This is the very first time I am ziplining and I am afraid of heights. Its my daughter's bday so I went for it and omg!!! I'm glad I did! The heights did not scared me at all! The tour was simply awesome and the guides were very trustworthy! I had so much fun! (I think I had more fun than my daughter)! It was exhilirarting! I would do it all over again now that I have the hang of it. Actually after the first two lines you will get an idea of how to maneuver and how to trust the ropes and the guides. Then, you will be asking for more!!! It was also perfect weather too! Not too hot and it did not rained. Me and my daughter wore matching vsport bra and leggings. Make sure you wear comfortable close shoes as well. The path could get muddy but when we came it was dry so better get ready to get your shoe wet if you come on a rainy day. Otherwise, it was awesome!!!!

Cute ziplining place in Illinois (about 1.5 hours SW of Chicago). I was expecting a lot worse since my first ziplining experience was through the jungles of Jamaica but they actually did a great job with the zip lines being under deep tree canopies. They also mixed them up between short, fast and long runs as well as having a double 'race' line through the parking lot. The movable bridges were also fun. I think this is a great way to spend a family afternoon for the kids and the adults can have a little fun also. Tip: wear old, closed toe shoes with some traction since there is some hiking through mud between the lines.

This was a lot of fun, very friendly staff.

We've zip lined in the Smoky Mountains several times and had a great time so my nephew and his buddy had to go again. These guys are professional yet made it such a fun experience! So happy to have it nearby...

Just camped here for the first time. This is a great place to camp, especially if you have kids…read more The lake was great. It's separated into 3 sections by buoys...one shallow end for small kids, a deeper end for bigger kids, and a fishing area. Both swimming areas had lake toys for the kids to climb on, including 2 trampolines with slides and bounce pillow, log roll, a giant iceberg, and some other things. There are smaller lake toys in the kiddie area. The lake had no algae or fish smell like other reviews noted, so they must have solved that problem. There is plenty of lounge chairs and picnic tables around the lake area for parents. The pool was nice too, but the kids liked the lake the best. They also had activities during the day: bingo, a glow stick dance party at night, and a scavenger hunt. The scavenger hunt doubled as free campground cleanup for them because they had things like bottle caps, juice box straw wrappers, and cigarette butts on them! Please take the cigarette butts off that list!!! Nobody wants their kids picking those up!!! They had bean bag games, pedal cars, horse shoes, basketball and volleyball courts. The grounds were clean and well maintained. The sites are typical for a place like this...fairly close together but there were huge trees everywhere so we had shade and gave it a little more wooded feel (I hate camping in a big grass field). Cost: We paid $45 a night for water and electric (no sewer) which I think is reasonable because you're paying for all the facilities as well, not just the camping. They do nickle and dime you a bit...you gotta pay to use the pool, carts, and some activities. As long as you're OK just using the lake it's not too bad. Checkout time is non-negotiable. We wanted to stay an extra hour or 2 after checkout time so we had to pay for a whole extra night. Most places don't mind if you stay a little longer if the campground is emptied out. The kids really wanted a little extra time so I ended up paying for the extra night and we stayed until dusk so I could get my money's worth. One last note...the owner has a lot of rules and he enforces them. They are mostly to keep the kids safe and keep the camp family friendly. He was out multiple times during the day making sure the kids in the lake had their life jackets on and had parents watching them. If you're planning on partying loudly until 2 am, don't bother coming. He will kick you out if he has to. This has led to some bad reviews from scorned folks, but it's nice to see a campground enforce their rules for a change. Since I was there to enjoy family time it worked out well for us.

York Woods is a nice little escape from all the busy streets that surround it…read more It's in a little hidden area just west of York Road. In fact, right across the road you'll find an entrance to the I88 toll road. Once you enter the parking lot, there is a large grassy area with several picnic tables. To the right, you'll see the underpass for the bike path. If you're looking for a short walk, you can just walk around the open grassy area. The path circles around it. It's a nice little picnic area if you want to stop for a quick lunch break or just sit and relax. On the left side of the circle path, there is a large covered pavilion with picnic tables. On my recent trip, I saw about a dozen deer! The restrooms are next to the pavilion. They are fancy port-a-potties that do not flush and kept quite clean. Near the entrance to the wooded part of Salt Creek trail, there is a stand that has information about when York Woods was first acquired. Here's a quick blurb from it incase you can't read the sign in my photo. "York Woods, DuPage County's first forest preserve. The 1917 purchase marked the start of efforts to protect land for the "pleasure and recreation" of county residents. And the county bought it to build a road." This is a really nice park. Although, I prefer some of the other parks along the Salt Creek Trail simply because they are actually on the creek.
