This is a very scammy company. Basically, they won't meet any of the commitments they make. They didn't bring a lock, hired terrible packers, delivered the wrong shell, If you had a STIHL Chainsaw oil in your unit and a big screen TV your stuff went to Pacific Grove California. After this, they didn't know where my pod was, and it took them a couple of weeks to find it. I didn't get 50 or 20 dollars a day from them, only 200$ for the missed delivery after paying them 5,000$. They then unpacked my shell without my permission and put it in a smaller truck highlighting the packers incompetence. Everything was dirty, smelled bad, and was incredibly beat up. Here is the issue, I am basically without recourse despite a huge financial hit. Zippy Shell doesn't stand behind any of their promises. If you read the fine print, they take no responsibility for delays so no matter what they tell you they don't have to be on time and likely won't be. My things were delivered almost a month late. Their agreement has promises of security in big print, but once you put your stuff in the chickenwire cage they can do just about anything to it that they want and take no responsibility for any item in your shell. So basically someone will incompetently throw your stuff in a truck with a chicken wire shell and that is about where their commitment to you stops. After all this they charged me overtime today for the movers, I believe to upack my shell and put it into the smaller truck which I in no way authorized. Can i please rate in the negatives? this company on a national level sucks! we signed a contract with them to move us cross country. 1) They told us the wrong size container. so we had to leave almost half of our furniture behind... around $1200 worth. 2) They said they would deliver it to our new home and unload it.... It was delivered to a warehouse 2 hours away from us in another city. The warehouse said they couldn't service our area. 3) They said they wouldn't charge us a storage fee. since it was being delivered to our home.....They in fact charged us a months storage fee. and wont refund it. 4) They said they would get someone to deliver it from the warehouse in another city. but we found out that they were just asking drivers who happened to stop at that specific warehouse if they would deliver it. They had not "Searched" Their company for drivers. just mentioned as an after thought. 5) They are refusing to give us a satisfactory refund. Our bill was almost $6000. They are offering a measly $200 refund. Which was the cost of the storage fee they said we wouldn't have to pay. TL;DR:: Zippy Shell Company are a bunch of con-artists. Don't. Just really don't. Your salesperson will tell you when your stuff will arrive at your destination. It will be wrong. Your movers will show up 3 hours late or not at all unless you call zippy shell after they no-show no-call at the scheduled time. Your shell will arrive at your destination 2-4 weeks later than scheduled. Zippy shell will tell you that it arrived only 1 week late. They will offer you $20 dollars per day late, but other people you know will get 50. For every issue you have, there is no escalation path - eventually you'll talk to a manager, they won't help. They'll say they'll call you back when they've talked to dispatching. They won't. Don't. Use. Zippy Shell. Say it with me. "DON'T USE ZIPPY SHELL" At least it was cheap. read more

I'd recommend everyone who had a bad experience with Zippy Shell to notify the Better Business Bureau (BBB.org). It's my greatest wish that they lose their accreditation and implode like so much garbage. I used Zippy Shell for a long distance move. The pick up went well, but everything went off the rails after that. I was lied to about the expectancy date for my furnishings to arrive to my new location. I was told the representative "misspoke, and was being retrained". I asked when the new ETA was and they quoted another two weeks. I asked them to confirm the location of my belongings at that time and they actually could not confirm that my belongings had even left my hometown. Within those next twos weeks I did not hear from them; I had to contact the company several times to make sure the items had left and were being directed to me. On the next expected delivery date I was told the delivery would be delayed another week because the third party delivery service they use was "down a forklift". I'd like to emphasize the fact that ONE forklift delayed delivery for a full week.. ONE fork lift brought this company to a grinding halt! During this move I was told (another lie) by another representative that they could compensate me -$50 per each late day; they did not. I was also made to sign an agreement that indicates two half (50%) payments; one half before pick-up and one half at drop-off. The agreement also clearly stated 'NO storage time/immediate delivery'. I was charged a month storage and the second payment I made was more than the first payment made. When I questioned the second payment I was directed to a hyper-link on the agreement (which is not part of the signed document) that indicates third party fees.. quite literally a hidden/undisclosed fee. Lastely, I experienced an unfortunate event during this move when my pet passed away. I don't blame this company for the passing of my pet, but the fact of the matter is that I had moved into an empty home and waited for my furnishings. My pets bed was part of those furnishings and it keeps me awake at night with the thought that my pet wasn't comfortable and did not recognize his surroundings before he passed. I'll never forgive myself for putting him through this move. I reported this company to BBB and did not get the outcome I had hoped for, but would like to urge others to do the same if you have similar experiences. I have found several more reviews like this one on different platforms: yelp & truepilot. This company is fraudulently representing themselves as a moving service and they are not one. They outright lied about their service dates/times/pricing. They contract third parties to move your belongings while not being responsible for the outcomes, which also leaves you without recourse when your belongings are damaged or go missing. Please do not give this company your business. They're cheap and there's a reason for it. read more

Would not recommend, the whole process took one month door to door from Florida to Michigan. Keep in mind, this was all paid for a six months in adavanced. There are several fees you should be ready for: gas surcharge, fees for movers, and storage fees that are outside of your contract. Would not recommend this service ever again or to anyone. Damaged belongings too, a shattered bookshelf. Hand stains all over furniture from mover sweat. Overall very bad. read more

This IS NOT Pods. They do not offer all the services they list/show on their website. Bring a trailer, load it up in 3-days or less, and take it back to their place for storage. Climate controlled?? They advertise driveway containers like Pods, but NOT AT THIS LOCATION. Why mislead folks, if you are only part-service get your own website that reflects what you really offer. read more

This company is terrible. Do not ever use them. They will promise you great timing, and then fail to deliver every time. I have had to reschedule multiple times and I still don't have my stuff and it's been 2 weeks since they said it would be delivered. They won't even comp movers because my friends can't take more time off because of this scheduling garbage. read more

We're a family with a little baby and we're basically "homeless" now, with an empty apartment, where we can't possibly live, spending hundreds on hotels, thanks to Zippy Shell. We're moving from Texas to Michigan and we were promised that our container would arrive at our new place any time between April 26 and 29. But here I am, on April 30, writing this review from a hotel, after being told that they can't make the delivery any sooner than May 2. We had a feeling this would happen because we never heard from them since they picked up our container 15 days ago. We kept calling to get updates but they rarely answered the phone. When they did, they had absolutely no information on the whereabouts of our container. About 4 days ago, they finally admitted that the container had not been shipped yet. But they promised it would still arrive in time. Well, it did not. And it's just absurd that my baby girl can't sleep in her crib because of their complete incompetence. If you think Zippy Shell is a good value, think again, because they might make you spend hundreds on hotels. Better spend that money on a realible company that can do the job in time. read more
