I was referred to Dr. Zegarelli by a friend who is a patient. It was fairly easy to get a new patient appointment without an extended wait. I really like Dr. Z but have had multiple problems with the clinic. At my first visit, he told me he wanted me to have an at home sleep study due to multiple medical conditions and symptoms pointing to sleep apnea. He said the nurse would arrange it and someone would call me to set it up. I had a follow up two months later during which I told him no one had called about the sleep study. He pulled out a big red pen and made the note in huge letters then circled it and used a sharpie to draw an arrow pointing to it. My next follow up was scheduled for 4 months with labs prior to check levels of newly prescribed medicines. I fasted and went in for the labs. There were no orders. I called and had to leave a msg for nurse who never called back. Multiple calls with no call back, talked to front desk who put me on hold while she took care of it. She gave me the name of the doctor referred for sleep study and said nurse was sending lab orders right then and would call me as soon as it went through. I've since fasted two more times only to get there and find no orders. The sleep study doctor turned out to not only be out of my insurance network, but is a pediatrician who would definitely not see a 52 year old patient. I've called for 3 straight hours only to keep getting the voicemail during regular office hours. I feel like the nursing staff is incompetent and that is not acceptable, no matter how good the doctor is. I need those labs NOW as they should have been done two months ago so I will be finding a new doctor with a better staff. read more
