Items are beautiful, while grossly overpriced. It's like a small scale version of Bergdorf Goodman's Home section: lined with gilded treasures and like a shrine to the concept of luxury. The atmosphere, however, is spoiled by the proprietor's cold and unwelcoming demeanor. He advised me against taking a picture; reasonable, especially given the increasingly dire status of the retail sector...except his complaint was without pretense. When I explained I had no intention of snapping a photo, I was met with a sarcastic glare. After another uncomfortable exchange, the proprietor explained to me, "I've actually been doing this for seventeen years and I know what I'm doing."
