I had my hair cut in there for the first time today and found the experience rather salesy.
When I booked the appointment I got a 'new clients voucher' worth £10 when you spend over £31.50 for a cut and blow dry. So, using the website I booked in for a cut that cost more than that but it was the cheapest option available. I used the website because to call up is an 0844 number.
When I got there, I couldn't find the studio so I had to call the number which cost me money to find out where it was. I arrived 2 minutes before my appointment (late for me) only to see that the salon was closed. I waited 5 minutes, then I had to call the costly number again to find out if I had the wrong time.
The salon was then opened and not one person smiled at me or invited me in - it was awkward! No one apologised for being late opening while I was getting cold outside.
I told them I had a voucher and they said just show your stylist at the end of the cut.
I sat down and firstly my stylist told me I should pay an extra £10 for a blow dry because of my hair cut, which I did not want. I told her I didn't want much off because I liked the shape but she kept saying I should take more off the front, I eventually gave in as I didn't want to keep saying no! But now my hair isn't the same nice shape it was before. Then when I was having it washed she was trying to sell me different conditioning treatments. By this point, I felt as though I had been saying no so much that I should say yes to something so she didn't think I was a terrible customer so I bought the cheapest treatment.
During my haircut, my stylist was reasonably quiet. When she did ask questions, she didn't appear to listen to my answers, she just said 'oh' then it was silent again.
When I went to pay, they told me I couldn't use the voucher because I hadn't had the right appointment for it. I argued at this point and they let me have the money off anyway. Even when handing my money over to them, not one of the three women at the desk smiled at me.
I left feeling annoyed that I had spent my money on such poor customer service and when I got home realised I didn't even like the haircut because she had taken more off than I wanted. I will not be going back to ZigZag Hair Studios. read more
