I've been coming one year now and I don't plan on stopping! You'll learn how to safely strengthen your core muscles as well as your back muscles so that your spine can be held up with greater strength and beauty. XTREME Pilates is now a part of my life. After the results I have seen, I couldn't imagine quitting. I know my body wouldn't like it! I'm gardening, lifting moderately heavy plants, and enjoying the fruits of my training. Thank you, Janine!

As a Chiropractor, I work with a lot of patients who also train at XTP, and the difference in their strength, body awareness, and overall movement quality is undeniable. They come in more connected to their bodies, with better control and stability, which makes a huge difference in both their recovery and performance. Janine is incredibly knowledgeable when it comes to the musculoskeletal system, and that really shows in how she coaches and programs. What I appreciate most is how easy it is to communicate with her. I can confidently talk through cases, movement patterns, or specific concerns, and she just gets it. That level of understanding and collaboration is rare and so valuable for patient outcomes. If you're looking for a place that not only pushes you but also truly understands how the body should move, X-treme Pilates is it. Couldn't recommend it more.

Owned and operated by Rachele…read moreand Ray Rivera, Fitness is Art is definitely the go to place if you want to see optimum results adapted to your current physical fitness needs. It is extremely family friendly with fitness plans to fit any budget. A fabulous perk is that there is no gym membership to pay. You pay for the classes you want on your schedule. Classes range from personal training to boot camp tailored to your needs and several dance classes. Ray Rivera has been my personal trainer for nearly 17 years. I first met him at a franchise gym after being diagnosed with rotator cuff injuries which were severely restricting my range of motion (ROM). The physical therapist and surgeon I consulted at the time recommended surgery. At that point I decided to explore other avenues to supplement my physical therapy. Within a short time of training with Ray not only did I completely recuperate full rotator cuff function, which has to date has maintained but I increased the my overall muscle strength tremendously. He was able to accomplish more through his training methodology than any physical therapist. Since that time I continued training with Ray and was thrilled when he and Rachele opened up this boutique gym. Since our first personal training encounter Ray has trained me and assisted in the healing of two foot surgeries and continuous to improve my overall health. His training methods are literally out of this world; not traditional but always engaging and never repetitive or boring. I have also trained with Rachele on several occasions. She has a different methodology than Ray in approaching training but is effective and engaging as well. Rachele is a "take no prisoners" trainer who is extremely knowledgeable about fitness and nutrition. If you are truly serious about leading a healthier lifestyle, improving your fitness level and obtaining guidance on optimizing your nutrition and reaching your weight goals, Fitness is Art is the "only" go to place. A wonderful addition to the Burbank community and a great contribution to the LA Fitness scene. I highly recommend you give it a try!

Rachele and Ray are the owners and they are some of the nicest people you'll meet even though they're whipping your butt and making you hate life for an hour :) But seriously, I really like it there! I've always hated a gym environment and I know I won't work out at home but this place is pretty perfect for me. I signed up on a whim and have zero regrets. Maybe whoever is reading my review will give it a shot and love it as much as I do.

The instructor Nikki has sincerely changed my life. Don't get me wrong I did the work but if you want to be challenged, motivated and supported as a woman/wife/mom, this is where you come to get it done. I'm not a joiner and I'm DEFINITELY not a group exerciser and this experience was an experiment to get different results from working out/dieting and though I have peeled off 40 pounds (and counting) it wasn't the goal and in the end it wasn't the motivator to keep coming back. It's the community I have here and the feeling of accomplishment I get from being a part of this group. Thank you FIT4MOM and thank you Nikki!

I joined when my son was 4 months and it was wonderful to have a place to come and get out of the house. There are classes to go to every day of the week which is great if your schedule changes. You bring your babies in strollers and exercise around them. If you are wearing your baby, then the teachers will easily guide you in ways to continue feeling like you're getting a great workout. Each class ends at a park and you can choose to stay and chat, breastfeed or have your babies play while you cool off. Such a supportive place to get your body moving and out of the house after baby. Highly recommend.

As a former professional dancer (and now recreational adult dancer and performer), I think Leigh's…read moreclasses are FABULOUS! When I moved to LA, her class was my favorite of all the ones that I tried. Her class offers all of these things that are nearly impossible to find in one teacher/class: 1. Class is technically challenging, but she offers a variety of levels, so there's a class for everyone. 2. Leigh truly cares about each of her students and is kind and patient, but she also knows exactly when to push. 3. Leigh is an experienced and knowledgable teacher who expertly crafts classes that make sense (i.e., the barre builds on itself and connects to the center). And if you take multiple classes from her, you'll see that her classes build on each other as well! This is an INVALUABLE skill and asset that not all teachers can provide. 4. Leigh's combos are the perfect mix of dancey, technically challenging, beautiful, and FUN. 5. Leigh puts a lot of time and effort into finding a variety of awesome music. She even features special music in her Halloween and holiday classes! 6. If you take Leigh's class on Zoom, it's truly one of the best around. She is INCREDIBLY accommodating when it comes to her Zoom students; she's always checking in to see if there are questions in the "home studios," and offers modifications for EVERY combo for those of us with less space. She also offers encouragement and corrections to her Zoom students (a rare find these days)! 7. Her website is also super clear and easy to navigate and class registration is very smooth! In summary, I HIGHLY recommend Leigh's class; she and her community are so welcoming, and I can't say enough good things about her skills as a teacher (and you will likely be distracted by her high developpes when she demonstrates - she is a wonderfully inspiring role model and dancer!). Bonus: if you are seeking performing opportunities, she has a company (Leigh Purtill Ballet Company) that dancers can join either in-person or remotely.

It does affect how you are able to perform some of the exercise exercises. Reason 2: The instructor did not ask if I had any injuries, which most instructors do. I tried several other studios and none of them had the joy and thoughtfulness I've experienced at Personal Pilates. They really mean personal! All of the instructors have done a great job tailoring the moves to fit my injuries and specific body. Kim's basics class has been particularly game changing. She really explains things in depth, and the pace is slow enough that it's easy to ask questions. But that doesn't mean it's not a workout! I always leave sweating. Most importantly, this place feels like a community. The people are kind and welcoming. As a plus size person, I often feel anxious in exercise spaces, worried that people are making judgements about my body, or that the instructors dont know how to adapt moves in a way that actually works, or that they might make offhanded negative or cruel comments about fat people, or even just overemphasize external changes and weight loss over strength, endurance, and enjoyment. I haven't experienced any of that here. In fact, the instructors at personal Pilates have been extremely helpful and accommodating about personalizing the work without making me feel any different than other students. And the students are all ages and sizes, which also helps! Lastly, at other Pilates studios I have sometimes felt sort of... like I'm inside of instagram. Like it's all about aesthetics. That's not the case here. This is really a place to enjoy what your body can do and get stronger. There isn't even a mirror, which I really love. I can't recommend it enough.
