I am a home seller and was contacted by Mac Chinsemboon's partner, Amanda Kim, to schedule a showing, which we did. Then the day of the showing Amanda contacted me to cancel, which we did. Then an hour later she contacted me again to put it back on for the original time, which we did. Although I asked if she could do later, she was very specific about the time that she would be showing up with her client. And we agreed that I would be there at that time to show it to them. However, they showed up 15-20 minutes prior to that scheduled time and entered unannounced as I was still getting the home ready. Then to make matters worse, the client said to her: "This is not a townhouse. I said I was only interested in seeing townhouses." And then they immediately turned around and left, without any thanks or apologies. Keep in mind that the building is clearly a condominium from its structure and the unit is also reported multiples times as a condo on the MLS listing. And anyone who has ever gone through showings also knows the work and planning that goes into it and how frustrating it can be when its all done for nothing. After the client got into their car I asked Amanda how they could've scheduled this showing knowing the client was only interested in townhouses. She said she was only helping her partner, Mac Chinsomboon and she didn't know. I then contacted Mac's district manager, Jeffrey Onore, who assured me he would talk to Mac and find out how this could've happened. A day later I got an email from Jeffrey stating that this was not Mac or Amanda's fault, rather it was because the buyer was "over-eager." I could not believe this response. I find it deeply disturbing that Mac would either not know this client was not interested in condos, or that Mac would not know that our building was a condominium. I can't imagine what else a realtor should know if not at least those minimal facts. And then not to own up to the mistake and to blame it on the client is ever more astounding. I will never do business with ZipRealty after this extremely frustrating experience. read more
