4 of us stopped in for dinner after spending the day golfing and we were glad we did!…read more As we were placing our order, the owner came out and asked us about what type of Indian food we like, how spicy we like our food, etc. He then made unique recommendations for each of us, encouraging us to try some different items than we have tried in the past. This was hands down the best Indian food any of us have ever eaten! We are enjoyed it so much that we want to arrange future golf outings in this areas, just so we can come back to eat at Sid's!

I have eaten at Sid's Spice three times during the duration of my stay in Scotland. Each visit has…read morebeen better and the last dinner I had there was nothing short of one of the best dishes I have ever eaten. I am new to eating Authentic Indian food, and I am so glad I chose Sid's Spice to try out a new cuisine. The dining experience is excellent. Maybe one of the most pleasant dining experiences I've had. Although the restaurant is not too large, they have arranged it in a way that works for the customer. To say the food is good is an understatement. Honestly. The flavors are robust but also can be subtle and full of spices that are authentically Indian. Not only is the food undeniably good, the portion sizes are really quite large, but not too large where you wouldn't be able to finish the dish. And the staff. Sid (owner of Sid's Spice) is an amazingly friendly guy that actually waited on our table himself, and made sure that we had everything we needed. The rest of the staff is also really friendly and they seem as though they would go out of their way to be sure their customers have an amazing dining experience. Also! They have a new menu out now. The first two dining experiences I had was with the old, the last was with the new. The new menu seems to be really nice and they have a lot of new tasty looking dishes. The food also seemed to be considerably better, although it was already really good. Overall, Sid's Spice is an amazing place to eat authentic Indian food, that is reasonably priced, has unbelievable delicious food, and the staff are really friendly, and the restaurant is what you would expect from an established, authentic restaurant.

The menu is pretty cool, with a few items on it that I hadn't seen before. I was feeling curious and, after we'd ordered some papadums with spicde onions and dips, I opted for a Moghul honey with lamb while my partner went for the lamb Shyheti Balti and we got rice and a Peshwari naan to share. His was the better dish, mine would have been better with chicken and while it was delicious it was sweeter and milder than I'd normally choose. Still, I enjoyed it very much and I'm sure the rest of the menu is great too. We took our time over the meal and the staff didn't rush us. It was a nice, warm place to sit for a couple of hours and I'd definitely come back again in the future. I noticed on our way out that they do also offer take away food and that it's 10% off the main menu, so that's probably worth trying at some point too.

The poppadoms were good to start with and the size and quantity of the different sauces and condiments to sample with the poppadom excellent. The starters came a while later and whilst nice, were on the expensive side. I always like spicy food and especially curries. I asked the waiter to deliver a curry twice as hot as anything on the menu and when it came they had succeeded!
