I went to The Black Keys concert at Ziggo Dome on May 5, 2024. I had so much fun and I'm glad I had the opportunity to see them since they canceled their U.S. tour. Attending a concert in another country is definitely an interesting experience. Tickets: Tickets are sold through Ticketmaster Netherlands. I waited until the day before to purchase tickets since the show was not sold out. My one regret with waiting was discovering that I couldn't use my Visa card! For this concert, they only accepted American Express and Maestro. My mom came through in the clutch and let me use her AmEx card to buy the ticket. Once I purchased my ticket, I was able to download a PDF file. If you have the app, you can download a QR code for your tickets as well. One of the ticket add-ons was for Alpine PartyPlug ear plugs. You can also buy them at the venue. That is such a great idea and American venues should consider doing this. Transportation: I took the Metro to Station Bijlmer ArenA. From there it was about a 10 minute walk. The venue is right next door to the soccer stadium so it wasn't difficult to figure out which way to walk. Security: When you go through security, they pat you down and look inside your bag. There is a bag size restriction; if your bag is too large you can rent a locker. There's also a free cloakroom. Once you're cleared to walk through, you will receive a loud "Ja" ("yes") from the security guard lol. The guy in front of me had a lighter and they let him through lol. Needless to say, it's definitely different from the U.S. Concessions: They recently implemented a drink token system (and If I'm not mistaken, The Black Keys concert was the first time they did this). You are given a token at the entrance which is used for a plastic cup. When you purchase your drink, you give the bartender the token and pay for the drink (they do take Visa cards!). Here's where it gets interesting: if you want a refill, you must bring your cup back. If you do not, you will have to pay €1 for a new cup. This is their way of trying to be green. After the show, you can recycle your cup in the proper bin. They have specialty bars throughout the venue. I purchased a beer from a regular bar on the concourse. I believe the only beer option at that particular bar was Heineken. Seating and Layout: Ziggo reminds me of a larger version of 713 Music Hall in Houston. It has a large floor and two balconies. The floor was GA for this show. The venue itself was very nice and clean! The signage was prominent and the majority of signs are written in both Dutch and English. The seating in my particular section had a divider blocking what would have been an aisle. It was nice to have extra space, but if I needed to get up, I would have had to cross through the entire row to get out. It looked like the divider may have been removeable. Show: The sound quality was great! The Dutch audience was a bit more subdued (at least in my section) compared to American audiences. Despite that, I had a really great time and I would definitely see another show at Ziggo Dome. read more

Thankfully most of Reznor's fans have grown past their teenage angst and ridiculous costumes to truly appreciate what can truly now be considered one of the best live performers in Rock history. At 60 years old, with Oscars on his mantel, the visuals have never been better and the vocals never clearer. A stage, B stage, deep cuts and favorites reimagined. The Peel it Back tour is a triumph and Ziggo Dome saw it executed beautifully, with easy in-and-out, safety protocols and excellent crowd management. read more

A very clean venue. Came here to watch an Oscar and the Wolf concert. Appreciated how they turned a few of the men's restrooms into a women's restroom preventing unnecessary long lines for us ladies. Restrooms were clean and well stocked with toiletries. Service at the concession stands was quick, friendly and VERY affordable. What would easily be a $20-$25 per cocktail in the US at such a venue was $8-10 here. I love the Ziggo down. From a working stand point the push from the trucks to stage is short. There is ample storage room. The floor is wide so there is plenty of room for paths to get gear moved around From a crowd standpoint it's gotta be a great place to see a show. Sounds good in the arena and pretty much all the seats have a good view. Dressing rooms have plenty of showers and they are nice and have great water pressure. The catering room is also nice with lots of space. Love this venue read more

Excellent venue. Modern with all the comforts you expect from a first class concert theatre. The main feature, sound quality, is excellent. I was on a pretty high stand and I could hear loud and clear with no echoes ... just perfect. Plenty of bars all over floors. They use the buy coins system which I do not like much but is nevertheless simple and you can return for cash what you did not use. The stage is quite high so even the short ones (like me) can enjoy a full view. Tickets at this venue are a bit more expensive than others but service is 5 stars. Easy accessible from the city by any means of public or private transport even late at nite. From outside a great lighting system make this music box shine with great advertising and info. One of the biggest concert venues in the Netherlands, this is where most big stars play, I personally saw The Killers in 2018, it's a really a fantastic venue. Sound is great, security is helpful, seats are ok sized, they have lockers and a coat check if needed. read more

It was such a pleasant experience to attend a concert at the Ziggo Dome. Entry and crowd management was super efficient. The sound system was fantastic and the big screens made it so much easier for me to enjoy the concert. It was clean and the temperature was just right. I have to admit that rock concert crowds in Amsterdam know how to have fun without being obnoxious. Getting there and back to the house we were staying at using public transportation was very easy. Seeing Pearl Jam live was a dream come true and this venue made it absolutely fantastic. read more

Armin Van Buuren was Excellent here his Armin Only Intense tour was the best ever. This venue was the best and nicest venue that we have ever been to. Plus they had free wifi and good free wifi with good speeds even with everyone on it during the show it was really nice to be able to upload and pictures. Overall the sound the stage and the lighting was perfect. Its a small place but extremely nice. The security was very nice and friendly. I wish venues back in the US was this professional and nice and clean. read more

Ziggodome is cool. It has plenty of options and space for a multitude of different set ups. I'm surprised to see a building in the Netherlands that actually seems to be well thought out and designed appropriately to it's purpose. Believe me, that's a rarity in this country. Only the floor in the hallway is maybe a bit too slippery considering the high heeled shoes women wear and the amount of alcohol some people use here. Love that there's a la Place in here that stays open during the entire time of the concert you're at. I wish I would have known this beforehand though, because then I wouldn't have hurriedly stuffed chips and other junk down my face between work and the Mars concert... Also, the Thirty seconds to Mars concert was great! Loved the acrobats and obviously the music. ;) Too bad the signing session was so horribly unorganized! read more

Possibly the best venue I've ever been to. The perfect size. 17,000 capacity I believe, with two tiers of seating and a large standing section. Unbelievably good air conditioning throughout. I didn't even break sweat in a sold out dancey gig, it was crazy. Also, no security staff or anything anywhere. Yet, super clean and tidy. Madness. Great acoustics as well. One star knocked off for their 'munten' system where you need to buy tokens to use at the bar which is a far greater inconvenience than it sounds. Especially when you need to buy a minimum of 4 (10 euros). Only wanted water, which I had to buy. Was having none of it. Some good eating spots nearby and excellent transport links from here, as per the rest of Amsterdam. read more

I have been to the Ziggodome for all three of the Blue Planet concerts and the Fantasia concert. All big video screens with an orchestra playing along to the action on the screen. I really do like the venue! It is easy to get to, plenty big, but for these concerts, it was not so huge you missed out on anything. There are plenty of options to get to the Ziggodome, even though it is outside of Amsterdam. I have ridden my bicycle and used public transportation. Easy either way to get there for your event. Coat check and lockers are available as well, although I have not used either for the events I attended. There are several options for dining around the area and options inside. As others mentioned, they use the munten (token) system for food and beverages. The Ziggodome is not the only venue I have been to that uses the munten system, no matter where you are this system is annoying. So be prepared to figure out what you want and then buy the correct amount of munten before jumping in line. Unless you are a regular, the munten will expire about every six months. All-in-all, I like the Ziggodome for its size, acoustics, cleanliness and access. read more

Loved the venue . The staff not so much . Was here for Above & Beyond . The side bar was extremely wet . As I walked away I fell and slipped and dropped both of my drinks . The manager and bartender didn't even want to give me my drinks that had fallen due to their slippery floor . They were very rude . Thank God , I didn't let this incident ruin my night . read more
