I was told they could call sometime next week to schedule an appointment. On Thursday the following week, I called Curties-Huntley plumbing and they scheduled my appointment for the next day. They new toilets are in and I still haven't heard from AMPs. It's a shame I have to give them one star when they can't even complete a phone call. I guess with AMPs, it's "Don't call us, we'll call you."

We had a small leak near the sink and I wasn't around to check it out. I'd called for an estimate for work and was given a scheduled date and time. The time came and went and the day was almost over with no word from them. I called AMPS up to see what happened and found out they "forgot" to call me. They ran over and shut the water main off to stop the leak from causing further damage. Decent save for the forgetting to call... After another reschedule, I had the guy come out and quote me $300 for a pretty simple job. If I didn't have my hands so full, I woulda made the repair myself. I told him if he can get it to $200 I'd pay to have him do it, otherwise I'll pass. We settled on $200. Today I received the invoice for over $250. I called them up and spoke w Kim. She didn't seem to care that I was quoted one price and billed another. They get a bonus star for shutting the water main off and delivering my house key to me at work. I would consider another try with them just to see if this was an "off day" or not...

Unknown to me, the work installing the new pump stirred up my well a bit and pulled some sand into the plumbing lines feeding my house. A few days ago (4 months later), my on-demand hot water heater, kitchen sink, and shower started having issues. I didn't know what was wrong, but suspected the problems might be related to the new well pump. I tried to fix things myself by cleaning aerators, replacing cartridges in the faucets, but my efforts didn't resolve the issues, then my shower completely failed on me - no water! I feared the cost of calling a plumber, but a friend referred me to Eagle Plumbing. I called them last night and Darin asked a few questions on the phone. They were here first thing this morning. They did some trouble-shooting and determined my lines had a little sand in them caused by when my new pump was replaced 4 months ago. They back-flushed my lines. They cleaned out my my on-demand water heater and the lines all the way from my kitchen to my shower and bathroom faucet. All had a bit of black sand until they were flushed clean. Once the sand was flushed out, everything started working normal again. While Darin and Aaron were here, I also had them replace a leaky shower head, a leaky toilet float, and we walked out to my pump house and did a flush-check on the new little pressure tank. They counseled with me where in the pump house I might want to install a sand filter in the near future. All of this took only 2 hrs. With the labor of two plumbers at $159/hr. plus a few parts, the total cost of my repairs was $393. Darin and Aaron Chase are quick, honest, very good plumbers, and reasonably priced. I highly recommend Eagle Plumbing and will call for them again when I have problems in the future!

My job entailed replacing two attic fans with my new, in-box units…read more 1- Your billing begins when the handyman leaves their last job. That's $65/hour just to drive to the worksite. 2- He arrived with an approximate 4 rung step ladder, which by itself would have created a challenge to get into the attic from an interior trap door on an 8 foot ceiling. The company made no effort to come out and preview the job, or ask appropriate questions to determine their needs. Since the typical job would mean loosening the shingles to pull the old unit out, roof access is required. Additional trips for equipment/supplies, at $65/hour prompted me to allow him to use my ladder, both outside and inside. 3- The repairman determined it would be easiest and more practical to leave the existing housing in place and just replace the motor fan unit with thermostat. This still required rooftop access. 4- The job was completed with 4 hours of billing AND a hardware charge of some $40. What hardware? Everything was included and there was no need to seal around a housing already in place. No itemized account for the hardware was provided so I can only theorize that I must have been renting the tools that were used. My gut feeling tells me that the billing presumed what the typical fan replacement might require and I was billed on their presumption rather than fact. 5- Mailed them a check for the full amount and added a note about they're being ill-equipped and over-charging for a job they can't substantiate -AND- I won't be using them in the future.
