The whole process was seamless. Michael was great to work with when it came to scheduling and confirming everything, and the building was easy to find. I took his advice and had the Uber go to the building across the street and it worked like a charm. Dapheney and Philipp were so wonderful when it came to hair and makeup. I felt gorgeous and just told them to do their thing based on what they thought would look best. (And as a bonus, I got to look hot when seeing a Broadway show that night.) I felt like an old Hollywood screen siren. Raya was professional and INCREDIBLE. I used some of her costumes and she helped me feel way more comfortable than I ever thought I could in my skin. She knew the right lighting and angles to bring out my best features, and did I mention it was so FUN? I didn't know I could pose like that. I was able to see all the photos within a day and was blown away by her skill. My boyfriend was so impressed too and had a hard time choosing his favorites because there were so many good ones. I had an excellent experience at this studio. It's not the easiest place to get to, but once you get there it's well worth it. Raya Is extremely professional and patient. The studio is first class, very clean and spacious. I thought the make up artist was outstanding and very professional. I ended up looking like a movie star, but I would've preferred that my curls came out a little bit softer. I was photographed were three different outfits and I felt that each was a metamorphosis. I am not a professional model but I felt like each shot was a poster shot. Raya proved to be extremely helpful in terms of setting me up for each shot with perfect poses. If you want unique portrait photos that are not just with black and white wall background like most studios have, this is the right place for you!! Raya is a very great photographer and knows how to position you for vintage Hollywood portraits. I chose Gone with the Wind package and also purchased photo album from them. The quality of the printing photos and the book are all very good. You get 5 retouched photo for the package. It's great but would be better if we can get more though. The shooting was roughly 3 hrs with makeup and hair stylist, two outfit changes. Raya is also very fast with feedback and retouch after the photo shootings. Nowadays, with digital camera and photoshop, the marketplace is flooded with amateur photographers who set up shop with a few basic equipment. I tried one of those two years ago - the portraits were fine, but flat and forgettable. With Raya, it's anything but. Raya stands out with her mastery of lighting and a keen eye for aesthetic. The photos were stunning - beautiful settings, rich in color and depth. It was almost magical to see how she creates such different imagery by adjusting the lighting. She's personable and very pleasant to work with - gave good directions and was very encouraging throughout the shoot. I can't believe the quality of the photos, especially given the price. If you are going for boudoir photography, go to Raya. She is marginally more expensive than others (way under-priced) and for that differential you receive a quality boost that is unquantifiable. You have the opportunity to have photos done by an actual professional fashion photographer -- how often do you get that done? Wouldn't you want them to be heirloom-quality? Don't you want to show your grandkids how hot you were at one time? Lol maybe not, but I sure do. Raya is a total professional, and her makeup artist was amazing too. If you are looking for someone who is truly a master at her art, Raya is the photographer you want. I probably have screened, looked through the portfolios and reached to over 20 photographers to find someone I trusted to shoot my boudoir photos. I think every woman should do this for herself and it will be an empowering experience with most photographers (this is why a lot of studio I looked at got great reviews with pretty average photos). But since you are not doing a boudoir shooting every month, you should really select a great photographer. Raya is of the most creative and experienced talent in New York; she knows which lighting, which pose will look good. She was also very encouraging of any poses I wanted to try (eventually did not look as good as her suggestions ) Raya, her makeup artist Jessica, and hair stylist Itomi were so professional and made me feel so comfortable.
