They carry a ton of different merchandise made in Scotland. You can find everything from clothes to food and everything in between. Unfortunately, we only had about 30 minutes to explore the store. It was not enough time to find great deals. The products we were interested in were priced higher than other stores we had visited that day. We ended up purchasing nothing. There were staff present, but no one assisted us. If someone had, then we probably would have bought some goods. Although, we were unsuccessful in finding good deals, you may be lucky. Check them out for yourself when you are visiting Edinburgh, Scotland.

So the three stars is because this store only had ONE small table of sweaters made in England!!…read more The name is very misleading as nothing in the store is made in Edinburgh, or indeed anywhere in Scotland, and so if you purchase anything from this shop, the money isn't really supporting local industry. On the plus side, you can get everything at a great price, but for me, I really want to shop and support local. The gentleman at the counter was really very nice and friendly, but overall I was disappointed. Yelp 70/ 2019

While window shopping in downtown Inverness, my husband and happened upon this lovely store, and were delighted by the beautiful modern tartan weaves. The offerings included kilts, coats, capes, tops, pants, dresses and jumpers in an amazing array of colors and weaves, with scarves, bags and small purses to accessorize. Hard to choose, but Clare and the other woman working helped me pick out a top. Even my husband picked out a scarf for himself, and we now both have one of a kind wearable works of art. As if the beauty and quality of the clothing wasn't enough, this business is working hard to create clothes with a zero waste, no landfill ethic, becoming Scotland's first B Corp certified textile mill in 2021. Seriously, there's too much to tell you about in this review, so visit pricklythistle.shop, where you can read more about the company, keep up with their weekly in house events and shop their seasonal clothes on line. They release a new collection 4 times a year, so keeping up on line is definitely something I'll be doing. I encourage you to shop here and support a local business that's doing so much for local people and the environment, and creating clothes that will have your friends asking, "Where'd you get that?"

I wanted to take back some whiskey marmalade (and it's another story that it got impounded at the airport as was over the liquid limit) and I also found a great plough-house chutney!! Very affordable, cost around £6 and very pleased as was looking for local produce exactly like this, which the local Marks & Spencer's didn't stock. Oh, also check out the whisky flavored condom at the front checkout of the store! There was also a clotted cream fudge, but it was too big a size, so didn't purchase. Overall however, very pleased with the variety of local food that was available at this shop, and if you are looking for good quality and relatively inexpensive food items to take back as souvenirs, then definitely recommend coming & checking out this store. PS - previous reviews talk about a Highland Kilt Museum - I must have been totally oblivious as didn't see any signs for this attraction when was at this shop in March 2019. Yelp 87/ 2019

Inside there is also a ramp as well as stairs for individuals to make there way up to the upper level of the shop. The shop is split into several sections, there is children/babies clothing, mens clothing, ladies clothing, and household items. The shop is spacious, and easy to move around as the rails are not so close together, so you are not pushing your way around. There is a variety of types of clothing and styles, but sometimes I have to admit that they style does not always fit with the present fashion, and sometimes I find it hard to go in there and find some nice clothing. Granted there are some really lovely clothing but some of it is a little bit outdated. Prices are not really competitive, as they are around the same prices as m&s and next, but not necessary the same quality. Of course you can go in here and get some cheap clothing, but I do find for the larger lady it is a bit of a struggle especially as most of the clothing for larger ladies are not very stylish. Overall though the whole selection of the shop is positive, and around christmas time the selection of christmas stock is outstanding, and will take your breath away, some really unique items. Always worth a look!
