Late last night I popped onto Yelp looking for a lock repair person as my doorknob fell off my door out of nowhere, so I texted a photo of what happened to my door. I messaged a bunch of different places but they were asking me to call them for a price quote and I didn't know their availability, but Zebra Lock quoted me via Yelp in text within 2-3 minutes and offered me a time slot instantly. This morning at 9:20 AM prompt (as promised) Shlomi (forgive me if I spelled this wrong!) arrived and came to fix my lock. I found this company on Thumbtack, and their rate was the best for what I needed, so I decided to give them a try. Shlomi showed up promptly on time, and he was done changing 2 locks within about 15 minutes. Everything was quick and easy. Also, he was extremely nice. He accidentally quoted me $5 less than the actual price of changing the 2 locks. I was 100% fine paying the extra $5, but he was so nice that he actually only charged me what he originally quoted. Zebra locksmith arrived on time and Sammy was extremely professional. He took the time to completely answer all of my questions regarding a special high security door lock - the MT5. Originally, I was 'certain' I wanted a Medeco restricted key lock, however, after I was explained the mechanics of the MT5 lock, I now believe this is the most secure lock available since keys can ONLY be made by me, with identification & special card - an important factor when having tenants. I also needed a 'sturdy' lock for the built-in wall cluster mailbox, and Sammy installed a GOOD, sturdy mailbox lock. He also tweaked the mail box so it would align properly. This new mailbox lock installed is more secure, is all metal (nothing plastic), and has a key which won't bend as soon as it is used a few times. Lastly - I had an issue w/ a door knob as well & Sammy took the time to explain the differences in the spindle, and I had the doorknob changed out as a result. In short - Sammy left no mess, was very attentive to my many questions, and unequivocally, I would highly recommend him if you need an excellent locksmith as he is the consummate professional. The recommendations he made about the products were spot on and left me feeling confident about the security of the fixtures he changed out for me. As a side note, he also is a recommended locksmith on Amazon.com & also has stellar reviews on amazon's web site as well. After today's visit, I can see why he is so highly recommended. Zebra came out and repaired our door a few weeks ago. Earlier this week it wasn't closing properly, so I called them again. They came out first thing the next day and determined we needed a part ordered. They got the part within hours, returned to install it and then didn't charge us for the part or the labor -- even though the malfunction wasn't due to their work the prior month. If the fears that we all have about contractors were compressed into one entity, it would be Zebra Lock and Security. By fears I mean the fear of poor quality of work, excessive untimeliness, and the fear of generally getting ripped off. Zebra is your typical contractor in this sense and you will have to suffer through all of these. I had a new door installed by them. The work is so sloppy, I don't know whether to just drowned in my disappointment or call the Museum of Modern Art to see if they want to feature it in their abstract art section. One time when I was younger I was robbed on the street in Manhattan and that was still a better use of money than giving it to this contractor because at least that was a one time loss. With zebra I'm going to have to pay double now with a real contractor to scrap and redo the entire thing. A lot of people were apparently happy with their work with a 4.5 star Yelp rating. Good for you all. I wish I was one of you guys and could say the same. My recommendation is to stay away. That anxiety you get when you pick up the phone to call a contractor, this is the exact contractor that puts that anxiety there. Think about that. However you can give them a call if you happen to want a door installed that looks like a 2 year old toddler installed it. Also, make sure you have ample vacation days at work because the amount of missed appointments and latenesses you'll experience, all your vacation days from work will be spent at home rescheduling a missed appointment with zebra. This company knows what "customer service" is all about! I am a person that is very thorough and diligent when shopping and researching online. So when I came across Zebra Lock & Security I was hoping for the best. I read their reviews and they provided what I was looking for. I recently moved and I needed to have all the main door locks changed. Mind you it's December, the holiday season. I called and spoke to Sammy. I noticed Sammy's name in most of the reviews, and now I know why. This man was available on Christmas morning! I wasn't expecting that. I mean, like he offered, and I was going to be home anyway. Sammy called me half an hour before the appointment to notify me that he was on his way. He was punctual and kind. He provided me with all the options he had available. I ultimately chose the high end MultiLock because hey... Family is priceless and I wanted to feel safe. As far as price?! Sammy provided me with the Yelp discount deal that is offered here and lowered the price to a reasonable amount. I'm a firm believer in "you get what you pay for". He was informative about the process and cleaned up after himself. Also, I needed an extra set of copies and he shipped them next day at no extra cost. These MultiLock keys aren't cheap either. I also got to speak to Lauren at their office because I needed a spare key for emergencies. I gave her my information and she had Sammy personally deliver it to me, because they made an error in shipping it to me. So, I'm basically getting another free key. Sammy told me if I don't receive the extra key in the mail to let them know and they'll work on something with me. This company is accountable and courteous. I am genuinely satisfied with their service as a whole, and looking forward to working with them in the future... Possibly having them install some other security components. read more

Good company. Very kind and reliable, said they would arrive before 3pm came in at 1pm. our locksmith was named Slomi (forgive my spelling). We had some complication with our door and Due to the fact our door was custom made, Instead of attempting to fixing the door and just get paid and leave. He was very honest and gave us options how to resolve the problem. He had told us it would eventually be broken again within a couple of months or sooner if he were to just put the same lock back on. so he kindly said he was look around for the lock but cannot make any promises if he can find the same one since is a custom made door. We truly appreciated his honesty and kind hearted to go out of his way to look for the lock to fix our door.
