After vetting several roofing companies I decided on McClung Roofing as they presented as fairly priced, accommodating, happy to answer all of my questions and had superb communication. The point person for the consult, Jesse, was was wonderful to work with and elicited a lot of confidence in the company. Once the job began the crew proceeded efficiently and it was clear that the company was well run. We did experience a snafu mid install, an over site of one of the employees, which was discovered over the weekend..... The owner John McClung, personally cut his trip short to come to my home immediately to address the issue. He was very willing to take responsibility and took measures to rectify the situation both within the company and fixed the problem with no costs to me. John, personally came to my home several times to insure my satisfaction and went above and beyond to support my progress in several ways. The true test of of a company's success is not always having the most employees, lowest price or fastest results, but in having the most integrity, professionalism, and customer's confidence, especially in the face of unexpected difficulties. My initial instincts about the company held true and I'm very happy with the final results, the capabilities of his employees, and the the integrity that John McClung demonstrates as a business owner.

We followed their recommendation, worked with a plumber, and then had DLV make some other small fixes they'd recommended. They didn't charge extra for that, they just took the initiative. Also had a great experience with the scheduling staff. The first crew turns out to be subcontracted (even though DLV's salesman emphatically stated they don't subcontract), it was this crew who refused to install the hip shingles because the color clashed so badly. After waiting six weeks for the correct hip shingles to arrive through the hail and storms of April they then send a second subcontracted crew. Of course the second crew neglects to trim back the material at the ridge vents creating complete blockage, I bring this to DLV's attention and they argue with me, I say I'm bringing in an engineer, and they say let's have a certainteed inspector look at it for my 5-star warranty, of course the inspector sides with me. Stay away, far, far, away. This Asheville, NC DLV organization, sucks, plain and simple. I would have been better off with a storm chaser, stay far, far away. James, are you listening?

We did a lot of research with builders and spent a lot of time going over what we wanted with Home Crafters once we decided to give them a chance to see what they offer. They helped us with decisions concerning interior design and explained the differences in what we were considering As far as the build process goes, John was great. We asked a lot of him and he delivered. He helped guide us with the placement of the house and position. John never made the decisions for us, just gave us his input on the options and advised us on what might work best. Dennis was our grader and he did a great job. He worked hard every day he was out on our land. One piece of advice, plan your build in the spring to summer season. Western North Carolina mountain weather is unpredictable at times.
