Garnets and amber!
This jewelry store is a touristy spot with a wide selection of garnets, the national stone of the Czech Republic. They seem to position the jewelry in the boxes behind glass so you can't really see the price tags unless they haul out the box. They were nice enough to help with the prices, but all the prices were high, but they gave a 30% discount on everything, then charged us taxes, promising that we'll get them back from the government. Still waiting on that. So it got a bit confusing to try and figure out what things were really priced at without typing away maniacally on a calculator, especially when the clerk clearly had trouble working it. It felt like she was just throwing out numbers and couldn't keep up with her own numbers on the calculator. She'd try to convert to USD, and the whole process would get thrown off. It's located right in the touristy spot where no locals seem to go, so you know it's touristy prices. However, it's a store that focuses on Czech jewelry instead of just general bling.
They had a wide variety of garnets at different price points. If you're not sure what a garnet is, they're a wine red gemstone. read more
