It got v busy around lunch time and we had to wait a while for our food (although they were v nice about it and we were offered compliementary drinks). I just wish it was worth the wait, the salad was fresh and ok, just boring....green iceberg lettuce a couple of red pepper slices with a few more ingredients which all would have been great if only it came with dressing, or even some condiments that you could choose yourself - ketchup or mustard didn't really go Only had a couple of drinks here, g&t was good (well known brands as standard and not the cheap stuff), but don't go for the house wine (I actually left mine - which is rare) but they do have other wines by the glass that are deffo worth drinking Even though food wasn't the best and I will have to pay a bit more for the wine (nothing new for me :) )....I will definitely come back, it's just such a great feeling pub...it just makes you want to stay for the whole Sunday

The interior's decor is that of a traditional English pub with old history attached to it. This place goes back to the 16th century when it was a former coaching inn. Love these kinds of places. We took a table inside and ordered the beer battered pickled gherkins to start and a few Spitfire ales. For main entrees we both had meat pies which came with mashed potatoes, red cabbage, and a small pitcher of gravy to pour on it. Yum! All were delicious and just what we wanted while in an old British pub such as this. Plenty of seating inside with a large outside seating area in front. We also found the service to be efficient so no complaints there. An enjoyable lunch experience while celebrating my London Marathon finish a few days earlier where the start area was not too far from this pub.

We did get 3 free cokes, a wine and an apple juice free for the wait being so long and also to be fair it was really busy due to race for life and beautiful weather. The food though was not food. We ordered two kids cheeseburger meals, each only with half a hamburger and a sprinkle of cheese. How can you only put in half a hamburger? The fishfinger sandwich contained two fishfingers and at £10, this is a bit of a joke. The kid's macaroni cheese was dry and bland. Im not sure if we were served these dishes on purpose because we complained about the length of time but thats a shame becausethe actual pub is nice and cool with lots of space. Given the quality and portion size of the food though we will never return.

On the night we visited, the door staff were working hard to politely keep out people wearing trainers or dressed too informally, but anyone in smart casual wear was welcome. The clientelle was a mix of ages, but mainly groups of women and couples. They have a garden area at the back, which should be nice in the summer, and a cocktail bar upstairs, which was very quiet when we had a look. Definately worth a try if you fancy a few glasses of wine or a cocktail in South London.

After hours, they open up the downstairs, bring in a dj, and let the dancing go in full swing. Prior to that, you'll probably be upstairs with a nice crowd of people having wine or cocktails. Beer in bottles if you must, but beware the choices are a bit limited - it is a wine bar after all! And compared to central London, wow it's cheap. It's a fun place, and probably a bit of debauchery might ensue, but you'll have fun at Mordens. While still pretty close to central London, it's certainly a different feel - and you'll probably be surrounded by English people!

The establishment has a nice mixture of cozy and airy, which was perfect for a lazy(ish) Sunday. I hate to use this word, but I'll use it anyway (because I can't think of a better descriptor): the service here is "super" friendly, and very knowledgeable, particularly regarding the ales on tap. The barkeep gave us a few sample pours without waiting for us to ask, which we greatly appreciated. Because of that, we were more than happy with the pints we ordered. Moving on to the food: the roasts were delicious, in particular the pork loin, which was moist and flavorful. I enjoyed my roast beef as well. The Yorkshire pudding was wonderful and I might have been just as happy eating that alone for my meal, to be honest. The pub is in walking distance of the touristy areas of Greenwich, so it's easy enough to put some good food in your belly and continue on to your sightseeing, afterward.

A Welcome, Delicious Surprise…read more After a long and arduous journey by train from Brussels to Central London and from there to Greenwich, my wife and I were irritated, exhausted, and starved. We quickly browsed the area's listing for local places to eat and stumbled upon The Prince of Greenwich. At first glance, Prince is an unsuspecting bar with loads of antiques. It appears to be the sort of place you could get a drink and some chips. Surprisingly, Prince is actually an English pub that specializes in Italian food of all things. This concept intrigued us, so we knew we had to check it out. The charming climate of the restaurant is relaxed and homey. It's not just the antiques that make you feel at home. The waitress was helpful and gave stellar reviews of the food. After placing our orders, we enjoyed gossiping about the plethora of antiques littered around us. We ended up really enjoying the food. The cheesy bread with mayo was so strange, but in the best way possible! A simple dish, we were surprised with just how well the mayo fit with the cheesy bread. This was not your typical mayonnaise. Both pasta dishes were delicious. We had just been to Italy 2 weeks before, and this took us right back to the start of our honeymoon. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant to anyone out in Greenwich looking to cool down, relax, and unwind. You'll enjoy delicious food and odd trinkets decorating the walls. Just don't skimp on the mayo cheesy bread!
