The overall massage was pretty good. it wasn't very soft like some of the other locations. In terms of parking, there was a lot of parking in the back. Also, he rushed into the clinic 10 minutes late. He gave me my full time, though. No self-care prescribed. A BIG turn off for me was the POS machine prompting for a tip. Really?? This is a multi disciplinary clinic, and you're *requesting* tips? This seems highly unprofessional for regulated health care professionals.

Facialist was also excellent - her name escapes me but she was a European lady - first initial K - lovely. Great facial, my skin still feels so smooth and hydrated not even two days later. I really enjoyed this woman in particular for her 'realistic' approach to beauty, knowing that many of us don't have time to do a full 10 step routine every day, she distilled it down to the "critical" products, ie. cleanse, tone, serum, exfoliate a few times a week, and SPF daily in summer and when we remember in winter. My only complaint is that in the waiting area, there was a pretty rude couple that was sitting far apart in separate muskoka chairs (both staring at their phones and talking to eachother). My hope for more spas in the GTA is have NO phones in the common areas. It is highly distracting, a privacy and security concern (um hello, we're sitting there in robes), and it's intimidating. For example, I wanted to kindly ask this couple to please lower their voices but did not feel comfortable as they could film me should they decide to be confrontational (and let's be realistic - this is only growing more and more common in todays society). I left both my work and personal phone in my locker given that it is a spa and I'm there to get away from technology. I'd like to see a phone policy in place, not just here but at more spas in Toronto. If you can't even wait for a massage without looking at Instagram for 15 minutes, maybe you shouldn't be at the spa. Anyway, I digress. Will return - prices are reasonable - staff is friendly and accommodating.

First impression of front desk was super helpful, the lady was very kind. The facility is lovely and well-appointed with sauna, steam room, robes, lounge, and other amenities like pads, shavers etc. This is a great bonus that saves a star! Unfortunately, the massage service my partner received (gifted by me) did not meet expectations. We had arrived on time (early), but she was not called to the massage room until her appointment time. Then, she had to fill out her forms, which should have been provided when we arrived early (or perhaps online beforehand is a good idea!). She's also filled out these forms before so health questions should be on file already. This cut into her massage time and she did not receive the full 50 minutes. As well, her verbal instructions were not entirely regarded by the masseur (when asking for less leg work, the request was ignored).

My last experience with the other massage therapist was horrible, she had no idea about actual massage therapy seems like she was not expert at her field. i specifically told her y i am here what needs to be done but the whole time she was giving me relaxing body massage other then doing the actually thing to ease my pain. unfortunately Anna was not working that day and was stuck with inexperienced therapist and not knowing at all about the real massage therapy, i had to interrupt her couple of time and she kept saying she is coming onto that and wasted my time and money to get the useless thing done. this place is running by lack of knowledge people and the therapists. (which i doubt they are really registered therapist) since Anna is not there anymore i would not put step into this business anymore.

Look no further than Tokyo Shiatsu Clinic aka Suzuki Shiatsu at The Beaches/The Beach. It's a one-room clinic with massage tables. There are no barriers or dividers so when you get a massage it's in full view of everyone else. It's a good thing you keep your clothes on, huh? There are several massage therapists (mostly Japanese) that have differing levels of English fluency but are so OMG-amazing at what they do. The only cons are you'll occasionally hear a fellow massagee snoring (yes they are that good) and the fact that they don't provide insurance receipts. They take reservations and walk-ins and if/when you call and you get voicemail, leave a message and they'll promptly call you back.

Suzuki shiatsu has no bells, no whistles and no kimonos - but the massages and price are amazing. The masseuses are top-notch, though it is worth trying a couple out to find the best match. At $12 for 10 minutes, it's certainly doable. It's actually the best combination of price and service that I've seen for massages. If you are in the area, at the beach, and need a kink worked out, these pleasant, courteous people, who you'd think would have forearms like tree branches, are definitely the people to see.

I always book the couples…read moremassage and the first two times I went it was very relaxing, but this third time was what convinced me to write a review for one particular masseuse in general because I'm not sure what type of witchcraft TCM practice she used on me but I feel my entire back is back in alignment, my blood flow is back, and my (tmi) bowels are back in working order. Bear in mind with Real Chinese massages, there is supposed to be pain. My body during the process was under so. mUCH. PAIN. I was wailing a lot and the secondary masseuse who was working on my partner was concerned but my masseuse responded with "don't worry I know what I'm doing" and continued the excruciating pain. I did not know this kind of massage was what I needed at the time because although I asked for full body, the first two times i had gotten only back and arm massages... but this one? Oh she absolutely knew what she was doing and did not cut corners. I will warn you thát if you do not have high pain tolerance, you aren't ready for this kind of massage. And even though I was in so much pain, she reassured thát the pain will only be for today and tomorrow there will be less pain. I don't know how she knew I was sitting on my ass at my desk a lot or knew that I was lacking sleep, but I really felt taken care of. They say if you have a lot of pain during the massage it means that there's something wrong with your body. I definitely believe it now. I left feeling like a tenderized chicken. If you come here, ask for Anna or Ada.

I loved the foot massage and I was in a quiet private room which was nice. There was a TV, but it wasn't turned on. I'm not sure if you can ask them to put something on, but I prefer to read my book anyways. My massage therapist was great even if we didn't communicate all that much (she spoke Mandarin and I don't!). The body massage is the Tuina style, and it was ok but I prefer Swedish massage with oil, which is just a personal preference. I chose this place because of their sauna, but I was kind of disappointed. It is really small and it is crammed into the unisex locker room which is also the only place there is a customer washroom. So you have to get changed in the washroom (otherwise the door is open and people are passing by, so not exactly private!) and there is no lounge area to sit before/after the sauna (for instance if you want to do a few rounds). The sauna itself is a bit hazardous, a few slats of the wood are collapsing and there are metal nails!! I have been to a ton of saunas but have never encountered this, as it makes no sense because the nails get super HOT!! It's not like there are a ton of them and you can just sit carefully to ensure you don't touch them, but still, this seems like very poor design. The location is convenient, in a plaza near many bubble tea, dessert places and Asian restaurants. I would go back for foot reflexology but I would go elsewhere if I want to use a sauna.
