I had to buzz in, and I was greeted by an old Greek guy wearing a lap coat with some fur on him himself. We shake hands, and he tells me to look around.
I literally looked around by turning my head from left to right, the place is small and the selection was limited...so how did I end up staying half an hour?
Yukon Fur Company, I don't know where the name comes from. The old gentleman is a 60yr old Greek man who apprenticed in Germany, and is one happy fellow.
It turns out that they specialize in custom designs, which explains the lack of selections on the racks. He shows me to the temperature controlled room where his pelts and jackets are stored. He gives me a pelt of a shadow fox, the thing is as white as snow, and as soft as tits.
Then he puts me in this huge coyote coat that drapes from my shoulders to toe.
"Stallone wore this in Rocky!" He said.
Not this one actually, but the exact design.
I got his card, we talked price...he asked me what my business was, I told him I hunt. He was so shocked to meet a Chinese hunter because his never met one before. Sorry Sir, but the Chinese didn't invent the grocery store...we're quite bad-ass animal murdering psychopaths ourselves if I don't say.
This place is pretty upscale for a very small space, everything is custom and half of their business are from wealthy Chinese people. They guy knew how to treat me just how I like to be treated.
Never has the word Yukon been associated with such a warm and welcoming place like this. read more
