I had a really disappointing couple of runs with Yummy Crepes. The first day of the weekend, my SO and I woke craving crepes so beelined for the market where we knew there was a crepe stall. We stood in a haphazard queue in the lane and waited. And waited. And waited. Seriously, we were 20 minutes standing in front of this stall-- but there weren't more than 3 people in front of us. One woman with a buggy blatantly skipped the queue and the boys inside said nothing, but I wouldn't complain about that if they were actually doing any work inside. It seemed like only one of the three boys working was actually doing anything, and he was doing it very, very slowly. The worst thing was that one of the lads was taking a smoking break but was still standing inside the door of the truck as he rolled his smoke and then came back in with it in hand to try and find a lighter. After that, we said f- that, and moved on to another stall for something different. The next day we still wanted a crepe so we decided, to hell-- we'll go and we'll wait. The queue was smaller so the wait was a bit shorter. My SO went for a ham/cheese/onion kind of crepe and I went for one with almonds, cinnamon, pear & apple syrup or something like that. My SO thought his was quite nice but I really couldn't finish mine, it was far too sweet and the bottom was totally soaked in all the wet ingredients, so it just wasn't enjoyable. read more
