A colleague decided to order a Jenga sized pile of take away pizzas for no reason whatsoever & what's an Idler to do? We chomped through a bitingly spicy American Hot one, one with rocket & thyme, a cheese & garlic one (yawn) and one with parma ham. Thin bases, fresh ingredients, light and big too. This place is also very good value; I had a risotto there for lunch a while ago & it was as good as you'd get anywhere for a very modest price. Investigate, gang!

Also, the restaurant goes back quite a way and most diners seem to prefer being away from the viewing public. The tables are tucked neatly away, creating quite an intimate ambience, though I wouldn't want to be there if it got too busy! All the food was reasonably priced and the menu had enough choice to keep my fellow diners thinking. Worth a look in if you happen to be in the area.

(I dont like restaurants that add it, I prefer to have the option to want to) We shared a calamari and motzerella tomato salad to start..the calamari was fresh pieces (3 grilled with a taste of burnt garlic, I love garlic but not quite this taste) the salad was missing the basil which would have made a big difference. For mains I shared a pizza and a pasta. The carbonara was lovely no compaints there, the pizza was good, not great but good. I tried some of the veal bolognese, very sub standard. The toffee sponge with ice cream was gorgeous. Lovely setting but I give it 3 stars because italian is one of my favourite cusines and I am a harsh critic. I saw the chicken with mushroom/white wine on another table and that looked good. I was recommend this as far to say, dont expect amazing food but if you happen to be here for a meal you wont dislike.

We were here on a groupon deal so obviously they were trying to attract trade. The service was prompt and courteous, the attentiveness may have been because the waiting staff looked a little underworked! Our starters were OK, I had chargrilled squid and aubergine cooked well, good chargrilled flavour but the squid itself was not that flavoursome a good squid tastes slightly sweet but this one had no hint of sweetness. My partner had bruschetta which she said was fine but again not the tastiest and there were little chunks of garlic in it we are used to bruschetta where the garlic is merely wiped on the bread. Main courses were very good though, I had grilled king prawns on a saffron risotto the prawns were really well cooked with a great taste and there were plenty of them! The risotto was just al dente and again with a really good flavour. My partner has seafood linguine and she said it was one of the best seafood pastas she had ever had. It was loaded with seafood and the pasta was cooked well and the flavour was really good. It was a big portion as well and she couldn't finish it. I had a panna cotta for dessert and accompanied it with a home made fortified wine both were good. Because we were here on groupon it was quite reasonable but I think full price might be a bit steep maybe that was what was putting people off. This is no cheap and cheerful Italian restaurant, it is trying to be classy and upmarket. It is nearly there but perhaps a little more attention to the starters and the pricing will see people flocking through the doors. If you live in Wanstead, or close by, I'd give it a go and see what you think, it is worth the effort.

Didn't expect much from this place when we first found it but we were starving. Nice interior - upscale Italian modern theme. Friendly staff - helped us find parking in an area where there is no parking because everyone who shows up there is attending a convention, show, conference or party. Food was amazingly fresh and tasty. Wines were very good. Creative dishes and they even had my favorite Italian post dinner drink: grappa. If you are in the Excel exhibition area, must go here!

The drinks came quite quickly, but the Coke was half Coke and half water. We ordered an special menu for 8.25 comprising two courses. We had to wait a bit for the starter as there were a few tables that came before us. Fair enough. We had the onion and cheese mushrooms and chicken strips. The mushrooms were too oily but the strips were ok. I realised some of the other tables got the main course shortly afterwards or with the starter. Our main was still on hold as we had to wait 20 minutes! The two waiters left, meaning all the six-seven tables were unattended a couple of times, making it imposible to order anything else or ask how much our food was going to take. Even one of staff working inside of the restaurant came outside asking if anyone was actually working there. When our mains finally came I was quite disappointed with my pizza (quite average) and my boyfriend's burger (was just ok). I had to stand up to ask them for our bill as they seemed to ignore everybody and a table of teenagers were left there waiting to pay for around 15 minutes. We were in a hurry, so only took 4 minutes to get the bill from inside, then go inside again, came for our cash that we handed at the moment of receiving the bill and finally we were able to leave. I will definitely try something different if I go again to the O2.

My favourite experience has to be this week when I went alone the man who I presume to be the manager was pleasant, charming and helpful. I asked him to recommend me a pasta, and he made a couple of suggestions I chose the gorgonzola and pecan tagliatele, and oh my goodness it was incredible. The staff were attentive and smiling, even though I was eating alone and not spending a lot of cash. It was also lovely to hear Ciao, bella! when I left the restaurant, even though I'd been at work all day and feeling less bella than I'd ever felt before. It put a smile on my face! I would recommend this restaurant, the food is delicious and doesn't break the bank either. The only thing that could really improve the dining experience is to have some italian music playing in the background, to set a little more atmosphere.

Diners who came ahead of us were still seated but we were asked to pay the bill because 'the seat was needed' It was quite a shocking experience!! Friendly, attentive staff, apart from the hostess, who behaved as though we were lucky to get a table for 3, despite having reserved in advance. Big portions, so we only managed a main course each. We ordered one calzone pizza, one spaghetti carbonara and one big salad. (Slightly annoyed at having to wait several minutes for the salad while the other two meals were getting cold. Can it be that difficult to serve 3 people at the same moment?). Quality of food is fine, with a reasonable bill at the end. As mentioned by a previous reviewer, the big hollow box effect makes it rather noisy (even though the place was not even half full). I'd say it was a good place to bring children, as there is a wide enough menu to suit even the fussiest eater.

It was very busy so it was lucky we had booked in advance. For starters I had the bruschetta, this wasn't bruschetta it was just normal french stick with tomatos and onion on top, I wasn't impressed at all with the starter. What really irritated me, was that on the menu there were no V's next to any of the dishes, which meant I had to read every single dish to work out if it was Vegetarian or not (VERY VERY ANNOYING). I found a tomato dish and they said they would add roasted vegetables to it which I thought was great. The dish came out and it was very bland. It's one of the worst Italian dishes I have had. The service was very slow, even after the restaurant was half empty. The bill came to £42 for two of us. I definitely will not be going again any time soon.
