So basically: take it or leave, even though we were the ones who followed the rules. And don't even get me started on the restrooms -- they were absolutely disgusting and disturbingly dark. I'm talking pitch black in places where people need visibility. It wasn't just inconvenient; it was actually dangerous. There were elderly guests struggling to navigate inside the bathrooms, and no one from staff seemed to care or respond when we brought it up. As for the staff? Unhelpful and rude. Not a single sincere apology, and when we tried to speak to the owner, they were shockingly disrespectful and dismissive. No customer service, no professionalism, just attitude. Beach Water Park (formerly Schlitterbahn)…read more I'd heard about this place for years under the Schlitterbahn name, so when we had a free Saturday we decided to finally check it out. There's active construction on the west side of the park, a pretty substantial pit dug out, so right away the place feels incomplete. The concept here is genuinely different from any water park I've been to. The whole thing is accessed via lazy river. You float from attraction to attraction, peel off at exit ramps, and wait in floating tube lines for each ride. No hauling a tube up four flights of stairs in flip-flops. That part I actually appreciated. The problem is the wait times are brutal. We sat in one line for 40 minutes before giving up and walking ourselves backward out of it. The line barely moved the entire time. On the way out, one of the employees mentioned capacity on the rides had been reduced from previous years. That explains it, and also doesn't make me feel better about it. The lazy river access system only works if the rides are actually moving people through. When they're not, you're just floating in a queue wondering why you left the house. Wouldn't prioritize coming back.

Everything from the pull-out bed in the couch, to the the kitchenette, the queen bed, and the very small bathroom area was clean. Our Beachfront Queen Suite room for 1 adult and 2 children came out to $526.52. PROS The views of the Gulf, the friendly staff, the short walks to the beach, a cafe with a full bar downstairs that offers all three meals, and the existence of an outdoor pool were my favorite things. The overall property was clean and trash-free. No rowdy neighbors. It was peaceful both nights even with the restaurant directly below us. I was able to back my Jeep into the same parking spot each time even when the cafe was packed. CONS Our door did not possess the tight-fitting seal I wish it had. Ants on the balcony, crawling up the main entry door. Water bugs in the bathroom on the second night. Pool filters were not working. Worn-out boardwalk and decks. The place could use some maintenance and fixing up and bug control, but overall I was happy and felt safe. My girls were happy.
