I purchased a pair of kilt socks costing £7.80, and then considered purchasing a black walking cane which the Seller had tried to intimate was a laminated wood, it was in actual fact a cheap plastic, when confronted about this the seller snatched the cane from my hands threw it behind him and told me that 'I should just forget about the cane'. When I then tried to receive a refund for the socks due to the shockingly bad customer service I was informed that I would not receive a refund nor was I allowed to return the socks (removing my rights under the Sale of Goods Act 1979). Instead the seller shouted that I should 'Get out of his [expletive rhyming with ducking] shop' and then he assaulted me as he manhandled me out of the door. I would recommend ANY other tartan shop within Inverness, certainly the service I received at the Kilt Shop across the other side of Academy Street (at the entrance to the Railway station) was far and away a better service than I received at Boarstone, I would shop anywhere but Boarstone and would recommend that you do the same due to the obvious lack of product knowledge, unless you are happy to receive a dogs mess level of service and satisfaction. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

There is now a much larger selection of clothes, a large selection of shoes and boots, a proper section of jeans and a office wear. The store is nicely organised so you can find jeans, office wear, evening and day wear easily. They often have good offers on like two shirts for £20 or two jumpers for £20 which can be a bargain! The staff are friendly too, only the other day I was in buying clothes and the girl serving reminded me of their offer helping me save money. This is all without mentioning the great clothes they have on sale!

The lovely gentleman who served us, was the co-owner of the shop along with his father, and he guided my brother to a Tartan pattern called "The Flower of Scotland." If you don't have Scottish heritage, this is a safe tartan to get as its got no affiliation or connection to any clan, and can be worn by anyone who is a fan of Scotland. The tartan colors were a lovely lichen green and a blue the resembled the color of the lochs, so just a very pleasing combination which looked great on my brother so the purchase was made! There is plenty of parking with a huge car parking area behind the shop. When it's buy though it can still be rather difficult to get a space to park. New look is a fair size, with a large variety of stock in all sizes and for all age groups. They have fashionable clothing that keeps up to date with latest trends and fashions. They have shoes and accessories, jewellery and other little nick nacks. I personally love this shop as it has plus size clothing which is trendy and makes you feel sexy. They certainly don't make you feel or look frumpy. Granted some of the prices can be a little expensive but it is usually very reasonable, and when the sales come along you can pick clothing up for as little as £1, being reduced from say £30. There is only a little section for plus size clothing, but they have a fair selection to choose from, at least they have a section, most of the other new looks i've been to don't bother and just have for petite sizes. changing rooms are available to check out just hwo sexy you look before you buy the clothing. This shop is fantastic, and the staff are excellent, they are always willing to help.
