I'm 3 months postpartum and received the 60min postpartum massage, and it was magical. It was a deep tissue kind of massage which I really needed as a postpartum mom who carries her baby everywhere. This place is such a gem for mothers. My friend recommended seeing Yuna for prenatal/postpartum and lactation support. I had my first baby during COVID and needed both massages and lactation but had to find different providers for both. I also ended up not being able to nurse my child because I felt like every lactation support person who assessed him said different things. I ended up exclusively pumping instead. For my second baby, I knew I wanted to feel good during and after pregnancy. So, I purchased a massage package for prenatal and postpartum massages. And recently started getting lactation support (insurance covers!). Massages are great - and they give you some tea after. I always felt SO much better after getting a massage during pregnancy. About to try the postpartum massage in a few weeks. In terms of lactation support, I made an appointment with Yuna the first week I had my baby. And she was so helpful. I had some pain due to latch but she figured out the pain was actually due to engorgement. She did a breast massage (a Korean technique) to help with engorgement and afterwards, I had no more pain when my baby fed. I was super impressed. I had a rough go with breastfeeding for my first baby & didn't produce milk. I went to about 5 or 6 different lactation appointments through Kaiser (both at Baldwin Park & Anaheim Kraemer locations). Every session there was about positioning with more pillows and homework to "breastfeed, bottle feed. Power pump. Keep trying no matter what." I had no evaluation for nipple/breast makeup or assessment of oral ties for my little one. I did this 6x with no progress! It was such a dark time, esp bc they push the agenda of "breast is best." Fast forward to today - I have nothing but high praises for Yuna. In just my first session with her, Yuna shared a WEALTH of knowledge and practical solutions for me to increase milk supply + work on latching for my baby. She immediately addressed baby's latch and assessed for oral ties. Some detailed assessment notes from Yuna: -baby has a mild posterior tongue tie - no ENT is likely to recommend revising it / might be to work through it. -upper lip tie (my first kid had this too, but Kaiser wouldn't assess for it so we paid a pediatric dentist out of pocket to get evaluated. By that time, it was too late). -extremely high palate in the back -I have shorter nipples, which makes it exponentially harder for him to latch (nipple should touch roof of palate) -I had clogged ducts (explains my moments of momsal and chills); oketani method (breast massage) to get the clogs out - pain like I've never experienced before. But she EMPTIED my boobs. -my nipples are different sizes which is why I've been having a hard time finding the right flange size -recommend that I rent medela symphony - hospital grade pump from Kaiser (better than spectra) -only way through this is triple feeding: latch and breastfeed, formula, pump for at least 1-2 weeks. -strongly supported our decision to pursue bodywork for our baby to address his tension! It's an uphill battle, but again. She's SO knowledgeable and straightforward and REALISTIC.
