes on the property before we approved that high amount (as I was comfortable with them spraying instead of handpicking) and they said they didn't have time to send anyone out and that the height of the weed will determine whether they spray or handpick, then they told me we could handpick the weeds that were taller ourselves if we wanted to, which was pretty upsetting. I felt very nickle and dimed by these folks given that our yard is not very big and the cost including the handpicking was the highest bid we received by far. We wanted to work with them but they were so concerned about a team of landscapers having to pick maybe 5-6 weeds, they set a very high price. I even sent them a picture of the yard and they even agreed there arent many weeds but still insisted on the high handpicking charge. Very disappointed.

She called me in April 2019 and asked, "Do you want to include Tree Spraying this year?" I answered, yes please. - In June I observed their crew at our immediate next door neighbors house spraying their trees. Figured they'd come here next? Not. Never came over? So I called. I was told, "Well the house you observed 'down the street' gets all three (3) spraying services. You only get The Broad Spectrum (?)." I answered, "Well, they are not 'down the street'. They are right next door. Who choose the one spraying service for us? Wasn't me." Then she goes, "I'm so tired of customers yelling at me. - I was new last year!" ????? I said, "Miss, I'm not yelling at you. Well OK then, let's just forget including the tree spraying portion of your services. Just cancel that, OK?" And she goes, "Would you like to just completely cancel all of your service with us? Cancel your account?" Me, "You know what? That's a good idea. Cancel all of the service."

Two hours after I made the call for adjustments and repairs he showed up and within 40 minutes he had me back to oasis status with all necessary adjustments and repairs completed. He was about half the price of competitors and was very knowledgeable and efficient. I paid via Venmo and he sent me a receipt immediately. It would not have been pretty if I had to shut the irrigation off in this type of heat and Devon came to the rescue. They brought their own equipment and even hauled away the trimmings. I had some 6ft weeds growing on the side of the house and they got those all pulled and got rid of them for me. I was told it needed aeration, and fertilizer. I requested weekly mowing/trimming, and I also had a broken sprinkler head that needed to be replaced. He said he thought he could come out on Tuesday or Wednesday which was greatly appreciated with a broken sprinkler head requiring my system to be off a couple more days. I quickly got an estimate for the work and asked for it to be detailed so I would know what i was paying for. His app didn't allow that so I don't know. Come Monday or Tuesday, I am told he can come Friday. Ok, I can wait a few more days. Tuesday night I contacted them because I had read aeration might be bad in the summer heat. I was told I would get a call ... No call Friday morning I got an invoice (with the same quote as before) for the work and he hadn't even come out to my house yet. Friday, he texts to confirm the plan and came around 10:30. I couldn't be there but all the work was outside so I didn't worry about it. I came home to a scalped lawn. We are in a drought with water restrictions. I keep the grass a little longer to keep moisture in the ground. I don't see evidence if aeration. The sprinkler head doesn't match the others. It was raining so I couldn't test it right away. I texted and asked why it was so short. I was told that was standard height. I asked about aeration and they said it didn't need it. I was told that was part of the original quote. After multiple texts from him, he sent me a new quote, dropping 50$. He was clearly mad but I'm trying not to pay for something that didn't happen. I also said I would check the sprinkler the next day (today). I came out to a sprinkler head shooting water across the sidewalk into my plants. Clearly doesn't match the adjacent sprinklers. Water running down my sidewalk. So I texted a picture and said I wasn't doing to pay for a wrong sprinkler head. He came back angry and telling me I needed to treat veterans better and "he knew was going to do this". I'm not sure why he is upset. I have to hire someone else to fix it now (or do it myself). He didn't offer to fix it either. An apology and an offer to fix it goes a long way. But no. I was threatened with "treating veterans poorly". There is no correlation. I am praying for a job. I asked for it to be done correctly. I was never mean. I love our veterans. I was happy to give him a chance, bit this has not been worth it. Meeting with a new company today.
