Two of our party had bruschetta for starters and absolutely loved it . Main courses of salmon , beef and lamb were consumed with much enthusiasm and were rated very highly indeed. Bread and butter sticky toffee pudding was out of this world. Coffees were accompanied by oohs and arrs so I can only assume that they were superb. Others had fish cakes, pork tenderloin, lamb, and a variety of starters and desserts; but really everyone was complimentary of their food. Service was also above par. Friendly, attentive and smiling, even while putting up with our banter. Highly recommended restaurant.

We almost missed The Barn, hidden up a side street between the Rail station/bus terminus and what appears to be the main shopping street. Hidden behind a rather unattractive 6 foot wooden fence is the outside seating area with a bar/cafe servery. Going through he doors to inside you feel like you're going into a pub only there is no bar. Had we not had a hungry toddler with us we would, at this stage, have turned round - there were around 10 tables inside of which only one was occupied - NONE of the outdoor tables were taken. Not a good sign on a bank-holiday weekend. We were told to take our own menus and pick a table Service was perfunctory but food arrived swiftly and was fresh and, for what it was, tasty. Portion sizes were good. Gamon was moist and well-cooked. Lasagne appeared to live up to the claim that it was home-made and the huge plate of pasta served from the children's menu was enough to tempt our little one from his doldrums. Carbonated drinks were served from cans which was less than attractive but possibly better value than soda machines! The menu was varied and offered many pub style favorites. It certainly wasn't gourmet dining but was certainly acceptable for lunch. Toilet facilites were clean. Inside is not wheelchair accessible as there are a couple of steps but you could dine outside (and there is gazebo cover). Piped music provided the atmosphere although it was a radio station that was being played which was slightly odd. If the atmosphere could be improved then this has potential to be highly recommended as a family dining place. As it is it's just acceptable.

Went in there on Sunday afternoon about 6ish for a carvery dinner, we was a bit unsure as was empty…read moreinside but we was greeted by very friendly hosts, we could choose our own table which i like, and drinks served very quickly, the carvery was ready in 10 mins as they dont leave it out all day when there quiet, this is the 1st carvery ive been too where you can serve up your own meat, there was, roast beef, turkey and pork for the meats, then there was yorkshire puddings, stuffing, roast potatoes, colliflour cheese, leeks, mushy peas, roast parsnips, roast carrots, mashed potato, mashed suede and carrot, cant remember what else but it was all cooked nicely, very tasty, with a good choice, it looked very clean to me, the staff was nice and friendly, we really enjoyed it, just a shame they didnt do cabbage as its me favourite greens, Think they should advertise they do carvery till 8 pm, as not many places serve carvery after 4 in this area, Keep up the good work guys, will be going back soon,

There is a large bar area where you can have a drink before being taking through to the dining room. There are two sittings for lunch and booking is strongly recommended as it's popular and has a lot of regular customers. The dining room itself is bright but full of classic old brown furniture. The meal is buffet style so good value I think and quite relaxed. The desserts especially were brilliant, so much choice! Go through and help yourself to coffee in the comfortable lounge area. They have a high chair so can accommodate small children and also a table tennis table for the older ones:)

Dylan's is in a beautiful location directly on the water, and the atmosphere is elegant but relaxed. There's lots of inexpensive public parking at the nearby beach, so there's no need to worry about finding a place to park. The first night, I ordered the crispy sea bass tacos, and the quality of the sea bass was sensational. The next night, I had the herb and parmesan crusted hake fillet, which if anything was even more delicious. The hake was possibly the best fish I've ever eaten, and the creamy mustard leeks were spectacular. After a lot of heavy pub food while traveling in Wales, the light and refined food at Dylan's was a welcome change. The only thing that I didn't like quite as much was the dessert: I ordered the cinnamon churros, and while they were by no means bad, they just didn't wow me the way the rest of the meal had. Our servers both evening were friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. I also appreciated that Dylan's is open until 11:00 p.m., as many of the restaurants we ate at in Wales closed considerably earlier. If you're in Criccieth, I'd certainly recommend Dylan's!

This village pub does serve as a nice starting point before heading down into town though. Many locals will stay there all night. The food and drink is reasonably priced. I wouldn't say the food is cheap, but it's definitely worth the money. There's also a decent selection of drinks on offer considering this is a small village pub that focuses mainly on the food side of the business. The beer garden is fantastic in summer, four picnic tables on a grassy area, there's also a childrens play area to keep the kids happy too. A very family friendly pub during the day. There's also a generously sized car park. Not really necessary in most pubs, but this is one that you'd gladly drive to just for a meal. The car park is never empty, but you'll usually have no trouble finding a space. Highly recommended for food, not ideal for a large group of lads/girls on a night out though.

Bwyty Mawddach is (I think) a beautifully converted barn, full of oak and slate and that breathtaking vista. It's run by Ifan and Amelie, with much of the lamb served in the restaurant farmed on the surrounding land by Ifan's brother. Downstairs is a lounge area, with the main seating area upstairs. I've always been in a big group every time I've been here and can attest that it's a great venue for friends and families. The food is largely local and seasonal. It's reasonably priced and there's a good selection. I've never had any complaints about the service.

We only booked a few hours in advance of our reservation but as the owner is Vegan herself they were not fazed in the slightest by our dietary requirements and we were given a number of options for each course when we arrived. Starters: We had the tomato tart and soup. Both were lovely and there was a choice of two Vegan soups which came with bread and dairy free spread. Main Course: We had the Thai vegetable green curry with a dhaal side and the pancake. The curry itself and the side of dhaal were great. Both really flavoursome and tasty. The pancake was fantastic and was served as a burrito with mushrooms, spinach, couscous and other delights inside. I had it with rice but you can have chips or rosemary & lemon potatoes instead. Dessert: Not that we had much room for dessert after the excellent starter and main course! We all had the chocolate cake was absolutely wonderful! Moist with lots of tasty chocolate icing on top. Apparently it's always Vegan too. They gave us the option of either whipped soya cream (which we chose) or sorbet to accompany it. There were also lots of Vegan wines marked clearly on the menu.
