Not a strong "rubbing alcohol" flavor, really nice ^_^ Was nice going without lil bro, we weren't pressured to overeat and actually left after about an hour, when usually we're 4 hours lol My mom really liked the teriyaki chicken rice bowl, but I think she was avoiding the rice part of it because she wanted to fill up on more of the good stuff. I really liked the oil fish and the spicy salmon chunky nigiri because the seaweed wrapped around it have it a nice contrasting texture due to it's crispness, which was different for me ^_^ They really enjoyed their mango icecream and said it was very flavorful, I enjoyed my green tea icecream, as that was not bland also. Their sesame bean buns were really yummy too. All their sushi was great ^_^ although I think they were running out of wasabi paste and ginger because they forgot it twice and we gave up, was still a pleasant meal without it, I'd like to come back. We had a good laugh at the end when I brought over the tip secretly, after my mom covered the bill. I knew she wouldn't tip and I just didn't feel like arguing with her. The waitress was confused when I came, and she looked at the bill in shock and we had a good laugh ^_^ I was still pretty embarrassed and tried not to stay too long as to raise suspicion lol Was funny Xd

We put down our glass of water and someone is already there pouring in some more water!! I went here with a group of 18 people on September 24th 2016, and we all got served and left within 3 hours to go on our karaoke night. I highly recommend the lobster roll again, it's really my favourite. Since it was birthday, I took the liberty to choose the chef suggestions (I can't tell you which rolls I had, but I have pictures of a few). Again, the BYOW with the SAQ that is 30 seconds walking distance is really a + !! And I love their chocolate/Nutella fried bites with the ice cream, it's really amazing. They mad me a Bday greeting on my desert (offered by the restaurant). I recommend to reserve for Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays !! It gets busy really quickly. *** I forgot to mention!! Everything we tried on the menu was just perfect, tasted amazing and there is a lot of choices. Drinks aren't included, you pay for those extra. The other on the same floor as the bbq and is all you can eat sushi. We didn't try this one but while at the bbq, my girlfriend did order sushi (included in the bbq) and she really liked them. The difference is in the all you can eat sushi, there is more option then in the bbq. Food is serve on a convoyer belt delivered directly to you. Sometime, it come off a train on top of the conveyer belt, other stuff come from a big cat robot and some are waiter delivered. On the third floor is the newly opened Izakaya. I didn't see the menu but from what I understood, you can also get the same sushi plus many more offering. This floor is like a bar so 18+ only. The second floor is busy specially on week-end. You might be lucky to snatch a place without reservation but it took me all summer to get one without reservation. Reservation are available on the website and very easy to do and highly recommended. The izakaya is first come first serve. The price is normal for a bbq place. The ambiance is a mix of anime,. 3d CGI and such projected to walls. It's very nice. I'll come back for sure.

First of all, the atmosphere is super unique. All your senses (especially your visual sense) are stimulated by the decor, the action and the sushi preparation right before your eyes. We each ordered the Omakase 1 platter (sashimi (4), sushi (4), maki (10). There was a miscommunication with our waiter and he only gave us one of the platters. There was some confusion at first but eventually, the sushi chef behind the counter (owner or manager?) brought us another platter and threw in some extra dishes. Everything was delicious and fresh. Unique flavours and textures. Reasonable price for the quality

Everything is expertly prepared and packaged, ready to handle the trek to your flat. The sushi is marvelously fresh, the sashimi heavenly, and the flavors creative (try the rice crackers topped with seafood). Plus, there's plenty of wasabi and ginger if needed. Bring cash.

And, you won't break the bank either. Our Chirashi Don consisted of some pretty exotic fish including King Salmon, Blue Fin Tuna and Hamachi (Yellow Tail). Nice presentation, with the slices of fish enveloping a bed of minced salmon and rice. It was a lot more filling then it appeared. The Salmon Yaki included a large serving of fresh salmon and a bowl of rice. This isn't the dry, overcooked salmon you'd get at the food court. The dish also included sauteed mushrooms and zucchini wedges. Salmon was so soft and moist. Wonderful choice if you are hungry. If after your meal, of you are still hungry but running low on cash, you will be pleased to know that there is a Poke Bowl place next door.

Nestled in the heart of downtown Montréal among corporate and commercial buildings, Saiko Bistro…read moreIsakaya may have an unassuming appearance. We had reserved a table. When seated we were changed to the counter seating, because we picked Omakase option. Our evening centered around the Omakase 5 option, which not only allowed us to sample some of the chef's creations but also provided a front-row view at the counter to witness the preparation of each course. The Omakase 5 included two appetizers, a main course, 10 pieces of sushi, and a dessert--a generous and fulfilling selection that left us full and content. A standout dish was the fish consommé, a clear, delicate broth cooked over six hours and served piping hot. The chef guided us to dip each sushi piece halfway into the broth, balancing between warmth and the sushi's coolness. The heavily vinegared rice, when paired with the rich consommé, created a beautiful contrast of flavors, temperature and textures. The sushi course was equally remarkable, presenting ten pieces, each with a small mound of rice topped by a thick, fresh slice of fish. Two King salmon pieces--one marinated for eight hours and the other served raw--showcased the nuanced ways salmon can be enjoyed. The selection of tuna varieties (big-eyed, yellowfin, bluefin, and fatty tuna) provided a spectrum of flavors, each distinct and satisfying. Scallops, shrimp, sea urchin, and eel followed, rounding out a "parade of fish" that captured the freshness and diversity of the ocean. Our meal concluded with a cheesecake dessert, a sweet and light finish that topped off an excellent evening.

I'm so sorry Sushi Crescent. forgive me for my past review :(…read more I've gone back 5-6 times since and the service has gotten so much better. The manager is also supeeer friendly The food comes super fast and is always amazing. Torched sushi rolls are always warm with the slightly torched rice taste.. melts in your mouth. Their rolls aren't as jacked up with rice as it used to be which is a plus considering all AYCE sushi restaurants overload their rolls with carbs to get you full They have the BEST BAKED MUSCLES, I can have 20 of them in one sitting. The salmon belly has gotten better than I remember, comes with this tangy soy sauce and lime. A lot of their kitchen dishes taste better and of higher quality, their sashimi tastes fresher as well All in all, ive gotten very fond of them. they're now my favourite ayce sushi in downtown MTL. Very much enjoyed my meal here on a weekday last week…read more First of all, the atmosphere is great, very unique decor and the staff were extremely friendly. The portions are small so don't expect to order 1-2 and be full. Between two people, we shared 5 dishes and we probably could have ordered 2 more. We tried a variety of items off their menu including one sashimi and one fried dish. Everything tasted good, was fresh and had different flavour profiles. I wasn't a huge fan of the matcha cheesecake because I found that there wasn't enough of a cheesecake taste. It cost us each 25$ before tip which I find pretty reasonable. Overall, I would return and I look forward to trying more dishes.

The walls appear as if they are sunken in, but the wood panels are just positioned in very interesting angles that make them look like a literal hole in the wall. We arrived for an early dinner, but luckily, we made it right on time for happy hour. It worked out so well, so we started the evening with drinks - Kyoto Cooler (sake, honey, grapefruit) & Yuzu Sour (shochu, yuzu, soda). Althpugh the drinks were presented nicely, they were not mixed at all! Everything we were interested in on the menu happened to be on the happy hour menu. Well, that worked out so perfectly! This is what we got: Toro Age, Tebasaki, Sake Wasa and Maguro Nudo. For value at happy hour, it was great to share these small plates, but they were not portioned enough to fill an appetite without spending a couple extra bucks. Since we were still hungry, we also ordered an item on the regular menu - Unagi Aburi. Portion was extremely small with thin slivers of torched freshwater eel topped with sliced almonds and tobiko caviar. I wasn't sure if the yuzu honey sauce on the plate made a difference, but there's a lot of sweetness in the dish itself. Our favorite was the tebasaki though. Fried to a golden crisp, the wings were juicy with a light soy glaze. We loved it so much, we ordered another plate and because it was on happy hour, I didn't feel too bad or wasteful ordering up. Overall, Kinoya was a fun place to visit for its novelty, but not a place I would find myself returning to. Actually, maybe for the wings, just the wings! The food didn't deliver as much as I had hoped and the portion to price ratio was a bit pricey for value to satisfaction. However, the happy hour deals are great and worth a visit!
