The work was done at a price point of about $16,700, which was less than half of what W C Rott quoted. Steve Eglin was absolutely incredible. Our roof looks terrific and is expected to hold up for decades. I recommend these guys highly. First of all, since my initial post we had Fiddler replace our garage roof. $2000 and maybe an afternoon? Bam. You'd never have known they were there except that the new roof was lovely. Second, last year we'd been experiencing a critter home invasion - well, not really, but we had raccoons living in our soffits (I think that is what they're called). There were a couple holes made and John and another guy came by within a day or so and got them sealed up again (no raccoons were harmed!) at NO CHARGE. This is not the first time they've done "small" favors just gratis. I mean. Anyway, when the time comes we will absolutely have Fiddler roofing the house. And I tell anyone I know who mentions needing roofing. John, thank you and your staff for being truly wonderful businesspeople.

I received multiple quotes to replace our roof and gutters on our house. Our appointment was…read morescheduled and Adam came out a few days after my request for the consultation. Out of all the companies that did show up ( 4 out of 5), Adam was the only estimator who actually went up on our roof and walked it to see how everything looked. Because of this, Adam's timeliness on coming out as well as getting a professional and itemized quote submitted to us and the reasonable cost, we chose to have Ava install our project. The contract was signed and job was scheduled within a week! The crew protected our house and did a great job stripping and installing new plywood, removed an old electrical service pipe that was no longer needed and reshingled our house in one day. They cleaned up the yard and left everything in great condition, which with our yard being wet and muddy, was a big hurdle! The gutter installers came a few days later and had our new gutters up in a few hours. They had their work cut out for them because it rained a great deal the days before so they were fighting mud as well. My house looks amazing with all of the improvements that Ava performed for us! I would recommend them to anyone who needs work done!

Unfortunately, I spent $30k for a new roof, including new sheeting, only to discover that they…read morewould use a really poor subcontractor to execute. Ava had to come back to fix the issues we (as homeowners) uncovered, like: -used finishing nails instead of roofing nails in high wind areas -not tarring over exposed nails -had rippling of shingles in the back of the house -ridge vent didn't get added to the full roof -broke a beam and originally used a 2x4 on one side, didn't even notify me that this happened. -didn't cut soffits where they were supposed to -put feet through our ceiling in 2 areas and I discovered it on my own They fixed all these things properly and quickly, but only after I called to explain the same sub contractors they sent back originally, didn't do a good job fixing some of them. So then I asked for their actual internal installers to come out and fix. When they did that (sent Billy), the craftsmanship was much better. Now, 4 months after installation, my brand new bathroom vents are blowing air back in and not as strong anymore. We discover it's because of the way they installed the the roof vents. The grates are pushing up against the opening so they can't open fully. I'm beyond frustrated that poor installation caused all these issues to appear! Although Ava has come out each time, if I was an uneducated home owner, I would not necessarily be able to find these issues and push to get them fixed. If you choose to use them, make sure it's not a subcontractor doing the work and that they are using their internal team.

We learned about The Red Leaf Milling Company from our HVAC contractor, who matter of factly asked…read moreif we reached out to John (the owner). After a terribly unpleasant kitchen and bath place visit, we called and John stayed late while we drove to Newfane to visit his showroom. As soon as we stepped inside this unpretentious set up, I knew we'd found our cabinet maker. We chatted and learned way more than imaginable about cabinetry and countertops. He even opened a drawer and (gulp) stood in it. That is how sturdy he builds cabinets. Handsome gorgeous cabinets. John has the entire process of building cabinets to an art. He visited our home on several occasions and gave input and advice as needed. We visited the slab yard and selected granite from the beautiful pieces available. Once he measured he returned and double checked with us certain areas so he could build the most efficient spacious cabinets possible. John is a stellar carpenter and doesn't like to waste any space, claiming to be all thriller, no filler (no faux panels). We honestly listened to John when it came to best depth, width and such details. This is his forte. He reminded us regularly that he wants us to have it our way. When he suggested knobs (and a place online to order) and not pulls we listened. The cabinets come with all slow close, superior hinges, and made for your needs. The shelving has sturdy metal grommets and pegs and holds 60% more weight than standard cabinetry allows. I asked for a cabinet to store my stringed instruments and got that. He even lowered the placement available for the oven/microwave combo 4" so it'd be easier for vertically-challenged me to reach! Plus full depth over the refrigerator storage cabinet. So very happy with this local business.

We called on a Saturday morning and he answered right away. We asked if we could make an appointment. He was very accommodating and said that he could squeeze us in between two other appointments that day. He showed us some products, gave us a tour and gave us a quote right on the spot. We were so impressed we decided to do the job. We were not disappointed! John came out to do the measuring and then a week later was there to do the install. He answered any questions we had, was SUPER neat, we are clean freaks so we very much appreciated that! I can't recommend Red Leaf Milling enough! Turns out we eventually got the quote from the Lockport company, after a month of asking for it, and they were more expensive than Red Leaf Milling and their product was inferior. So happy with our experience from start to finish! Thank you John!
