I am a big lover of Zara over in Europe however I can sadly no longer say the same for here in Melbourne. Although the quality and styles are not to the same high level, they are still quite nice and adequate. They range from corporate clothing, to a more formal/ elegant approach to causal clothing. In one store they stock Womens, Mens and Childrens clothing which is great :) However, the Chadstone manager was incredibly nasty in her refusal with a return or exchange of a faulty item. I picked up a pair of shorts I had seen in a magazine, which had a tear in the seam, misplaced the receipt, though brought in a bank statement which she refused... Are we not human? And at times misplace receipts? Hence the Australian Consumer Affairs Policy to have another form/ proof of purchase i.e. Bank Statement. I also worked in retail so I truly understand the laws and regulations. I desired the same shorts however the other two in stock also had the same issue.
I was mainly so upset and offended with my experience and I now no longer wish to shop there..
After having to go home, to email head office (as that is the only form of contact) I did receive a quick response of apology, also admitting the Chadstone Manager should have completed the refund. I inconveniently then happily agreed to ship the item to the head office in Sydney and a week later, after tracking and seeing the item was delivered, I still have not received the refund...
All because the manager (again as I've read below) was not helpful with a faulty return. read more
