I came in here when I was 2cm dilated and 39 weeks pregnant. I have been trying for weeks to get an appointment down the hill but they have been booked (Lido) or they kept hanging up on me when I asked for an appointment (Miracle Springs). My doula said a friend liked it so I went in for a half and half: foot massage and body massage combo. First, I was taken into a main room with a few beds parallel to each other. The backs could zoom up like a hospital bed. My clothes were kept on. They put my personal belongings in a basket and placed my bare feet in hot water. Temperature was perfect. A towel was placed over my eyes with a brief scalp massage. The foot massage was more therapeutic than relaxing. They popped all my toes. They massaged between the toes. They used a warming lotion and some kind of heating prop on my calves. I wish there was more of that. They moved me to a room for a body massage. It was amazing. They regularly checked in about pressure. They used a hot cloth on my back, up my spine. It was amazing. I felt like I was floating. It was the perfect thing for feeling uncomfortable and grouchy for so long. And half the price of the above mentioned spas. The staff is sweet as can be. I am glad they are here.

My wife and I both attended a one hour foot massage on August 13, 2017. I waited until August 21, 2017 for my review because my wife did a follow up 90 minute body massage on August 20, 2017; and I wanted to see how her body massage measured up. The short answer is that Zen Spa Massage provides massage services comparable in experience to what I would expect from a high end resort or from a cruise ship spa, but at the rate of a dollar per minute. I am giving them high marks for both providing an exceptional service and great value. Prior to their opening my wife had to travel to the lower desert for a decent massage, but not anymore. The details of the foot massage are as follows. The foot massage in performed in a large room that can service four customers at once. They place your feet in a bath to soak while they work on a scalp and facial massage. After the scalp massage they work on your feet. And after the foot massage they have you turn over and work on your back. It was actually a lot more than I expected for being labeled as a foot massage. My wife described the 90 minute body massage as being similar to a Lomi Lomi massage. She said it was wonderful, and she is already scheduling to go back. She is happy, so I am happy. Oh, the body massages are performed in private rooms. My opinion is that Zen Spa Massage is professional yet affordable. It's like a Massage Envy service, but without the subscription or commitment. Since they are in their grand opening phase one could like just show up for a look around and get a discount offer to sweeten the deal.

Ask the Community - Zen Spa Massage

Do they take walking-ins? How much for a 90min massage?

    Yes

How much would it cost to have a 90 minute massage?

    $80 First visit to$70

What is the correct phone number for this business? I just called through Yelp and was connected to someone's personal line.

When we first went in for our foot massages they gave us a frequent massage card (buy 10 massages and get one free) and a $10 off coupon. The phone number on both reads: (760) 399-2188.

Since nobody had, I was hesitant to go here and pay $28 for the same massage as the foot reflexology place next to Jelly Donut that charges $19.99. Tonight, I just really wanted a massage, I have chronic pain and other health issues and massages tend to help me. I went to the other place and even though they were open until 10:30, they had two appointments coming in and couldn't take me. So, I figured tonight is the night I'll try Dragon, didn't care that it cost more, I just hurt and wanted one. I didn't remember exactly where it was, and went the opposite direction on the highway, back to Joshua Lane. At that point I knew I had passed it and pulled over to pull it up online, saw where it was, and decided to call and make sure they could take me and were open since no hours are listed and I would have to drive back across town to get there. This was at about 8:45 pm. My exact question when calling was, "I wanted to see if you were open and have time for a massage?" The lady on the phone replied that yes, they were open. I said great, I'll be right there. Notice, she did not actually answer the part where I asked if she had time for a massage. I drove back over there, pulled in feeling happy and relieved that I will be getting a massage right now after all. She came out to greet me, smiled and asked if I called. I said yes. She said ok, come back, opens the door to a massage table, and says, "Half hour ok?" I said no, I wanted the one hour foot massage. She kept repeating that half hour was ok and we could do an hour next time. This was because they were closing and she did not, in fact, have time for a massage. She was a bit pushy about me getting a half hour massage. It's not a good deal to do those, as the price is $18 for a half hour or $28 for an hour. I had planned to give her a full $40 for the one hour massage (since these places expect obscene tips.) I can't afford massages all the time, so it's important to get a good value when I do go. I didn't want to take that $40 and spend most of it for only half of what it was supposed to buy, so I said no thank you if that's all you will do. I expressed frustration that I called ahead so that I wouldn't drive there for no reason and still drove there for no reason. I asked why she didn't tell me she didn't have time for a full massage on the phone but she didn't seem to understand me, which most likely was the problem in the first place. I asked if she could tell me their hours since I couldn't find them online. She thought I was asking the price, and kept saying $50 for a body massage with oil. Great, she's trying to upsell me a more expensive massage now, but not for tonight, they're closing. Finally, she understood that I was asking the hours. In case anyone is interested, they are open till 10 pm Monday through Friday and 9 pm on Saturday and Sunday. You're welcome. I just wanted to get out of here now, frustrated and annoyed at having wasted time and gas, and sad because I was sore and these were the only two foot reflexology places in town. So, I don't know how the massages are, I very much wish I could report on that but I can't. But I do know this is no way to treat customers or run a business. Disappointing.

We searched the room thoroughly before leaving and rechecked all luggage again once we got home, with no success. My husband contacted the hotel and was told the morning staff would be asked. Given the value of this item, that response is not sufficient. A property at this level should have a clear, documented lost-and-found process with accountability, rather than relying on informal follow-up. We paid over $600 for a one-night stay. The level of urgency and communication so far does not reflect the seriousness of the situation. I am requesting that management conduct a formal review, including verification with housekeeping, review of lost-and-found records, and any applicable security procedures, and provide a direct, documented follow-up.

We've stayed at other places in Desert Hot Springs and the spas were sometimes a hike from our room, so I definitely appreciated that it was right there. The ginger lemonade that they kept filled throughout the day was very refreshing. Breakfast was ok. We're both vegan, and I'm gluten free as well, so there weren't a lot of options, but we managed. It was also very quiet there. I think most of the other rooms were filled, but since it was a small place, we still could always get a prime lounge chair and the whirlpool spa area was never crowded. As others have mentioned some of the facilities are a little worn and run down. The saunas were old. The game area was also pretty old, but the everything was clean and looked after. If you're looking for a five star experience, this isn't it. But, if you want a place to relax and enjoy a quiet soak, this is it.
