We've been searching…read morefor an Italian restaurant that really reminded us of the quality and flavor we were used to back home, and that we too cook at home. We finally found it at Ristorante DellaSantina and I can't believe we hadn't heard of this place before! My husband ordered the Filet Special, which came with two 4 oz. filets, shrimp, and a choice of pasta. He chose the capellini with their Valentino sauce, and everything was fantastic. The filets were perfectly tender and seasoned beautifully (enough seasoning to enhance the flavor of the meat without overpowering it). The shrimp and pasta were excellent as well. He also tried the Pecan Old Fashioned, which was definitely on the sweeter side but still very good. It was gentle enough for me to enjoy, although probably a little too bite-free for my husband, who prefers his drinks with a little more punch. He also ordered a blue cheese dirty martini and was thrilled that it was made with real blue cheese. He absolutely loved it. He finished with the salted caramel cappuccino, which was fantastic. I had the lasagna, and it was delicious. The sauce very clearly tasted homemade, and that made all the difference. We each chose the Caesar salad that came with our meals, and it was actually a really pleasant surprise as it was incredibly flavorful and much better than the typical obligatory side salad you get at a restaurant. I also had an espresso martini, and it was perfect. We started with the bruschetta, which was good, but then came a really nice surprise: warm focaccia bread provided complimentary. That focaccia was wonderful and such a thoughtful touch. For dessert, we shared the tiramisu. It was very good, although I personally would have liked a stronger espresso flavor. We also ordered cannolis to take home, so we'll get to enjoy those later! Honestly, I don't have anything bad to say about this restaurant. From the food to the drinks to the little touches, everything felt thoughtful and genuinely well done. Our server Lexus was wonderful. We will absolutely be back. I'm just kicking myself that it took us this long to discover Ristorante DellaSantina. If you're looking for truly good Italian food in East Tennessee, this place deserves your attention!

The woman driving the car proceeded to attempt to drive the car between my car and another. She scraped my car in the process then proceeded to pull into a bank parking lot. She further damaged the Honey Baked car by trying to drive over a high curb. My sister and I had pulled into the bank parking lot and attempted to speak to the woman. She was clearly having a medical episode so we called the sheriff and ambulance. We also called the Honey Baked Ham store and when the owner called us back, her main concern was not for her employee but to let us know she was not liable for the damage to my car. Turns out the driver ended up in the hospital because she had a stroke. The driver was 78 years old in a Honey Baked Ham car with no air conditioning. The heat index that day was close to 100 degrees. I still cannot get Honey Baked Ham to repair the damage to my car even after calling corporate.

Let me go ahead and state that this review may be tainted slightly by nostalgia and fond memories…read more A long time ago when my wife and I were newly married the Johnny Carinos in our town was our go to date night. They closed decades ago and despite my being an excellent cook and learning to make several of our favorite recipes, it was never the same. Last night while on vacation, we realized that there was a Johnny Carinos near where we were staying. There was no question what was for dinner. We showed up after a long day of being tourists together. Neither one of us was terribly hungry, but we were not going to let that stop us. She started with a sangria and I ordered a raspberry Italian soda ( I've never seen my drink anywhere except Johnny Carinos and forgot how good they were). We shared a small plate of Italian nachos. They were a little lighter on the Alfredo sauce than we remember but were still fantastic. The fact that they had a small plate now suited us since we were both getting entrees too. She ordered the Chicken Scalopini and I ordered the Chicken Milano (without mushrooms). Both dishes were larger than we remember and we barely dented them before getting full. Both were exactly what we had wanted and cooked flawlessly. I can happily say that Johnny Carinos lived up to my memories .

Just never knew when Taste of Italy was opened or closed. I often wonder how local businesses survive inflation and the unskilled job market. Solorzano's - I did Not make up this name -- Claims to be real Italians from near Naples, Italy. Not fans of Naples Pizza.... Yes, a slight remodel and open from 10:30 am - midnight. We have excellent Pizza in Dayton, OH, and we tend to prefer Mountain and Tennessee cuisine during our Smoky Mountain week. My wife spies Zuppa Di Pesce, and I order Shrimp and Scallops Fra Diavio. Both are excellent, and we recommend a pasta entrée. Solorzano's Gatlinburg offers their design of Gourmet Pizza, and offers this pizza by the slice. It's ok, but a Chicago pizza is our style; and we'll stick with our pasta orders. Solorzano's has been open for several months, but has not learned Marketing - have not seen advance knowledge of this company. Also Biden did not cause Inflation - Lots of Corporate Greed did and Solorzano's shares in this greed. Solorzano's prices are way too high. DO NOT display your political Bias on the Menu! We recommend Solorzano's and hope for the best.
