Hector from Z Blinds knows what he is doing! He ran about 15 minutes late, but he had the courtesy to call and let me know. He was polite and put on protective shoe covers before coming in the house (I did not request this). Hector looked at the Hunter Douglas Luminette that was not working. He tinkered with them, determined the issue, took care to protect them when laying them down on a flat surface, cleaned the track, put silicone and re-hung them. Now they work like new and I can open and close them again. He also showed me the correct way to open and close them. read more

I have used Z blinds since I moved in my home. I needed them once again for both bathrooms. My metal blinds were broke, and my bath remodel needed window coverings. I did get a quote from Home Depot and for the same coverings it was more than twice what Z-blinds quoted. I was very happy with the install the guys that installed were professional. I am very happy with my choices. I needed motorized blinds for my bath I was tired of climbing on my tub to open and close the blinds. Had a great experience purchasing with ZBlinds. I contacted a few places awhile back and when I saw one of their vehicles in my neighborhood I decided to give them a call. They tried to push me to go to their showroom but I knew I'd never make it over there, so they scheduled for a salesperson to come out about 10 days later. Michael called to confirm then came out at the promised time. It took about 30 or 40 minutes to talk through some options, make a decision, order, and make the initial payment. We opted for two sliding blinds for our patio doors, one with diffuse light for the living room, and a room darkening one for the bedroom. He showed us some samples and talked us through the options. He vouched for a specific brand and told us about why he liked them. Again he invited us down to the showroom but we decided to take his word for it. They said it'd take 5-7 weeks for delivery. On a Friday about 3 weeks later, I received a call saying our shipment was about to arrive and they set an install appointment for the following Thursday. The installer, Manuel, called on the day to let me know he could arrive early. He and his colleague were really quick and efficient getting the new blinds installed. They also took down the old ones and set them aside - they will take them down but they won't haul the old ones away. Manuel had a great phone manner and they were both very personable. They set everything up and had us come check that everything looked good and operated correctly - which it does. We're really happy with the quality of the blinds and of their work. As a previous client I co tasted them to find out about having existing plantation shutters removed and reinstalled for window replacement. I was told $125 for the initial appointment to see the shutters and then $25-$75 (honestly can't remember exact price) per window for the removal and reinstall. Perfect no problem. Contractor comes out tells me there will probably be drywall damage because the frame was nailed in but it should be minor. No big deal I'm fine with it. My window installation gets pushed back a month and finally it's scheduled so I contact Z Blinds for the removal. Here's the deal, the window install is 5 days from today ( window company didn't provide two week notice they said they would) Z blinds calls to tell me that they've looked over my info and asks if I know there will be damage to the blinds. I said no I was told drywall damage and possibly damage to the frame but the blinds will be removed. Then they ask if I'm ok with that, I said yes. Then I'm asked what was I quoted for the removal and I said $25/window (forgot exact amount but I know it was less than $100 a window) the lady I'm talking to says yeah I just now looked over your paperwork and the guy that helped you was new. It's $200/window because of the labor. He didn't ask for help and he was wrong so it's $200/window. My back is against the wall, I was misquoted but that's somehow my fault, and now I'm supposed to pay $600 instead of $225 (max) because THEY made a mistake. That's just bad business if you ask me. So now I have to delay my window install because no one bothered to look at the paperwork in the last 3 months and call to let me know THEIR mistake. Not interested in a shake down and quite frankly that's not how you run a business. YOU make the mistake, you eat it. You don't tell an existing client too bad pay or delay. read more

When I was told the shutters had a lifetime guarantee I was sold! Had been on the fence about the material of the shutters but knowing they had a lifetime guarantee, I felt at ease and confident in my purchase. Over the years I would take a shutter to Zee Blinds for repairs. They would quickly fix it and I would rehang it. Recently I called Zee Blinds to see about bringing my broken shutters down for repairs. I knew they had a new location and wasn't sure where to go to get repairs. I let them know I had a few shutters that just needed a clip but did have one that was warped. I was told that my shutters are no longer guaranteed. I was shocked. She explained to me that "lifetime guarantee" means "the life of the shutter". What does that even mean? She explained that most shutters last between 10-15 years. Since I've had mine longer than 15 years they would not covered be under the "lifetime guarantee". When a business sells something with a "lifetime guarantee" it is meant to be the lifetime of the person or the house, not the lifespan of the product! With their reasoning, wouldn't everything have a lifetime guarantee? There's zero advantage to buying something with Zee Blinds lifetime guarantee. They will just tell you that the lifespan of whatever you bought has already expired. Very disappointed in Zee Blinds and their shady sales tactics. read more

Zblinds was an overall disappointment as it related to customer service and installation. Trust me when I say I truly wanted to give them a 5 star review. Unfortunately, I am not able to due to their lack of customer service. Let me begin by saying Zblinds came highly recommended. I was willing to pay the markup for custom blinds as opposed to buying from Lowes because my sales representative, Emily, assured me that the quality and service would supersede anything we could have ever received from their competitors. The facts are that was not the case. I was anxiously awaiting for 11 custom fit blinds to arrive. The day the installers arrived they began tearing down our temporary shades (which Zblinds representative Emily had suggested us to purchase while awaiting our custom blinds to come in). Unfortunately the installers failed to ascertain whether the blinds were actually the correct sizes PRIOR to trashing our temporary blinds. Once they discovered that our two largest custom made blinds were not cut correctly. They attempted to remedy the situation by patching together 6 of our old temporary shades that had been destroyed and placing them back into our two largest open area windows. They assured us that their office would "rush" a replacement order that would be ready in a "few" days. This happened on May 28, 2022. I asked the installers if they were sure it would be that quick and after calling their office they said it would be. I told them to ensure that someone called me to discuss the matter. That never happened. Instead a text message was sent out merely indicating that our blinds would be installed on June 7th. At that time my husband reached out to better understand how Zblinds would have handled our inconvenience due to the fact that their installers had not only destroyed our temporary shades but walls surrounding from when they ripped them down. Zblinds ignored us and we never heard from any of their representatives regarding this matter. The blinds were ultimately delivered and installed on June 7th and their installers attempted to paint and fix areas that had been damaged from the previous tear down. However when we reached out again prior to the installation on June 7th neither my husband nor I received responses as to how Zblinds was going to attempt to remedy our embarrassing inconvenience. I had my family coming to see my home for the first time with an original assurance all would have been resolved within a "few" days only to find out that wasn't true and had NO ONE at Zblinds cared to even pick up the phone as a courtesy to apologize for what their company did. Our one and only personal conversation that we had with anyone at Zblinds wherein THEY initiated contact finally came from Emily at Zblinds after installation when we refused to pay the balance until we could actually speak with someone regarding the issue. Unfortunately instead of being apologetic for the situation her company created, she was condescending indicating that she would have to speak to her "board" regarding a discount on 2 temporary shades which would amount to a nominal discount that the "board" would probably deny. She then went on to justify how her company went above and beyond their call of duty to install our blinds. What is very unfortunate for Emily is that when she wanted a sale she went above and beyond to contact, connect and cater to us as customers. Once the sale was complete her customer service in contacting us back to apologize or remedy the situation truly dissipated. She could have cared less and we were no longer worth her time. Her last contact with us was that her "board" denied our request for any type of discount for our inconvenience and that we could contact their accounting department to pay the balance. I believe that the true quality of a business lies with a company's customer service. Zblinds falls short in customer service and this was a true disappointment. With Zblinds you pay the markup for CUSTOM blinds but you get a downgrade in CUSTOMER Service. My conclusion go elsewhere. read more

I have been going the rounds with them for 3 months trying to get the service completed and it's still not done. Thus far, I've experienced: * A missed appointment. * Delays in getting parts. * Wrong parts ordered. * After delays in re-stringing blind, they said it was ready but they hadn't even started on it. * Refusal to expedite after deadlines were passed. *Refusal to involve the owner when I requested a call from the owner. Finally, they came out today to complete the order. Called to say they'd be an hour late. I said fine, I just want this to be done with. Came to the house with the wrong parts. I asked the installer to speak with the rep who called me to say parts were in. I was told she is away from her desk. That was hours ago. I just called Hunter Douglass to try to get the parts on my own. They said they would ship them today free of charge and I'd have them in 1 week. These are the same parts that took ZBlinds 3 months to get from Hunter Douglass and when they did it was not the right parts. In summary, I agree with the 5 star comments of other reviews. Purchased a new home, made an appointment for their showroom April 2022. The guy I was working with would not show me the price listings for the items I was interested in, instead he went in the back and printed an overinflated price of $6500 for a patio door, one window and a patio shade (never did receive the samples). I guess he assumed I was an overly excited buyer of a new home and prices didn't matter, well guess what? This is my fourth NEW home and I've covered windows in all my homes. Your salesperson and pricing was B.S., this was not my first rodeo. Why would anyone order anything when you can't see the prices and compare? Look at the reviews and buy at your own risk. My dealing with this company is one of the worst experiences of my life. These people could teach the slimiest, most dishonest, fork-tongued used car salesman a few things. Zblinds was great. Initially. A very friendly and professional rep came to our house to take measurements and gave us an estimate. A little on the arrogant and fake side, but people are people and certainly not required to tailor who they are to my taste. I can't say I cared for it, but it wasn't any big deal. Then the products were installed. Some windows in my home already had coverings when I bought it. This was the case with one of two windows about six inches apart in the front room. I asked if it could be matched or if we needed to explore other options. I was assured that it could be matched. I wish I could post a picture so you could see how far off it was. It was a joke. Different color, size and style completely. When I called to try to resolve the matter it was like I was talking to an entirely different person. The arrogance fully took over, and friendly and professional immediately turned into rude and condescending like someone had flicked a light switch. I was told it couldn't be matched because the company that made this window covering went out of business so they did the best they could and I would have to live with it. After a lot of back and forth they agreed to a partial refund. I don't know why they only offered a partial refund for a total screw up but sometimes it's worth it to not have to continue dealing with a certain type of person, so I took it. Then I saw an ad for P & J. I was amazed that they had a picture of a window covering that looked EXACTLY like the one I had asked Zblinds to match, which was unbelievable since that company had supposedly gone out of business. I called them up and got the same friendly and professional service I had gotten from Zblinds at first, but without even the slightest hint of arrogance. And they somehow miraculously had the exact same window covering. According to them, however, it was no miracle at all. Apparently the company who manufactures that window covering is still in business and anyone can purchase from them. So Zblinds could have ordered from them, too, but tried instead to stick me with something not even close to what I asked for. The sad thing is that Zblinds could've handled this any other way and the outcome would've been that I was satisfied. They could've been honest (GASP!) and told me they couldn't or wouldn't get one that matched exactly and I still would've had them install the rest and been happy. But a salesman's job is to sell what they have and some of them really take that to heart. I get that. They still could have said we could try something they thought would work and see what I thought and if it didn't work I could get a refund. They could have even chosen the route of shady salesman like they did, trying to sell me crap that looks terrible, but then be decent and offer me a refund. Any of these would've resulted in me being satisfied with them, and this review looking much different than it does. Instead they chose the lowest possible road of selling me something they knew wouldn't look good, something that everyone who came over commented on, and then tell me in as rude a way as possible that I'm stuck with it. I'm well pleased with P & J though. And I will use them for the remaining window coverings in my home. In addition to being great people to deal with, their product looks and feels like a better quality product and their prices are almost exactly the same as Zblinds. I would not recommend taking any repairs to this place of business. It has been more than a month since taking in a blind that required replacement of the continuing cord. Each time I have called to follow up on the status, there is the excuse "our repair person has been out of the office but should be able to assess the shade today." This has gone on for the last 4.5 weeks. Is there really a repair person on the premises? What happened to customer service? I had told them after it took 5 months to complete part of it and then they measured wrong we have had to meet them at our home three times and still not a finished project I went hours on the phone and emails letting them know I will pay half or they can come take their product!
