Most offer a shop with some sort of take-away food attached, a carwash and a variety of emergency goods. So, even I was surprised to write this review, but I've always had a love hate relationship with this service station. The service is fairly average at best, and at night they switch to prepay, I hate prepay. This might sound like a negative review, and in some ways it probably is, but I'm actually giving them 4 stars, for nothing else than selling fuel at a good price. A price that is up to 10 cents cheaper than some other service stations, and you don't need a stupid voucher. Thanks Mobil.

Maybe they don't class themselves as being in Auckland so don't charge city prices. Or maybe they feel sorry for the people living in East Coast Bays and having to drive so far to the city. Whatever the reason I don't care, I'm just so stoked to have cheap petrol. There are loads of people always there but you'll always find a free pump as there's quite a few of them. They don't have anyone helping you with your petrol which can be somewhat annoying, but I guess you get what you pay for. Also, watch out if you're trying to turn right into it when coming from the sea side. There's a huge island that blocks you from getting in so I always try get my petrol after I've been somewhere rather than when I'm going to the city.

Well, yeah, normally I would agree but the service at this family run station is just consistently that good that I felt obliged to write about it. First off, the family that run this place are fantastic. Always chipper, they never forget to ask how you day is going or if there is else they can help you with. I recently moved back home from overseas and they asked how long how I was back for. I couldn't believe they remembered me, it had been over a year! The icing on the cake though, is that they are just so god damn efficient. This might seem silly but when are running late it is really quite key. Literally, by the time you have pull up and get out of your car they have already unscrewed the petrol lid and are asking what you need. Not to mention, the minutes you save when you are already inside waiting to pay as soon as they put the petrol hose is back on the hook. It's efficiency at it's finest and I love it!

They pump your gas but if it's busy (which is often) you don't always luck out with getting someone. Sometimes the guys behind the counter get a bit salesman-y trying to sell you coffee but you can have a laugh with them about it.

Conveniently located on the main road, on occasion a bit of a mission to turn in when the traffic's busy, and doubly so to turn out again, especially if you're headed north. But the forecourt is very roomy, such that even if it's busy you can negotiate your way to a free pump. Once or twice I've even done a U-turn and reversed back to a free pump if that was the readiest way of doing it. Staff are always very friendly, seem to remember me from previous visits. Depending on how busy it is, they offer to pump your gas for you, which saves a little bit of time and is just a nice touch.

It's not often you come across a gas station that actually does amazing cupcakes too, hence the review! The coffees are also reasonably priced and also a serious departure from regular terrible gas station coffee. The service attendants are always really helpful, and quick to rush to my rescue when I have forgotten what side the gas tank is on (believe it or not this happens a lot) or when I try and use diesel instead of petrol (this also happens a lot) They have all the usual amenities central to petrol stations around New Zealand but it is these little extras that set it apart.

Let me tell you I am not talking about the petrol itself, nor will we speak about the spill - because that was bad, very bad. No BP is the best because of it's pies. Some of you out there may laugh and think that a service station pie has got nothing on those boutiquey ones, but seriously, try them. The situation of this BP has meant it was on my way home from many a house party in Devonport and therefore, the perfect end to a night - it's 24 hours. Whether I was on foot, or in a taxi, I couldn't let myself go past this glowing green goddess without sampling her goodness. I am a massive Steak and Cheese fan, it is by far my favourite. But dammit if I can't go past the Butter Chicken pie here. It is sooooo good. The BPBCP as it is now lovingly referred to is so tasty, so fresh, so jam packed with amazingness that I have found myself going out just so I can end a night with one of these puppies. This is a very busy BP Express located on Onewa road, at the intersection of Lake Road…read more Great if you are heading back home from the city and need to get some petrol on your way to Beach Haven, Birkenhead, Glenfield, or Northcote. In the morning before work, it's high traffic time of day, so you are prohibited from turning in travelling east down Onewa Road, fair enough, I hear the odd beep of a horn from annoyed drivers as cheeky law breakers sneak in for petrol or shopping. For now this express is the busiest in the area, however there is news that a few 100 metres up the road in a few months another petrol service station will be opening, so we shall see how this effects them. Great for coffee and petrol stop, or perhaps to exchange that BBQ gas bottle, with nice helpful staff. I know that they do have competitive petrol rates .
