The perfect dive bar includes a cheeky bartender, and when my husband ordered a Spotted Cow, and was given directions to a farm, I knew we had found the best place for a day drink. We had a great time here and will stop back the next time we are in Milwaukee. Worth noting, a bachelorette party came in, and the fun bartender worked all the drink orders like a pro. Zad's is a type of bar I wouldn't recommend to everyone as it may not be the place for everyone. They offer cheap drinks and kind service but the bar patrons have unfortunately made me uncomfortable more times than none. It's definitely a place I only go to during the day but it's great since it opens so early at 6am!! For you night shifters needing a post-shift drink this is a place available to you! Zads! I apologize for never previously knowing about you. This is a fun little dive bar nestled in Walker's Point. It's certainly not fancy by any means, but the drinks were good and the bartender provided great hospitality. You can also play darts here or catch a sports game. My girlfriends and I came across this spot on a random Monday and popped in for a drink. We all sat around a big table and enjoyed a few drinks, all on the cheap. After a few left, the rest of us moved to the bar and enjoyed the company of the bartender and other patrons. I wouldn't say this would be my go-to spot, but it's certainly a good ol' divey bar worth supporting! read more

I stopped here after having lunch close by for an adult beverage and from my try a new place thing. Parking is all street with no parking signs all around, way to crush small businesses downtown Milwaukee. This is your typical dive bar with regulars. The space is cool in an old way and very old looking. The service was fine with the bartender who prefers to be on the phone when not making drinks so not friendly like some bartenders but not ignoring you, get the job done kind of person. My drink was ok for the first time making one surprisingly and better than average. The one star is for the patron who was way out of line with a first time stranger, I'm just here to have a drink and socialize possibly and not looking for on the corner treatment or offers. read more

A true dive bar. If you're looking for anything else just keep walking. They prefer cash but take card. Bartenders were friendly and there were lots of places to sit at a table or at the bar. They had a pool table and a few gambling games as well. Passing by on a Sunday there was a crowd outside of the bar for the early Packers game so they have plenty of TV's on for games. Come for cheap ass drinks and stay for the people watching. read more

Okay, two reviews in one. My first time here, I was actually denied service because of my dog (medical alert k9.) Not a great experience, but it was a Friday night and the bases for refusal were not malicious. I went back tonight to have a beer while waiting for a table at Caminos (next door), and was ready to be kicked out. TOTALLY different experience. The beer was good, service was great, bartender was kind and respectful. It was clear a lot of people here were regulars which speaks volumes. This is a bar without a marketing coordinator focusing on its brand strategy. And it's kinda nice that way. No fancy martini menu, no small plates to share, no mixologist, no farm-to-table dogma, no clever names for everything on the menu. But they have decent beer on tap, alcohol, a pool table and a dart board. I wouldn't say it's a dive bar since there is no significant skeeve quotient and I wasn't afraid to go to the bathroom, but you certainly can show up in whatever you are wearing right now. I'm a little confused by all the one star reviews. Zads is not fancy, it's a pretty classic divey bar with darts and pool. For what it is I think it delivers, they are not trying to have an extensive menu, just serve beer and standard drinks to folks that want to have a quick beer. Also no issues with bartenders, they got the drinks timely for us. read more

This place was dive to a T. They only had 3 patrons in the place when I went there on a sunny Thursday around 6:30PM. But the music was loud enough that you still couldn't hear what the bartender said. Seeing they had MKE Brewing Co on tap I decided to go with that. They had two choices, but I couldn't hear the bartender so I had him choose for me. The beer was somewhat like a hoppy ale, dark orange in color. It was $4 which wasn't terrible, but it didn't taste good. They have little tables outside the bar with uncomfortable stools next to the open bar windows that you can sit at. You can't order anything from those spots though like "My Office" or other bars. Kind of stumbled here randomly waiting for an event to start later on. There's nothing special about this bar and will most likely never see it again in my life. I spent too little time there to completely dog the place though. To each their own. In a neigborhood filled with popular bars, this one may struggle. read more

Rude bartender- Served me beer in a plastic cup instead of cleaning a pint glass for me. Her attitude was straight ass and it showed in the wrinkled scowl on her face. I was instructed not to tip her but I did anyway with the hopes that she wouldn't kill herself after her shift she obviously hates her job. I used to go there a lot last year but i think I just had my last drink at Zads. Some advice: Find new bartenders at least fire that one. (Im sure you know who your are.) This place is great. walked in with 4 others, after a great tour at MKE brewing. bartender was really enthusiastic. 2 of the guys in my group pretty much immediately put there heads down on the bar. ordered a vodka redbull, tipped $0.50, and was promptly called out. bartender told me to go, after finishing my drink. apparently more than 50 cents are expected on these drinks. havent been back. read more

Sorry, but this bar sucks. It is a total dive, and not in a good way. Everybody in there looks like they have been there all day, and might live upstairs from the place. When we were there the Womens room had no toilet paper and the mens room toilet was plugged up. The bartender, who was above average for service, did not seem to think the bathrooms were her problem. She stated that the owner, who only works mornings(?) would have to deal with it. read more
