NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM YUMO. Yumo is fake. Atleast their viktor rackets are fake. I brought a Viktor Auraspeed 90S and they said they stringed it at "25lbs" aerosonic string. The first game i played with the racket , 3rd rally while taking the serve i hear a pop sound and I see that the racket head from one side is broken. Everyone at my court is wondering what actually happened and see that the racket actually just broke. Everyone started to ask me how much i paid for the racket , as soon as I said it is a 300$ racket everyone starts to laugh. So I sent the photos of the crack to yumo then and there itself and they forward the email to a so-called viktor rep. The guy was really unprofessional and starts to blame me seeing the photos that there is a chip on the head of the racket. But it was actually the reflection of the spot lights in the court and I sent him more photos, now at the this point they actually do not even want to exchange the racket and starts to say that all the badminton players should have atleast 2 rackets in their bags because I said that i am missing my days at the court for which i paid for. Now i return the racket for inspection which i pretty much knew that they were not going to acknowledge it is either a bad racket or a bad stringing job they did. But they keep saying Yumo does the best stringing. But who knows, the guy who did the stringing might have done it wrong , after all they are humans right ? But would never agree. After they recieve the racket , they claim now that there is 3 parts on the racket broken. Now how did all of a sudden these 3 breakage appear which wasnt in my photos ??? And the guy says he has played badminton for over 40 years and says that I should pay 100$ more to get another racket - which they say is their "sweet deal". Now, I had to pay 300$ for original racket , + return shipping cost 25$ + 100$ for another racket , so 450$ I should pay for this piece of garbage that they sell ??? SO GUYS, NEVER BUY A RACKET OR ANY PRODUCT , THEY WOULD NEVER REFUND OR DO ANYTHING ABOUT YOUR REQUEST. I have complained to the consumer court as well. Because this is pure cheating. Never ever buy from this website. Later now I see in online forms people actually saying that they sell fake Li-Ning rackets as well. DONT WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON THIS WEBSITE. First review on Yelp goes to Yumo. Googled where to buy badminton rackets in Vancouver and Yumo Pro Shop was the first to come up. Good reviews are the first thing we look for, we didn't want to go to SportChek as their options are limited and the staff aren't knowledgeable about products. The shop is in a bit of a remote location but not hard to find with GPS available. They are located on Bridgeport and Shell Road in Richmond, right across from the Bridgeport Trail. I went in with my wife just looking for a racket and came out with a full set of gear instead! I realize badminton can be a pretty expensive sport but Yumo has very fair pricing (I've done some research and they told us that for most, if not all items they sell the prices are set at MAP and not MSRP when there's no sale). They have a HUGE selection, probably one of the biggest available in Canada. The staff was unbelievably helpful and friendly. Definitely not the average Asian stereotyped store where the associates are extremely pushy trying to make a sale without really caring about your needs. They won't try to sell you the most expensive items they have, which was what I came in asking for and having only a general idea of what I wanted. Instead, they ask you more details about your level and style of play etc. to give you a few options of what racket might be best fit for you. I ended up getting the Nanoray 95DX and my wife got the Arcsaber FD. Love them both. Luckily we went at a good time and Tommy was able to string both rackets for us right away in under an hour! Most places will take days until you're able to pick up your racket, but Yumo was able to do it the same day for us. They told us it's best to give them a call ahead of time and check if they have a lot of rackets to string, but they'll let you know when the soonest you can pick up your racket is. If you really need it done ASAP, you can pay for a small rush fee to get in front of the line. They offered to help grip our rackets and you can also ask them to stencil your strings for free. Then we moved on to shoes.... I have a weird fit and can range from size 9-10, but Julia was super patient, she brought out all three sizes for me to try on to figure out what size fit best for me before she went on and grabbed more than 5 different models for me to try on. I ended up being a size 10 and she gave me so many options to choose from, taking into consideration my budget. Of course for shoes, you want to find something that fits the most comfortable for you. They carry a brand called 'Kumpoo' which I've never heard about, it's discontinued now but they still have quite a few left available and VERY cheap. If you're lucky, they'll have your size and you might even end up getting two pairs (basically what I did...). The Yonex and Victor ones I tried on were great as well, but I couldn't say no to getting two pairs of shoes for the price of...LESS than what one pair of Yonex shoes might cost. My wife on the other hand ordered the Aerus 2 (the most expensive pair...), they JUST sold her size in the mint which is what she wanted, but they had it available in the orange for her to try on to make sure it was the right size, they fit really well on her and they looked great. It doesn't take too long for them to get in an order either (less than a week) so it's not too bad. Sum was able to assist us with the pre-order so we'll be back at the shop to pick up the shoes next week! We ended up spending so much more than expected but we felt so well taken care of and even ended up getting to know the entire staff team at Yumo. We'll definitely be recommending their shop to all our friends and family, they have the best selection and incredible service. Will definitely be back again. Thanks again Yumo! read more

They are an ok place for badminton aficionados, but it would not be my top preference. The assortment of goods is quite decent for some items, but lacking for apparel items. Shoes assortment is rarely updated. They do respond to your queries, but the communication is rather backward--it took me a lot of back-and-forth emails to figure out something that would have been solved much more efficiently otherwise. The customer service was wonderful in the past, but during my most recent experience the service was rather lackluster. Yes, your items will be shipped, and yes, they will respond to your queries, but don't expect to get much personal attention or that customer service representative would make it a particularly pleasant experience for you. If you have another option, go with a different company. read more
