Pros: Prompt response & service Knowledgeable & highly professional Technician Reliable/flexible-Rescheduled appointment to an earlier time slot with no issues Cons: May be cost prohibitive for some In my case: 192.43 Diagnosis fee 779.38 for services rendered: Total cost was 971.81 1) Diagnose garage light fixture not working (ballast/lighting was replaced on (2) units) 2) Estimate to replace a fixture on the outside of home (lighting replaced with a flood light fixture) 3) Estimate for an future install of an outlet in the master bath. Estimate was provided and totaled 868.36 for parts/labor/inspection permit admin fee Summary: I've had other companies out and have experienced poor results. In contrast the work that was performed by the Volt Doctors Tech was done pristinely. I don't recall the Tech's name...he was a quality minded individual...& took great care in performing the work yet worked efficiently (job was completed in under a hour or so).

Get quotes from at least three companies before you do the work!…read more Express electrical was VERY FAST at coming out to give me an estimate, they even told me they could do the work the same exact day. I wanted to get two electrical outlets installed outside and switches by the front door. I looked up the parts myself and it came out to around $100 in parts. They wanted to charge me $705.00 to do the work which results in about $605 labor for two hours of work. I asked them if they could simply drop the $65.00 dispatch fee for my home being more than 20 miles away and told the guy giving me the estimate they would still make $540 labor, he told me "no". He also said "You won't find anyone else to do this job any cheaper" which was a little rude. I called and got a few more estimates and got another company to do the job for $500, saving myself $205 dollars. Keep checking Google Maps and look at company reviews, then call a few. Sometimes other companies are willing to work with you a little more and give you a better price. While Express Electrical is fast, they have high prices and don't seem to want to work with you any.

I had originally set up an appointment with RDL to install a new outlet, but the morning they arrived I threw them a curveball and asked them to also wire up for a new stove and microwave we had picked up the night before. Without missing a beat, Robby and his son said they would take care of it for us so we could cook in our new appliances. That mean swapping out a 110 line for a 220 for our new microwave by connecting to the service panel and running a line under the crawl space - all invisible to anyone in the living space. In the end, our new 220V microwave is hard-wired (the old one was 110 plug-in), our new in-the-wall oven is wired up and working with a more secure 20A fuse than the 15 amp one the home builder had used for the stove. Then they also even got to the outlet that I had originally contacted them about before they wrapped up.

This was the only electrician that I called that charged per hour and not just a flat free per service. I like this way better because you pay for how complicated the job actually is, not just a number they pre set. They let me know what the max they thought the job would take, over estimated it so I could know what the worst case scenario would be cost wise. I was able to get an appointment fairly quickly for the next week so I scheduled it. The guys who came on install day were friendly, one was an assistant, they worked together well. They didn't have one of the parts they needed so they stoped the clock while they waited for it to arrive so I wouldn't be charged for the waiting time. All in all it took well under their max time frame and they did a great job. At the end of the day this ended up being the most affordable of all the quotes I had gotten. They even asked for a vacuum to make sure they cleaned up any plaster dust left behind. I appreciate that, I have had other electricians in who leave a mess and don't think twice about it. Not these guys, they want to ensure they leave the place as clean as it was when they walked in. My only suggestion would be to setup an online bill pay system, would make things easier! I will definitely be calling Wright Brothers again!
