Hard to get ahold of. Sells dirty, moldy appliances. Lies about the products they sell.

Two bad experiences with Tech counter for Apple Authorized Service Provider (AASP) service…read more I recommend this store gets its AASP status revoked. Instance 1. I brought in an iPhone 11 to get an out of warranty battery replacement. Everything seemed fine. When I was called back and picked up my phone they handed it to me and said "have a nice day" but didn't charge me anything... Confused I asked why the service was free and only then did they actually explain that they though the phone has counterfeit components and they refused to replace the battery. I attest the phone is 100% genuine. If I was the kind of person to get non-genuine parts. I wouldn't try using an AASP... I'd go to any other service provider that can use any third party component, for 1/2 the cost. I believe the employees were not trained adequately to identify differing SKUs of iPhone 11. As some have differing screen and battery suppliers they can look marginally different on the inside, even for the same model. This inability to accurately identify genuine apple components is evidence of incompetence on the part of the tech. Additionally, the staffs attempt to skirt the issue and let me believe I had received a free service, only owning up to what they did/didn't do when I stopped and questioned them is lying by omission at best. This is inexcusably shady behavior for any business and especially a supposedly 'premium' AASP. Instance 2. I brought in my GF's iPhone 11 for an out of warranty battery replacement. I booked ahead of time on the AASP appointment scheduler. I filled out the name, phone number, serial number, and picked a time. When I arrived (~5 minutes early) the staff seemed clueless about the Apple scheduling system and started taking my information (name, phone number, and serial number) on post-it notes. Then part-way through they switched to a London Drugs branded intake form. Not once did they acknowledge the Apple appointment or look at the information already provided in the appointment portal. Such as the reason for the visit, name, phone number, etc. Providing this information a second time made the initial appointment set-up feel like a waste of time and effort, and did not exude the qualities of a premium service department. I would have been better to just walk-in at any time and bypass the apple scheduling system. The employee also seemed very confused throughout and went to the back room three times during the information intake process. Lastly, the employee confirmed with me confusedly that the device was (out of warranty) OOW. As an aside, we both know its 2025 and the service is for an iPhone 11, of course its OOW. Then they attempted to charge me a $30 "registration fee" to check-in the phone. On-top of the $119 battery replacement fee. When I complained, another employee chimed in and said it's more like a down-payment on the $119 and not an additional fee. However, the nature of the fee and way it was explained felt very sketchy to me. The way the employee prefaced the charge conversation by confirming that the phone was OOW first made it feel like an OOW average sale price (ASP) booster kind of charge. (Additionally, this fee and its reasoning is not present on the London drugs website as far as I was able to find through searching after the fact. Making the fee feel even more sketchy) I walked out. Not trusting this company after this incompetent and shady behavior. Likely many more instances of this kind have happened to other Lethbridge citizens if I personally have only sought service twice and on both occasions this company has demonstrated ignorance and deceitful conduct unbecoming of an AASP. Not only should no one go here for apple service. They (London Drugs) should have their AASP status revoked. I've lodged complaints with Apple directly and am adding this complaint here to hopefully save fellow Lethbridge citizens the hassle. Go to a Calgary Apple store for real Apple service or go to any of the multitude of other tech shops in Lethbridge for third party service.

Canadian tire had the identical one on for 179.99 and I bought mine from London drugs for 229.99. UPC, style number all the same. I asked them what was different about it, the ladies at customer service couldn't give me an answer. So I returned the mixer and saved myself $50 and went to Canadian tire instead!

DO NOT BUY FROM SMS APPLIANCES!!!…read more In September 2024, I purchased an $800 LG fridge from SMS Appliances for my basement suite. The fridge was delivered and plugged in by their staff. The unit remained unused while finishing touches were completed on the suite. Upon move-in, my tenant and I discovered that both the fridge and freezer were completely non-functional. I contacted SMS Appliances, but they refused to assist, claiming their 30-day warranty had expired. They offered a technician visit at my expense, so I scheduled one for February 13th. When the technician arrived, he only spoke Ukrainian, making communication difficult. While working, he caused a strong gas smell, alarming both me and my tenant. It turned out he was leaking refrigerant into the unit. He completed the repair in 30 minutes, and I was charged $241. On March 15th, my tenant reported the freezer had stopped working again. I called SMS five times, left three voicemails, and finally got a response from the manager. He agreed to consider my complaint under their 30-day repair warranty (since February has only 28 days). He initially scheduled a technician for March 17th but later changed the date multiple times, offering vague assurances. When I expressed frustration over paying over $1,000 for a fridge that never worked properly, the manager was dismissive and laughed at my concerns. He insisted the issue wasn't refrigerant-related and that I would likely need to pay for additional repairs--despite the fridge never functioning properly since purchase. When I declined further service, he responded with indifference. SMS Appliances' lack of accountability, poor customer service, and minimal 30-day warranty reflect their questionable business practices. Other refurbished appliance stores offer 12-18 month warranties, and I strongly urge Calgary consumers to take their business elsewhere.

The Brick uses a…read morewarranty company out of Edmonton that doesn't have a clue what they are doing and they gave me the run around for 3 weeks. They don't have a local technician to fix it, sent the wrong guy to look at the fridge the first time, want to send another guy in a two weeks, blah blah blah. No answers, just excuses and more wait times. The warranty company even offered me $1500 to just go away! On a $3000 fridge with extended warranty! Insulting to say the least. The manager at the Brick seems like he half cares and took it upon himself to ship my fridge to Calgary himself and send me a loaner fridge to get me by in the mean time. The best part? The loaner fridge they delivered is broken too....... In the future, I will be looking for a place that honours their warranty service locally before making a large appliance purchase. Updated: I should add that at the time of purchase the salesman was very helpful and not overly pushy. I think the manager that has been helping me deal with the terrible warranty service is probably doing his best but the warranty company doesn't seem to inform him about anything either. The entire process has left me very frustrated and I'm still not sure when my fridge might be done. Hoping this second loaner fridge works better than the first one.

No later than Saturday he said as the items is in stock. She asked him again 3 times more to confirm the delivery was going to be on Saturday, and he did. To our surprise, and after calling the store on Saturday, no delivery was arranged. It seems to me that this store takes your money, promise delivery when they have no stock. It is sad that the owner allows these dirty and unethical sales tactics just to get sales. Shame on you !!!!!!!!
