It's been more than ten years. It's not Wiki Wiki any more and it's not $5 any more but it's still here and it's still cleaning cars. I was being driven around by my daughter and noticed that not only was the outside of her car a dirty mess, the inside was a dirty mess. I told her to pull in to Zips and I sprung for a proper car wash. A short wait at the machine to pay and then the car was being pushed through the tunnel of washing. Quite thorough and they do some fun with the lights to keep it from being boring. I somehow managed to engage the rear view camera which was fun for a bit. Outside, all of the vacuum stations were being used. We ended up waiting a good ten minutes before any of them became available. While daughter vacuumed and emptied trash, I took the floor mats over to the pounding machine to release the dust and dirt. The car is now much, much cleaner. The inside is completely clean. Still disappointing. The brushes don't clean well, and miss a lot of the car. The attendants at the front didn't mop down the car - they barely even sprayed it. I noticed the wash brushes missing a lot on the car in front of me and then my own car after the wash. They also don't regulate how long people are at the vacuums, so you tend to have to wait for one to open up. The vacuum that we did finally get to, well, it barely sucked...and let's be honest, for car mats you want a vacuum that sucks. I think, unfortunately, I'm taking this location off my list. read more

I went in 9/29/2024 and they no longer prebrush your car. I was waiting and a man yelled at me to pull forward from the door of the office and then went back inside. My car somehow became dirtier than it was before! In addition the trash cans were over flowing. Definitely avoid this location if you can! read more

I've had a membership at this location for years. It's next door to aldi, which I'm at weekly, so it was chosen primarily for convenience. When things work properly, I liked it. But that is rarely the case. The majority of the time, there's at least 1-2 things not working in the tunnel (most of the time it's the brush at the end that's supposed to come down to brush the top of the car. It spins but never lowers so doesn't actually touch the car, even on larger SUVs. Sometimes the side brushes are broken too), and of the roughly 20 vacuum stations, I'd guess that at any point, probably 5 work to the level that you need to clean out pet hair. The others either have an orange cone blocking them and are fully turned off, or just are so weak they might as well be turned off. I'm actually moving and won't be near a location anymore, so i finally went to deal with canceling. The location itself directed me to a phone number. But when you call that phone number, you get an IVR, can navigate to cancellations (I've also tried other options with the same result), only to get a message that says "no support agents are available to help. Please call back later." No ability to wait on hold. I'll be working through my credit card to get this charge to stop, but would highly recommend never getting started. There's a Sam's car wash not far down south blvd where the equipment actually works and it's not a complete scam. read more

Sale# 93936040476. I had noticed after washes 1 and 2 that my car wasnt clean. it still had black dust all over it. I just thought maybe my car was super dirty the first 2 times since having moved to Charlotte. After the third wash I realized the car was too dirty to leave without saying something. I went in and there stood 3 men. Finally one addressed me. I explained my car was still filthy. I had come three weeks in a row with the same result. But I went to a different car wash and the dirt came off. The response from one of your employees after looking at my receipt was as Follows: Employee: Well you just got the basic wash. Me: and.... Employee: well its really not supposed to get it clean. Me: The car wash. isnt supposed to wash my car? nah you're basically just paying for the water not the chemicals. I have been a member at this location for a couple of years. I find myself constantly frustrated with the extremely poor service. I contacted the franchise headquarters, and they provided the name and contact information for the Charlotte, NC district manager. I messaged him only to never be contacted by him. A few months ago, I went to go through the wash at 7:00pm. They were supposed to close that day at 8:00pm. They were already closed an hour early because it had been a "slow day." Recently, I went by in the afternoon on my lunch break and waited 5 minutes at the entrance to the wash. No one ever came to motion me in and start the wash. I had to back up, park my car and go inside. I found 3 employees all in uniform sitting around talking. They seemed agitated when I explained what I needed. Today, I went through the wash and intended to vacuum my car. Once I exited the wash, I realized half the vacuum bays were closed on a Sunday afternoon at 5:00pm (again they close today at 8:00pm). Two other cars were already waiting on bays to open up. After waiting 15 minutes, I finally gave up and went down the street to a pay per visit wash and had to pay to have the car washed and vacuumed. Unless you just have extraordinary patience and literally no expectations when paying for a service, I wouldn't spend the money to join here. I'd keep looking for another business offering the same services that will hopefully be better at meeting baseline service needs. read more

I was just driving along Tyvola, minding my own business and BAM, I saw their sign for a free $15 car wash. I immediately turned around to get in line along with everyone else who spotted their sign. Even though I got a free wash-their prices seem pretty reasonable ranging from $5 to $15 for a wash and $20 to $35 for a monthly unlimited pass. They have tons of vacuums to use right after you get your car clean, the way they have it set up kind of reminds me of a Sonic! I'd definitely go back again, for the cheap prices and the fact that when someone asks me where I'm going I can say "Wiki Wiki" -it's just fun to say! read more

I have took several of my cars to this place for a good wash and free vacuum and have always been happy with the results. Today I took my 2017 Accent Hyundai and was very disappointed to what happen to my car. As I was wiping my grill in the front of my car I noticed that my car was missing paint and that another area looked like it had water under the paint. I believe the pressure of the wash cycle found a chip area and got under it and push the paint away from that area and if the wash had lasted a little longer I would have lost more paint off my car. Needless to say will not be running my car though this type of system again. Didn't mention it to management because they would have claim that they are not responsible and that it most likely was there before I came there. Know the pressure of the equipment before allowing cars to drive though a system like that. read more

I figured I'd try out the one month pass for $10 to see how the washes/location convenience was throughout that time. For starters, accessing the location here is really bad. You can really only use it if you plan to turn right out of the car wash upon leaving. It is impossible to turn left onto Old Pineville Road and head back north towards Charlotte. An exit toward Tyvola Rd would fix this issue, but it's gated off and inaccessible. The day my account was to be charged for the second month, I called Zips to cancel and they said you have to request cancellation a week in advance, they refused to refund the amount set to be charged (the day I was calling!) The individual on the phone said that my account info was not saved and input (email, phone, car make/model) by the staff and is still to this day blank, so I would never have even been able to log on and connect my membership number to an online account and check renewal dates. As for the wash itself, it's underwhelming. Bugs stay on the bumper and smudges don't leave the glass. Tire shine is the only worthwhile aspect. The first time I came they provided towels for hand drying the cars. I only saw them out that one time and have yet to see them return. Since Zips has charged me for another month, I'll go several more times and return to this review to upload photos of the poor job it tends to do. Zips Car Wash Kannapolis: I was very disappointed with my Zips experience today. I will be taking my car elsewhere in the future. This location is just ghetto. The associate met me at the pay kiosk and tried to sell me a membership. I said No, and he continued to insist. I still said No. The drive thru portion was acceptable. I had purchased the $20 wash. After the drive thru, I pulled around to work on the interior. Out of all the vacuums, only three hoses were functioning. Also the awnings leak water onto your car. It does this even on dry sunny days so I don't know what's up with that. The cart with the towels and spray cleaner was not out for customers to use. Same as last time. Parking lot was littered with trash. An associate should blow the lot and keep trash picked up. However three associates were standing inside doing nothing. While I was cleaning the windows on my car, one of the hoses collapsed from the coupler up by the awning. Thank God it didn't hit me in the head or fall on my car and damage it. Other customers came and tried to vacuum and commented about how no hoses were available. They pulled off. What a hassle to have plans to clean up your car and you can't even get it done. No signs posted on the nonworking vacuums, no warning from the associates. Before I got into my car to leave, I had to remove my shoes so that I wouldn't track dirt and trash onto my clean floor mats. At least the mat cleaner was operational. This place is a dive. Wiki Wiki.... Yeah the car wash is just ok enough to get the job done and satify you for a little bit. For what ever reason their brushes at the Tyvola Rd. location just never get my passenger side of the car very well, but the one off of Wilkinson Blvd really does great so I guess it's just a matter of the location unfortunately Tyvola Rd is closer to me. Honestly if I didn't do the monthly fast pass I would end up being not very happy at all but with the fast pass I wind up going a couple of times a week and get my moneys worth. I mean yes the car gets clean but it just isn't that clean sometimes the bird poop doesn't come all the way off it probably needs another run through, also I wish they just had a bucket or something to help with the brake dust on my rims just drives me nuts seeing that everything else is clean but just need a bucket of soap and water to clean off the rims with a rag. I had purchased a wash subscription for approximately two years with Wikiwash/Zips. During a wash, their track malfunctioned while my car was midway through the tunnel and pushed it into the suv ahead. The incident left my car with a dent in the front bumper. I completed the incident report while there and was told that someone would be reach out. No one did so I submitted a complaint by email after several unanswered calls and no outreach from them. This business did not resolve the issue even upon my feedback expressing my disappointment and dissatisfaction. This carwash is great. Basic wash is $6 which does a good job of getting your ride clean as a whistle. It also has a drying cycle at the end. Note it is not touch less in case you have a roof rack. This also included use of the vacuums which you use yourself. The vacuums are not timed, which i appreciate as a dog owner to get all that hair removed. The receipt will print a date a few days out you can come back to use the vacuums in case you do not have time. Overall for the value and what you get it is not a bad deal at all. This is a new location in Charlotte located at the corner of Tyvola Rd and Old Pineville Rd across the street from Keffer Pontiac. This location offers free vacuums with every wash, and they do offer a variety of washes to choose from ranging $5.00 - $15.00. They do offer monthly packages as well, for high volume users and those who just want to maintain a clean car. Would highly recommend this location, while it is not touch free, it is very gentle on your finish. The staff was very friendly, and should you need assistance, they are readily available. You're looking to spend about what you would at a gas station for a car wash. The process is quick and gets the car clean, not perfectly detailed, but just as good as Autobell for half the $. Once out, there is plenty of room for you to touch up the exterior and vacuum the interior, even a place to hang the mats. All in all, its a great concept. read more

I shop at Aldi and Costco often so I would see Wiki Wiki all the time, but never stopped until a few weeks ago. I was a little confused with the payment at the kiosk. Once I figured it out and paid it's pretty obvious where you need to go next. If you are in need of a quick car wash - this did the trick. I liked that it was SO reasonable. I got my entire car washed for $8. You clean your own mats (for free!), which is a little different, but I guess that's what kept the prices down. Unfortunately I left the battery on in the truck so the little could watch a movie and not yell at me. Finished up, noticed the truck was clean but certainly not spotless. Went to start up and nothing. Starter was clicking but battery was dead. Curse you Monsters University! Headed in to the office to ask if they might have jumper cables. The manager hopped up and says he had one better, a jump box! He grabbed it, headed outside and got under the hood. Had me charge for a couple minutes and the battery turned right over. As he was closing the hood he says, I notice you've got some bugs still on the front, let me have them run you through again. We go through again and he had the attendants with the pressure washer go over everything.
