My experience with. Anne Jordan Photography was far less than pleasant…read more I purchased a social coupon and contacted Ms. Jordan months in advance to schedule a session. At which time I was told it was too early to pinpoint a date, the date I requested was not a good date, and to contact her at another date. I contacted Ms. Jordan a week prior to when she told me to follow-up for an appointment, to be told that the only date she had was the date she previously told me was not a good date (I had already booked another photographer on the "bad date"). I went with this "bad date" though I was disappointed that all other dates were "booked" though I contacted Ms. Jordan well in advance. In the end, I was not able to take the photos at all. It rained most of the booked day, and my eye had swollen (so pictures of me would not be a good idea). I sent Ms. Jordan a message to let her know about my eye...crickets. I worked with four photographers during this two month period of returning to the US and Ms. Jordan is the only one who did not follow-up with me prior to the appointment time. Of the two booked for that same day, she is the only one who did not reply to my message to cancel the session. Anne Jordan may take good photos, but her customer service with me was absolutely horrible!!

Photo Systems Unlimited is a great place to go if you want to buy an old camera. They are one of…read morethe few places in town where you can still pick up an old medium format Bronica or Mamiya, or an old manual 35mm Nikon or Canon. So if you're still old school about cameras, check out the selection available here. If you have recently upgraded or gone digital, PSU also sells cameras and other equipment on consignment, but they are honest with you about what will and will not sell. On a recent trip, they told me to try selling my equipment on Craigslist first. They also sell a limited amount of darkroom equipment, including some enlargers and lenses, but they also have paper and chemicals. It's a tiny little store, but they do have all of the basics. This is also the only place I know of in town that will fix old cameras. They fixed my old Nikon twice, very quickly and cheaply, and helped me avoid sending it to Nikon, where it would have cost a fortune and taken about eight weeks, so if you have a camera will some minor malfunctions, they can fix it for you. I believe you have to take it in on Tuesdays when the repair guy is there. They also offer an array of visual services, including making DVDs from videotape, so if you have something unusual like that you need doing, they may be able to help.
